This is from Heero's point of view.

Why can't I shoot her?
I don't understand.
My finger constricting,
Like a steel band.

How easy death comes,
From metal thus flying,
But not for her,
Whose eyes are not crying.

She stands there and looks,
So regal and still,
And silently dares me,
To add her as a kill.

Why isn't she running?
Why isn't she crying?
Why isn't she begging,
So fearful of dying?

She stands there and dares,
Dares me to kill.
Dares me to love.
Dares me to feel.

I cannot shoot her,
I lower the gun.
I turn away,
Let her think she has won.

But in one way she has,
My heart opens a crack,
And the sunlight streams in,
Pushing the cold darkness back.

I turn away,
Another day,
I shall find my way,
To her again.
