Author's Notes: Takes place directly as RofJ ends. This is the first time writing Star Wars. Never before until now did I think of writing fiction for the fandom. Star Wars belongs to Disney, created by George Lucas.
It was well into the night before anyone began to pass out from drinking and partying too much. It was a party well long into the making. Years ago, the Republic were corrupted and became the Galactic Empire when the Clone Wars ended by the disgrace and genocide of the Jedi Order. Twenty years after the clone wars had ended, the Jedi fell into legend, been given a bad name. No one wanted to associate themselves with Jedi, therefore the remaining Jedi were forced into isolation. But now, those who still lived could finally come out of hiding, that was if there were any left from the old order.
Luke, now the only last surviving Jedi that is known to man, sits watching as those around him slowly turn in for a long resting sleep. It had been many years since that was able to be done. It had yet to be publicly known Luke was not only a Jedi, but the son of a Sith Lord, Vader. It would also soon come to light Princess Leia Organa, of the fallen planet of Alderian was too a child of Darth Vader, twin sister to Luke.
"What troubles you?" ghostly voice speaks from behind.
Luke doesn't even flinch at the sudden voice. He looks into his cup of a strange liquid the indigenous creatures of the Moon Endor, gave him. "I have so many questions," he breathed, bringing the cup to his lips and drinking the last of the liquid. "I'm too wired right now to sleep."
"Time now, seek answers," another replied.
Luke turned to see Yoda and Obi-Wan in their ghostly forms. "How, you two have always been so cryptic to me before."
"We did not want the truth to cloud your judgment," Obi-Wan answered.
"Who was my father exactly? Was he a great jedi? What about my mother?"
"Your father was indeed my padawan, as I told you before. He was a child my own master and I found on Tatooine, the chosen one to bring balance to the force."
Yoda lowered his head. "Prophecy, out of context it was. hmmmm."
"I don't understand," Luke sighed.
"Your father was a skilled fighter and an excellent pilot. But what he lacked was the ability to control his emotions, which led him to the dark side. We believed he would defeat the Sith and bring harmony back to the force."
"Wrong that, we were. hmmmm."
"It actually was the other way around," Obi-Wan continued. "It was to balance the scales between the Jedi and the Sith. Your father 'died' as Anakin when he slaughtered all the Jedi younglings. He betrayed the Jedi Order and ultimately killed your mother."
Luke's eyes lifted at the mention of his biological mother. "What happened to her?"
"She died of heart ache. After witnessing your father's evil, she lost the will to live and died shortly after you two were born. Although we had no idea she was pregnant with twins until she delivered. I was then tasked with taking you to your uncle, my brother, while your sister went to live on Alderian under the protection of Bail Organa. He raised her as his own."
"Wait a minute, your brother?" Luke blinked.
Obi-Wan looked over and took a seat on a stump nearby. "Owen Lars was my brother but he was also married to Anakin's mother until her passing. He later remarried. From a distance I watched you grow, waiting until it was time to face Darth Vader."
Luke was silent a moment as he looked into his empty cup. "And for the sake of protecting us both, you had us sent to separate parts of the galaxy to prevent him from finding out about us."
"Darth Vader was led to believe, thanks to Empire Palpatine, that your mother died, therefore his child died. We could not let what could be the last possible force sensitive children to fall into enemy hands."
"Who was my mother?"
"Padme Amidala."
Luke looked up to see his father, now redeemed, and looked like his former self before being seduced by the dark side. Both Obi-Wan and Yoda looked at the now young man force ghost beside them.
Anakin turned to Yoda. "Master, I can never make up for what I did, but being trained was something I will always cherish. I indeed was the chosen one but I was destined to defeat the Emperor."
Yoda nodded in understanding.
Anakin then turned to Luke. "Luke, you saw the good in me when everyone lost faith. Thank you. I've been redeemed in the matters of the force and returned to my original self."
"Other questions, you have? hmmmm." asked Yoda suddenly.
Luke turned away a moment, glancing around where everyone slept peacefully after a night of partying. He soon turned back. "Is it possible to revive the Jedi Order?"
"Possible yes," Yoda nodded. "Large task ahead for one man."
Anakin slowly blinked. "To re-established the original rules may not be so easy."
Luke shook his head. "No. From what you three have told me about the Jedi and the force, one can swing in either direction. They need to be made aware of everything the good and the bad. In the past few years since I left Tatooine, I've learned we all have a little bit of hatred in us. Perhaps that is the problem. The Jedi purged the anger, preventing understanding."
Anakin nodded. "I saw it for myself. You were purposely angered by the Emperor, but you defied him, proving that anger can exist but also be able to continue on the light side." He lowered his head, looking at his hands. "I was given the best of both worlds. I was upset for leaving my mother and angered when she was killed."
"Father, you had no idea what would happen to her," Luke defended. "Like you said 'can't escape your destiny'. What you can change though is how you get to that point. I had a vision of Leia, Han and Cheewie being killed and I had to go to them. Look at them, still alive."
At the mention of Leia's name, Anakin looked to his former master. "The Princess..."
Obi-Wan looked to the redeemed ghost. "She is your daughter. Padme died of a broken heart and lost her will to live. We had no idea she was pregnant with twins until she was forced into premature labor."
"Glad to know she has a strong will and I've noticed the force is swarming her."
"The force has always been with her," Obi-Wan admitted. "Even as a child. It's why she became a rebel."
Anakin stepped past Luke and looked down where everyone was sleeping and saw her cuddled by Solo, the smuggler. "She looks much like her mother. I am very proud of her as I am proud of you, my son."
Yoda and Obi-Wan looked at each other, giving one another a small smile before disappearing from sight. If Luke wanted more answers, he would ask. It was now time for Luke to have time with his father.
