Evan
I sighed when Jacobs arrived.
Violet was pissed.
Boden
Severide, Reiter, and Herrmann walked out.
"Primary search is complete. PAR is all good." Herrmann informed.
Cruz walked out with one of the workers.
"All Firefighters are clear."
"Okay. Let's go defensive. Bring out the water cannon."
"You got it, Chief."
Gallo, Kidd, and Capp came out of the building.
Evan
Violet was just pissed as she was helping Brett.
I banged on the door of an ambo, signaling it was okay for them to go.
The siren wailed as the Ambo pulled away.
I was ignoring Jacobs.
The theater door was opened.
It was a guy.
He was groaning and coughing.
Violet ran over there, having finished helping Brett.
Violet
"Hey. Hey, hey, hey." I told the guy, squatting down in front of him.
"Come on."
I gave him my hand.
"Come on."
"What's your name?" I questioned.
"Gabriel."
Gabriel coughed.
"Okay, Gabriel. Gabriel."
I stood up.
"Let's go."
Evan
"Chief Boden."
Boden looked over.
"Looks like Violet needs help with a victim over there."
Violet
Gabriel was gripping my hand as he was trying to get up.
"That's it. That's it." I told him.
I looked up when I heard rumbling.
The building collapsed.
Evan
We all stared as the building came down on Violet and the guy.
"Mayday!" Boden called into his radio.
All of the Firefighters rushed over there.
"Mayday! North side!" He called into his radio.
They were moving pieces of cement aside.
"We got two! Mikami and a victim!" Boden said into his radio.
I was shocked.
I ran over there.
"Come on!" Severide ordered.
"Get in there." Boden ordered.
"Easy, easy."
He was moving a piece.
"Watch it, watch it, watch it! Watch it." He cautioned Boden.
"Got him!"
Violet had got the person in front of her before the building came down.
"Severide!" Boden called.
"Backboard!" Severide ordered.
"Coming in!" Capp informed.
"C-Collar!"
"Lieutenant!"
Severide took it from Cruz.
He put it around the old guy's neck.
"Lift him."
"Oh, God. Oh. God."
"Okay. Easy, easy." Gallo told me.
"One, two, three."
They lifted him up onto the gurney.
"Easy, easy." Kidd cautioned.
"One, two, three."
Brett rolled him away.
"Back, back!" Boden ordered me.
They were moving pieces of cement away.
"Got her!" Kidd announced.
"Keep working, guys!" Cruz ordered.
"Watch your step." Carver warned.
"Keep working!"
"Got to get her clear!"
"Sliding down."
"Gotta get these doors out of here."
They passed the doors down the line.
"Don't press!"
"Watch it, watch it, watch it!" Boden ordered as they moved the last piece of cement.
"Watch it! Careful!" He cautioned when they moved it aside.
"Get out, get out, get out!" I yelled at them.
Brett moved aside.
"Move, move! Go!"
I got down there.
I felt Violet's wrist for a pulse.
I felt her neck.
I ripped Violet's shirt open.
I was performing CPR on her.
"Come on, Violet. Come on, Violet. Talk to me, Violet. Come on. Talk to me."
I continued doing CPR.
"Just talk to me. Talk to me, Violet. Talk to me. Please, please, please."
Gallo looked down.
"Please."
Kidd adjusted her helmet.
"Please. Please. Come on, Violet."
I continued doing CPR.
"Violet, talk to me. Come on. Talk to me."
Brett looked up at Boden.
"Come on. Come on."
I continued doing CPR.
"Please, God, please!"
He leaned down.
"Please, Violet, please!"
Boden grabbed me.
"Please! No, no! I can do it!"
"Let them work."
"I can save her, please."
He held me back.
"No!"
"Let them work. Let them work."
"No, Violet!"
"Let them work."
"No."
"One, two, three."
They lifted Violet onto the backboard.
Her eyes were wide open.
"No!"
They were carrying Violet away.
"No. No. No!"
"She was just looking at me." I told Boden.
"Mm-hmm."
"Please, Chief, let me try."
"I got you."
"No! No, no! No!"
Boden continued holding me back.
"No, no, no, no, no."
They loaded her into Ambo 61.
Brett got in the back.
She shut the doors.
"Sorry." Brett mouthed to me.
She hooked up the heart machine.
"Shock delivered."
"Come on, V."
Brett hit the button again.
"Shock delivered."
"V, come on."
She hit the button again.
"Last time, V. Fight like hell."
"Shock delivered."
You heard a gasp.
"God damn, Violet. You gave all of us a damn heart attack."
Boden let go of me.
I got up in Ambo 61.
Violet smiled at me.
"I can't..."
"Give me a rundown."
"I can't... Feel the whole left side of my body."
"I'm getting you to Med. Now. Chief, watch her."
"Yeah."
I held Violet's right hand.
"What if I don't get feeling back in my left hand?"
"That's up to the Paramedic Field Chief."
"Let's hope this one isn't as much of an ass as you were." Violet joked.
You heard Brett laughing.
"I love you. I don't want you to ever question that, Evan. I love you, not Gallo."
"She doesn't like to see any of our Firefighters get hurt. It's not just Gallo."
"I'm gonna handle Jacobs. I swear."
"If I can't be a Paramedic, somebody has to replace me."
"Stop. Stop."
