Pairing: Cota x Seimei tension.
Summary:
A wolf will not entertain a mismatched rider.
What must it feel like to blubber like an idiot like Coga Cota?
Seimei tried Cota's catchphrase for himself. It didn't suit the silent sniper, naturally, but Seimei felt it wasn't a bad feeling to have.
It felt good. It felt relaxing, not to have to question a so-called teammate's motives. There was a warm truth behind the statement. A light and fire that couldn't be corrupted, whether bought, blackmailed, or genuinely convinced of a cause, by whichever side you found yourself on – protecting the BMA or destroying it.
Seimei had straddled that line. Taken orders from both Hocari Io and Hocari Machiko, who were working together but not-so-secretly stabbing each other in the back.
But they couldn't ride on the wolf's back without hostility or a little backstabbing from Seimei himself.
Compare that to Coga Cota, who agreed to help Hocari Io. Yet for him, he wasn't sucked into the intrigue. For him, the "fizz" of Bottle Battling always won out. The middle of a major crisis, and he could still stop to Bottle Battle a regular opponent!
Seimei had enough of backstabbing. The personal backstabbing he'd survived, yet there was this thing able to soften his hardened heart!
He bit back at Io and Machiko, as a wolf naturally did, but this wolf didn't mind Coga Cota on his back.
When Coga Cota said his catchphrase, Seimei couldn't muzzle the giggle under his mask.
Exciting, open, and optimistic. So this is what it felt like to be that idiot most of the time! To disregard drama and destruction and just Bottle Battle for the "fizz" of it. No agendas. No agents.
Solely, the soul of the sport.
