Marvin loved Bugs. I know it's a weird way to begin this story but it's true.

Marvin hasn't had the best track record when it comes to romance. Marvin's first love was Daffy Duck, or "Dorky Duck" as he was called in high school. The two somehow managed to date in high school since Marvin felt kinda bad deserting him and leaving him to the bullies. First they sat at lunch together, then Marvin would help Daffy with his homework while Daffy would pass notes to Marvin in class. One thing comes after the other and Daffy and Marvin have their first kiss at a party. They had become official.

But all good things must come to an end. Before their junior homecoming, Daffy decided to call things off with Marvin. This broke Marvin's heart and left him crying behind the school. Everyone hated Daffy from that point forward.

Things only got worse for Marvin. He dated a mermaid in his senior year but she died, then he decided to date his best friend Pete but things didn't go well for them either so they both decided to just stay friends.

Now we're in the present day and Marvin is thinking about Bugs. Marvin met Bugs at his high school reunion when Daffy invited him. Once he saw Bugs in drag and thought he was very pretty. He couldn't say it to his face though because he was too nervous. Either way, Marvin absolutely adored Bugs and would do anything to be his.

Ashamed Bugs was with Daffy.

What's even more of a shame is that Bugs managed to enter a poly relationship with Daffy and Marvin, which means that technically, Marvin was back with his ex.

Great. Daffy is back in his life. Marvin will never forget the day Daffy dumped him at homecoming. Just as he and Daffy were crowned homecoming kings, Daffy announced on stage that he was dumping Marvin.

"Sorry pal, it's just not working out" Daffy's words echoed through Marvin's head. Next thing he remembers, he dropped his crown and satchel and was running off stage as everyone booed Daffy.

"Way to break his heart, Dorky Duck," someone in the crowd said.

"H-h-how dare you break Marvin's heart?" A young Porky said. I say we throw p-p-peanuts at him"

Daffy gets plummeted by peanuts as Marvin is sobbing in the back of the school. He should've known not to date Dorky Duck.

Bugs' face is in shock after Marvin finishes the story. He turns to Daffy.

"They threw peanuts at you?!" Bugs said.

"For some reason people thought I was allergic to them," Daffy said. "It was their way of trying to kill me"

"Well maybe you deserve those peanuts," Bugs said. "You embarrassed Marvin on probably his most important day ever!"

Bugs has had Marvin in his arms this whole time. He places a kiss on Marvin's cheek.

"I mean it wasn't THAT important" Daffy said. "The crowns they gave us were plastic! PLASTIC!"

"No excuses Daffy" Bugs said. "If this relationship is gonna work, I need the two of you to put aside your differences and make up"

"I will never make up with someone who made my high school life terrible," Marvin said. Bugs patted his head.

"Listen," Bugs said. "I bought us tickets to go see When Love Blooms At Dawn tonight"

"Ugh, that cheap romance movie with Porky in it?" Daffy said. "You know. We could've gotten Batgirl or Duck Dodgers the movie but nooo someone at WB didn't want to pay taxes"

"But it will be fun," Bugs said, "and what's more fun than watching a movie with my two favortie people?"

Both Daffy and Marvin turn red.

Later that day, Daffy and Marvin arrive at the theater, but Bugs isn't there. The two of them looked around.

"Where is he?" Daffy said.

"Should we try calling him?" Marvin said. He pulls out his phone and calls Bugs. Daffy does the same.

"Oh uh something came up so I can't come" Bugs lied. His plan was to have Daffy and Marvin alone so they could talk things out.

"But we literally live together!" Daffy said. "What am I supposed to do without you?"

"Oh well, looks like you two have to see the movie together" Bugs said. "Also, no phones in the theater."

Bugs hangs up. Daffy sighs.

"Great, now I have to deal with HIM," Daffy said in his thoughts. Daffy looks over at Marvin, who is fidgeting in his seat. He looked really nervous about something as he watched the previews.

Daffy reaches for popcorn but doesn't realize that Marvin was also reaching until he accidentally grabs his hand.

Just like that scene from Ratatouille, Daffy suddenly has a flashback to high school when the same situation happened. He remembered how flustered Marvin was and how much he kept apologizing. Daffy thought Marvin was adorable when he was embarrassed and would often tease him about it.

When Daffy snapped out of it, he saw a visible blush on Marvin's face.

"Sorry, you go first," Marvin said.

"No I insist you should go" Daffy found himself saying.

"No, I wasn't paying attention so you go first" Marvin said. Seeing Marvin nervous made Daffy's heart race. No, he didn't still have feelings for Marvin, did he? He's probably losing it or something is in that popcorn.

The movie begins and Daffy is chowing down on popcorn. Marvin is trying to keep his eyes focused on the screen but Daffy keeps chewing.

"Ugh, Bugs always had the worst taste in movies" Daffy says in his head. "It's only an hour though. Just gotta power through this with popcorn"

"Oh, Daffy's chewing is giving me a headache" Marvin says in his head. "I can hardly focus on the film. He's always been such a messy eater but he HATES when you point it out. You just gotta power through this one Marvin"

A scene plays in the movie where there was a couple at an airport. Very Casablanca-esque.

"I'm sorry about our past," the woman said. "But I'm ready to put that all behind and start again"

"As am I," the man said.

Marvin could feel his tears rolling down his face. He thought about high school. He thought about Daffy. He thought about their first date, at the nearby diner. They shared a milkshake and then a kiss later that day. He thought about that night in summer camp where he and Daffy snuck out to look at the stars from the roof of their cabin. He remembered not taking his eyes off Daffy because he considered him more beautiful than the stars. He remembered the two of them almost getting caught and they laughed about it later.

Then he remembers the day they broke up. How embarrassed Marvin was when Daffy dumped him during homecoming. And how he ran out of the dance crying. Just thinking about it made more tears stream down his face.

But then he remembers that Porky told Marvin what happened after he left. Daffy realized his mistake after being plumbed by peanuts and ran out after Marvin but Marvin was already gone when Daffy went looking for him. Daffy spent the rest of the dance looking for him.

Daffy did care about Marvin. If Marvin didn't leave that night, they would've made things up and still be good friends. Why did Marvin feel so guilty all of a sudden?

Daffy turned to face Marvin because he heard a sniffle and yep, Marvin was sobbing. Was it because of the movie, or was it about…

Daffy was thinking again. About what he and Marvin once had. He didn't want to admit it but deep down, he still loved Marvin. That's why he went looking for him that night. He wanted to make things right.

Daffy didn't get tears but he did feel a lump in his throat.

"Marvin…" Daffy suddenly spoke. Marvin turned his head to face him, eyes glistening from crying alongside the endless stream of tears.

"Daffy I…" Marvin managed to say. "I'm sorry. Things could've been different between us, then I went and ruined it. I ruined my relationship with you!"

Now Daffy wasn't just gonna sit there and let Marvin blame himself for things he didn't do.

"No Marvin" Daffy said through his shaky voice. "I'm sorry. I never should've embarrassed you at homecoming. I should've talked to you about it in private. Truth is… "

Daffy could feel tears forming as he spoke.

"... I still love you" Daffy said. "But I could never tell anyone. Not even Bugs. But now that we're in this poly relationship, I figured I could tell you"

If Marvin wasn't already crying, he would start now. He jumped into Daffy's arms for a hug and the two held each other for a while.

When they pulled apart, Marvin spoke.

"Can we…start all over?" Marvin said. "I promise to do better this time"

Daffy nodded.

"I don't see why not"

After the movie, Daffy and Marvin went home holding hands all the way, even in the car. They enter the house where Bugs is on the couch reading.

"So how was the movie?" Bugs said.

"It had a happy ending," Marvin said.

"Doesn't the couple start all over again?" Bugs said.

"Indeed," Marvin said.

"You set me up, rabbit," Daffy said. "You made me and Marvin go to the movies alone so we could rekindle our relationship"

"Gotem" Bugs winks before giggling.

"I have to thank you, Bugs," Marvin said. "Daffy and I were able to rekindle the flame in our relationship and I think we're gonna do things right this time. Isn't that lovely?"

"Yes it's very lovely Marvin" Bugs said.

That night, Bugs laid awake, watching his two lovers cuddling up. He smiled now that the two were making up. It would be a while before Daffy and Marvin could fix what was once their relationship but Bugs knew it would all be worth it in the end to be in a poly relationship where everyone loved each other.

He thought about it until he finally passed out. Eternal bliss.
