CHAPTER 4

I really didn't appreciate how easy it was to find information in the 21st century. I have been to several libraries and museums searching for where wakandan artifacts are stored only to discover none are kept in any American museum. I suppose I just assumed that because Bilbo Baggins was American so was the museum but I guess not. "Fuck I don't have time to make a trip to the old country" I swear rather loudly I was at the moment taking a elevator up to the top of the Gateway Arc And in the cramped quarters everyone turned at looked at me instantly. If I was still In child body I would be quite screwed but luckily the first thing I did after acquiring my powers was make myself a new body. I had aged myself up to about 19 so I now stood at 6.2 a height Chris Pratt and myself shared in my previous life a fact that greatly increased my ego. However while not ugly my face isn't by any means swoon worthy nor was my physical shape so I deferred to my new Chris Pratt look alike body on this one. I did however change my eye and hair color from dirty blonde and blue, Too black and black. Ah, finally I reached the top, I exited the elevator and walked to the edge of the observatory deck and looked down at the St.louis river. While my trip across America was mostly useless, at least I get to see some nice views. Damn I really want to pull a Percy Jackson at the moment that would be a sick jump. But I sadly cannot. I can't use vibranium to upgrade my body since I still haven't acquired it. Which means my body is just average durability while I can regenerate very fastly it has to be done consciously so a jump at the moment would most likely kill me. "Ah well probably suicidal thoughts defeated it is time to leave" I apparently say out loud. Everyone around is staring at me weirdly again. I really do need to get that under control, How long has it been since I had a friend?. Well I still have a quest to complete before I can focus on such things. Hopefully my leisure time at the concert will calm my stressed soul even temporarily. I really have been on the grindset for too long. "Here I come Kansas city" I walked away not noticing that yet again I was talking out loud.

EARTH MISSOURI KANSAS CITY JULY 6 1984

Today is the day my excitement is racing. I stand in the giant parking lot in front of Arrowhead stadium. The sun will soon set and the show will begin. I am dressed in a grown-up version (pun intended) of the clothes I wore when I ran away from home. To be honest I don't really have to sneak in. I could easily acquire tickets and just walk straight into the show. But that would be too boring. I also thought of transforming into Michael Jackson and getting in like that but I knew while fun it sadly wouldn't be practical. So instead I decided to meet them halfway and scale the stadium and watch from the roof. There aren't really any tall buildings around the stadium so I am literally just going to climb the walls. And climb I do it's really not too hard being literally peak human strength combined with finger nails I can transform into steel at will I have very little to fear. Humming the mission impossible theme I finally reach the top and pull myself onto the flattened portion of the roof. I only have too wait a few minutes before the show starts and what a show it is I'm not even sure whats happening but it looks like someone pulled the laser sword out of the stone and is fighting a mini godzilla. The gen X'ers were right, we really don't understand how wild the 80s really were. Soon I get lost in one of the most fantastic concerts I have ever been to. Granted This is only my second but I'm sure it will age phenomenally. I am brought out of my musing by a shadowy figure walking on the other side of the stadium roof. "Fuck" I exclaim under my breath as I catch sight of a rifle in there hands I guess I'm not the only time traveler here I suppose they believe the rumors and have come to kill the king of pop before he ever builds neverland. "Not on my watch" I proclaim grandly "the show must go on". I quickly slide partially down the roof out of sight of the mysterious gunmen and start running around the roof to the opposite side. Soon I turn the corner and slow down slowly inching towards the sniper. I really want to use the element of surprise to disarm him quickly or not only will Micheal Jackson die but I might as well. Creeping and climbing the last dozen feet I pull myself back onto the roof taking a few more silent steps I leap onto the gunmen. I catch him by surprise and soon we are rolling precariously on the rooftop. I knock the gun out of his hands and put him in a choke hold. He tries to resist but a minute later he is knocked out. I pull back and get a proper look at my adversary. "Fuck I screwed up again" I say mutely My mysterious foe Is just a policeman doing security "God damn it just because your in the marvel universe doesn't mean your in a marvel movie Peter". Fuck my Imagination really is wild a time traveling assassin really?. Well I suppose its not all my faultThe sick music as I fought really did make me feel like an action hero. If anyone is to blame it's whoever performed the Beat it guitar solo I mean how could I resist. "Well I should probably move this man somewhere less precarious". I quickly drag him down to a safer part of the roof and then climb the rest of the way down. "Well its not all bad this is a pretty nice gun" I say while gazing at a gorgeous bolt action rifle. I don't know when I will need this but it certainly looks cool. Slinging the rifle across my back I walk away humming Billie Jean "next stop greenland".
