Isadora Lula O'Brien was born on February 12th at 8:46 pm, weighing five pounds and eight ounces.

After seven long hard hours of labor, their baby girl was finally here. Mika thought it would never end. Two main reasons she pushed through were because she had her mom talk her through convulsions and Bose reminded her of how this was going to be a special moment after it was over. They were the only two Mika wanted in the delivery room beside the occasional drop in's from Chapa. Mika lashed out at Bose at random times and then she would start crying because she was being mean to him. But Bose didn't take anything personally, obviously, she had a lot on her plate.

Bose looked like he was hanging on for dear life when delivery actually started and the doctors asked him a few times if he was sure he didn't feel faint. Bose shook his head, he did feel faint. But he had to stay vital for Mika, and that's what he did until the baby was finally delivered.

The second the doctor handed the newborn to Mika she mustered up all the love and affection she had in her as she held her baby close. The pain, sweat, blood, and tears were all worth it. For Bose, when he held his baby for the first time, a strong desire to protect and care for her is what emerged.

"Hi Isadora, we've been waiting for you," Mika cooed teary-eyed, holding the little hand of the crying baby. Bose warped one arm around Mika and carefully stroked Isadora's dark curly hair, she was covered in vernix but she was still the most gorgeous baby he'd ever seen. "Happy Birthday, Adora," Bose tenderly felt the skin on the baby's other hand.

Mika enjoyed her quiet alone time with Adora while everyone was getting situated. Miles took Chapa home, her parents were getting her papers in order, and Bose assumed Bose was with her parents or still on the phone with Celia. Mika looked away from the sweet baby and at all the balloons, flowers, and gifts Ceila brought in for her. Celia couldn't pull herself together when she met her grandchild, "Isadora O'Brien, it's perfect," Ceila had said.

Mika could hear Chapa's voice in her head later on when she learns that the baby had Bose's last name. "As a feminist, i rebuke that. I mean you're the one who did all the hard work but he's the one that gets to slap his name on a piece of paper and gets the baby's legitimacy?!"..."But's that just what i think, you do you girl,".

Bose suggested they hyphenate Adora's last name to Macklin - O'Brien, but Mika wanted their baby to have only his last name. With the way her parents treated and acted toward her during her pregnancy, she didn't think they deserved the honor of their last name bestowed on her little girl.

Mika also believed that in the near future she and Bose would get married and she wanted them all to have the same name, so It'll save them a ton of paperwork.

Mika went back to watching her baby and Adora blinked softly. Adora smiled and Mika's heart went soaring, her baby knew who mommy was. Mika giggled leaning down to kiss her forehead.

Then Adora's tiny fist started moving to her mouth. Mika noticed her staring to suck on her fist and she knew that was a sign that she was hungry. "Is your little belly hungry baby?" Mika asked fixing her bunched-up white onesie with cookies on it. "Okay then, let's get you fed," Mika reached for the opening slit on the side of her gown, then unbuttoned it to the shoulder which caused that side of her gown to fall apart, just enough to expose her right breast.

Mika placed the thumb of her free hand on top of her breast and then her other fingers below it. Breastfeeding was something Mika was dreading and looking forward to all at once. On one hand, she was told it could really hurt, plus the thought of blisters, plugged milk ducts, and sore nipples terrified her. But on the other hand, it's really beneficial for babies because not only does it keep them healthy but the mother as well, it increases brain power, and the skin-to-skin helps the mother and child connect. For Mika, the pros overpowered the cons. Whatever it takes to protect her baby.

Her nipples were still sensitive but she held Adora closer to them and brushed it against her lips to encourage her to open her mouth. "Open up sweetheart," Mika kindly spoke to her, it didn't take long for Adora to latch on. Mika felt some small discomfort.

Technically this wasn't the first time her nubs had been in someone's mouth.

Adora gave her nub a small tug and Mika held her breast higher to pump more milk. "Take it easy there, I'm fragile," Mika joked with her.

After some time, Mika heard the doorknob click and saw Bose coming in. "Hey, there are my two favorite people," Bose announced, he was carrying two brown paper bags as he strolled over to them. "Don't tell Miles i said that," Bose gave Mika a kiss on the cheek.

Bose saw Adora with her eyes open and was overjoyed, "She's awake! i was starting to think she was avoiding me,". Mika laughed, Adora had been asleep for nearly two hours before and Bose didn't want to step out just yet because he wanted to be there when she woke up. "Don't worry you didn't miss much, she's only been up for a few, i think the hunger got to her, "Mika explained. Bose smiled while tickling Adora and she unlatched Mika's nub to beam at her Dad.

Bose stopped so she could go back to feeding and reached inside one of the brown bags, "I brought you some chicken soup, i wasn't sure if it was safe for you to eat solid food yet,". Bose put the soup on the table next to her and Mika thanked him. "Even if i could, i doubt I'd want to, it'll go right through me," Mika handed Adora to Bose carefully then took the soup from the table. There was a small couch on the other side of Mika and Bose went to go sit with Adora as Mika started to slurp her soup.

Bose played with Adora's small fist taking in how precious his daughter was. He couldn't describe how it felt now that she was here. He loves Mika unconditionally, and the love he felt for Adora was also unconditional but in a much more complex way. Bose sighed and brought his face closer to Adora's, his forehead touching her tiny one. Mika made sure to snap a quick picture to make it last longer and Bose didn't notice.

"Thank you," She heard Bose utter to her.

"For what?" Mika asked licking the taste of chicken off her lips.

"For everything, for her," Bose wanted Mika to know how much he really appreciated her and there was no way he could ever repay her for this gift, his Isadora.

Mika blushed, "Pleasure doing business with you," she saluted him and Bose saluted her back.

A child bounding them for life, they truly were stuck with each other now but it wasn't like they were going anywhere in the first place.
