A/N: So to get me out of a bit of a slump and try and get the writing juices flowing again (I have been stuck on a certain part of Wrath and Ruin for the looooongest time) I decided to take part in a 15 minute prompt challenge. It's simple, you take a prompt and write what you can in 15 minutes. This is the second one of these I've done (check out 'Fragmented' to see the other) and I did much better time wise: 17 minutes! Do read on and I hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "Why are your hands purple?" "That's a good question."

"Why are your hands purple Lasseg?"

"That's a good question Thel-nin."

Rithel stared down at her baby brother for a long moment whilst Legolas, oblivious to her curious gaze, busied himself with rubbing said purple hands furiously against his tunic.

"Well?" The Crown Princess prompted when the silence stretched on.

"Hmm?" Legolas at last looked up from his now thoroughly stained tunic. "Oh…umm...it doesn't matter why Las' hands are purple."

"My hands," Rithel corrected.

"Huh?"

"You should say my hands – not Las' hands. Remember what your tutor said about referring to yourself in the third person?"

Personally, the Princess felt her brother was still a tad too young to grasp the concept but both she and her Adar had agreed to try and wrest Legolas from the habit.

Legolas for his part simply stared blankly up at her and Rithel gave up with a sigh.

"It doesn't matter Las-nin – just tell me why your hands are purple."

"As Las said Thel, your question is a good one but it is a boring one. You will be very bored by the answer and Las doesn't want to bore you."

Rithel held back a sigh of frustration then pinned her baby brother with a look. "You got into Cook's mulberries didn't you?"

The wide blue-eyed look of hunted guilt that overtook Legolas' face at her words told the exasperated Princess all she needed to know.

END.
