"So, why didn't you go to Bulgaria with Viktor then?" Ginny asked Hermione, taking a pink pillow from the head of her bed and hugging it.

"Well, Dad wouldn't let me go. I mean, it costs a lot to go the Bulgaria and he didn't fancy me flying on a broom all the way there." Hermione replied, her feet dangling lazily off the edge of her bed. "Besides, I think I would prefer it here."

Ginny blushed at the praise of her family.

"Try telling Ron that. He told me earlier in the holidays that he has the biggest crush on you!"

This time it was Hermione's turn to blush.

"No, he doesn't!" she said, surprised, twisting a lock of her hair round and round her finger.

"No, it's true!" Ginny told her. "Well, I gave him one of Fred and George's truth toffees first."

"Ah."

"So, back to Viktor. Would you have gone?" Ginny continued. Hermione thought for a moment.

"No. I like it better here. And, I think Harry needs some moral support after the third task"

Ginny shuddered.

"Ohhhh! Don't even mention it! Mum told us that…You-Know-Who came back." Then she remembered something. "But who was crying their eyes out during it?" She raised her eyebrows at Hermione.

"Well, he is my best friend." Hermione protested. "And so were you, I might add."

Ginny threw the cushion at Hermione.

"Yeah, well, I kinda got a…"

"Yes…" Hermione coaxed.

"IkindagotacrushonHarry." Ginny said very quickly. Hermione blinked. Then she grinned.

"I knew it!" she shrieked, earning a thump from Ron's room upstairs. "You owe me 5 galleons Ron Weasley!" Another thump.

"You had bets!" Ginny cried, looking furious at Hermione.

"Well, it was pretty obvious. I mean after that Valentine thing in your 1st year." Hermione began to screech imitating the dwarf who delivered the message "His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad, His hair is as dark as a blackboard. I wish…" but she was silenced by another cushion and an assortment teddy bears. "Ow! My ear!"

Ginny giggled. Then she went serious.

"But, if you had a hunch, why did you kiss Harry on the last day of school?"

"Oh, that." Hermione said, looking at Ginny. "Sorry. I was just so glad to see he had survived that year. And besides he's my best friend."

"Yeah, as you keep saying." Ginny replied, in a more vicious voice than she would have liked.

"Oh," Hermione said, cottoning on. "I'm sure Harry likes you as a friend too." She must have said the right thing because Ginny's freckled face erupted into a giant grin.

"And speaking of kissing," Ginny began. "Did you or did you not kiss Viktor Krum?"

Hermione blushed and began to play with her hair again.

"Yes. And, what's it to you? You are madly in love with Harry aren't you?"

"No reason. Well, bribe material really."

"You…" Hermione spluttered and was about to throw something soft at Ginny when the door opened.

"What are you two doing?" Harry asked.

"Yeah, we can here you shrieking and screaming from upstairs." Ron added.

Hermione and Ginny simply looked at each other and smile.

"Nothing!" they chorused.
