Two months later

Mika walked the isles of the baby store with a full eight months belly and a list in her hand. Bose followed next to her with a shopping cart filled with newborn necessities. "Awh, this is so cute," Mika gushed showing Bose a white onesie with cookies on it. "I can see them rocking this to sleep," Bose agreed and Mika held the onesie to her chest in excitement before adding it to the cart. They stopped walking and Mika went over the list out loud.

"Adorable clothes and shoes, check"

"Baby lotion, shampoo, and body wash, check"

"Wipes and Diapers, check,"

"Pacifiers, check"

"Towels, check,"

"Dressers and bins for my place, check"

"Toys, check,"

"Car seat...missing," Mika read. Bose looked around and gestured to the far left of them, " I think they're over there,".

They made their over and were searching for which car seat they wanted until Mika let out a small pant. She took a deep breath and placed gentle hands on her bump. Contractions, she's been having them more recently. Bose looked over and saw her troubled expression. He instantly went beside her and laid a hand on her lower back, "You okay?". "Mhm," Mika closed her eyes and nodded but the cramp spread higher. Usually, she would just breathe through them but this one hurt the most.

"Open your eyes and focus on me," Bose told her and she did. "Okay, now breath with me," Bose put his hand on her shoulder. Mika looked into Bose's eyes and did what he said. They built up a pattern to their breathing and Mika started to relax. "Good, now take a long exhale," Bose advised and she did. Mika felt a little better. "Thank you," Mika caught her breath. "Please this is the least i can do," Bose remarked and Mika smiled and then tip-toed to kiss his cheek. She looked over the car seats and pointed to one on the top shelf for Bose to get.

Once they got everything they needed, they went to the cashier and Bose paid for their stuff. He also carried everything to the car even though Mika insisted it wouldn't kill her to carry at least one bag. Bose didn't let Mika do anything he couldn't do when he was with him. He was extremely overprotective of her. Bose treated her like she was made of glass and she was the most priceless thing known to mankind.

When they got to the car Bose put everything inside. Then he opened the car door for Mika, took her hand, and helped her into the passenger seat. Bose got into the driver's seat and helped Mika with her seatbelt, it made her blush that he always did this now. "Where do you want to go eat tonight," he asked her. Mika thought about what she ate for breakfast, sausages with jam, turns out she also wasn't excused from weird pregnancy cravings.

"Can we go to Applebees?", Mika lively clapped her hand, and Bose grinned, "To Applebees we go,". He was willing to buy her everything on the menu at any restaurant she choose, after all, she was eating for two.

Mika spent the day at Bose's house painting. Bose had two extra rooms in his house and Ceila said they could use one for a nursery. They decided to go with a light gray with some baby blue and dark purple. They'd been working on it for a few days and they just finished. Mika found it calming being away from her restless household and painting cute little doves.

After the gender reveals disaster her parents ignored her for an entire month because she 'embarrassed' them in front of their entire family. She had to depend on Miles to help her when at home and he did a great job. But later on, the tension started to defuse, she even went to grab lunch with her Dad last week. But she knew they still disapproved of her decision.

Bose had to leave midway because he had work. His stepdad hired him at the office to be his 'second in command' which really just meant personal assistant. Celia actually talked Willard into it because she hoped it would be another way for Bose and Willard to bond. It's not that they didn't get along but things between them were too impartial for her liking. Bose took the job because it paid well and he figured it would be a good way to earn some extra money.

He was only seventeen, but he really wanted to be the one to provide for Mika and their child as much as he could. It was a responsibility he was ready to take on from the start.

When Mika came home from another long day she still had some paint stains on her overalls. She went into the kitchen to get herself something to eat, then went into her room to change and finish some extra credit work she was falling behind on.

After Mika finished a few assignments, she went into her closet and got two bags filled with baby clothes. She sat on her bed and spread the clothes out. She pushed her lower lip out into a pout because the clothes were so tiny and cute. She already packed her hospital bag with Bose but every now and then she thought of something to add. Mika picked out a small light purple hat and put it to the side. She beamed imagining how everything would look on her baby girl.

She took a sip of her orange juice and then put it on a coaster that was on the nightstand. Her eyes landed on a pink stuffed teddy bear and when she reached for it she heard a knock on the door. "Come in," she said.

Angela walked in seeing Mika separating small clothing. She sat on the edge of her bed and Mika scooted over to make room for her. "So, you're a few weeks away from giving birth, how are you feeling hon?" Her Mom asked. "I feel ready," Mika continued what she was doing. "Are you sure? Usually, women go through so much during this phase of pregnancy, not just physically, but mentally too, it's good to clear your head to understand what this all really means," Angela advised. Mika blankly stared at her Mom, she was talking in code.

"Mom, stop. I know this is about you wanting me to consider adoption because you think i can't handle this, but i can and i just want you for even a second to try to see things from my point of view," Mika expressed. When was she going to realize that this was more than about her? It was about Bose too.

Angela flared her nostrils. She and Herm have always admired Mika's strong will but now it was going to be the reason that she changed her life for the worse. It wasn't that they didn't think she couldn't handle it, they didn't think she should be handling it. Angela got up from her bed, overlapped her cardigan, and crossed her arms. She hoped it wouldn't come to this.

"Mika i want you to listen to me very carefully. You have a bright future and this is you throwing your whole life away. I am trying to do what's best for you, what's best for Bose, what's best for the baby but you're being so stubborn," Angela claimed.

"However, you obviously think you're old enough to make these type of decisions. If you want to be grown, then you're grown. So i tell you this, when your baby is born you may continue to live in this house. We'll pay for formulas and doctor visits but know that I and your father will not be involved in raising this child. Physically and emotionally you will be alone, we will not babysit, we will not change diapers, we will not keep up with the feeding schedule, and we will not wake up in the middle of the night for any crying," Angela guaranteed.

Mika swallowed an aching lump in her throat and tears threatened to fall from her eyes but she didn't let them. She took the time to process her vow.

"You. Are. Alone,". Angela repeated in a cold tone.

Mika nodded her head and chewed her lower lip. If that's how strongly they felt about this then she wasn't not going to try to change their minds, maybe one-day things will be different. Mika cleared her throat, she was still holding the teddy bear in her hand.

"Then i guess I'm alone," Mika said with all the passion in her heart. There was no point in being spiteful. Angela said no more and promptly left her daughters room.

Mika would not give them her tears. They would not scare her away from this. She wasn't alone, as long as Bose stood by her and loved her, she was not alone and never would be.

)))))))

Toilets have been Mika's best friend for nine months now.

Mika hunched over the toilet sitting on the bathroom floor as this was her new normal. Bose's bathroom was so much nicer than hers. "Alright, so i got pyridoxine and doxylamine, which one do you want?" Bose walked into the bathroom with a small towel over his shoulder. "I don't care just shut up and make this stop," Mika lazily moved her head around. "Whatever you say," Bose said amused putting down the pyridoxine and opening the doxylamine.

Mika's increased hormones made her overly emotional, whiny and easily irritated. Which is why she slept over at Bose's house, every little thing her family did would vex her. She didn't like when anyone besides Bose saw her so vulnerable. Bose dealt with it and never made her feel like she was being dramatic or mean. This was all a part of the process, it'll all be worth it very soon.

"This is disgusting," Mika groaned, that last spew took the energy out of her. "I feel disgusting, I'm a walking bag of vomit and-", Mika whined but then felt a wave of puke come up her throat. Her head was quickly drawn back to the toilet. "Shit," Bose cursed under his breath and went to hold her hair back. He rubbed her back as she emptied her stomach. Bose wished he could do more, he felt guilty that this was all on her.

"Oh the horror, my poor esophagus," Mika cried out, she looked back at Bose and said, "Now I'm hungry again,".

"Let's get you some tea first and then wait for a little until you can eat again," Bose insisted.

Bose helped Mika stand up and she rinsed her mouth with mouthwash and water. However, the aftertaste was still in her gullet.

Bose took Mika's hand and guided her to his bed, he fluffed some pillows to make her more comfortable. "I'm huge," He heard her exclaim. Bose turned his back on her and poured two pills into his palm, then reached for the water on his dresser. "Here," He gave it to Mika and she sat up to take her medication. As Mika swallowed the pills with some water, Bose stood over her. He held her head and pressed a kiss on top of her head, "You're so gorgeous," he complimented. Mika rolled her eyes annoyed, "I'm nine months prego, my feet are swollen, i have bags under my eyes, stretch marks running up my thighs and you just saw me regurgitate yesterday's dinner, lunch, and breakfast,".

Bose laughed and then got on his knees as Mika laid her head on the pillow. "And you look good doing it," He complimented again as he started to give her a foot rub. Mika hummed. Can't he see that she was trying to be in a bad mood, why does he have to be so perfect?

Mika felt a flutter in her stomach, but this time it was different, it felt weird. Mika sat up as fast as she could and looked at her bump. "What's wrong," Bose asked still rubbing her feet. "I- i think i felt a kick," Mika grinned looking from her bump to Bose and back to her bump. Bose got off his knees to sit next to her. "Are you serious?" Bose questioned in excitement. Mika nodded and Bose lifted her shirt to reveal her bump. Mika still felt the small foot in her womb, she took Bose's hand and brought it to where she felt the kicks. "Oh my god," he whispered.

She knew that a baby can feel what the mother does so she tried not to be sad most of the time, she didn't want to upset her baby. She would talk to her womb on many occasions, read it bedtime stories, and would even put place earphones on her bump and blast some classical music. Mika heard it stimulates brain development, improves IQ, and spurs creativity in children. She thinks the baby likes it because she would feel her move around.

Mika's always said she felt movement in her womb but never anything that felt like a kick. This was exhilarating for them, especially for Mika. True, she's heard that sometimes the kicks can be painful but she still wanted to know what one would feel like. She feared she would miss out on such a milestone because her due date was fastly approaching.

Mika and Bose watch her smooth bump carefully when Mika's belly started to stretch right were Bose's hand was. Their eyes widened, "This feels so weird," Mika stated.

"They can feel me," Bose was astonished. His baby was reaching out to him. Mika's bump got lumpy as the baby moved around stretching her skin, it hurt Mika a little but she pushed it to the back of her head because this was the coolest thing she'd seen in real life. "Don't worry, you're almost here," Mika spoke to her bump. Bose softly smiled and kissed every part he saw movement in and Mika felt butterflies, or maybe it was the fetus rolling around in her stomach.

Their family was going to be perfect.
