Howling Moon
Chapter 1: Meeting the Out-Cast
Year: 2019
Location: Stehekin, Washington
Stehekin was a small unincorporated community in Chelan County, Washington; the third largest state area in the Washington State. An unincorporated community meant that it was a place or region that wasn't governed by a local municipal corporation. Stehekin was part of the Wenatchee-East Wenatchee Metropolitan Statistical Area. Located at the northwest end of Lake Chelan, it lied just sound of the North Cascades National Park. It was within Lake Chelan National Recreation Area; a unit administered by the National Park Service. The sights in Stehekin included the Buckner Homestead Historic District, the Golden West Visitor Center, Stehekin Pastry Company, the one-room Stehekin school, the 312' Rainbow Falls, and Harlequin Bridge. The whole area was visited by hikers and bikers in the summer, and snowshoers and skiers in the winter, as well as photographers year-round. It was only accessible to ferries, making the area completely isolated from the world. Surrounding Stehekin was Lake Chelan, which you could take ferry or private boat. Though most could probably make it by foot over Cascade Pass, by floatplane, or by small aircraft via a turf airstrip open from June to September, or by horseback, hiking, and flying. There were mountains on the sides and trees at each end of Stehekin, and due to the lake, also made it a popular place for fishing. It was a forest paradise for those who wanted to be isolated from the world and just wanted to be left alone.
But lately, it had been up and abandoned for some time, as the area was vastly uncared for. Mostly because it had become harder to cross due to half of the Stehekin Valley Road being washed out by the nearby river. Thus, access via Cascade Pass became more difficult, adding as much as 10 miles to the already strenuous trek. With nature taking over all over it. The only thing that was slightly maintained was a log-cabin camping area about as big as a small town, with 2-4 floor high cabins either built on flat land or next to a hill facing the forest, making the lower levels like basements or entry ways to the forest. There was barely any power, unless you had a genni, no running faucet water unless you get the main water open, and all in all nobody there.
It was a rotten way to have any lifestyle at all.
But it was still perfect for some. Adn would be perfect for others coming to soon now.
Location:
Stehekin Ferry Docks
At that moment, a ferry boat, labeled the Lady of the Lake, was making its way through the waters, as it reached shore. It was the only ferry boat still available for some odd reason. Once it docked, the main drive port opened at the nose of the ship, and locked onto the dock. A fellow with a bushy mustache and dressed like a Cajun, walked up as he smiled, "Alright, everybody! Stehekin is here! Enjoy your new home, folks."
At that moment, nearly ten or fifteen vehicles drove out of there, as he smiled, waving at them all. And as they left the trail on vehicles, he smiled, as he walked back, "I'm sure Misha will love the company."
Later On
Forest Roadway
AS the vehicles made their way through, in the rear, a black Subaru Station Wagon was in behind. In it were only two occupants. The one at the driver's seat was a sixteen-year-old guy; his skin was Caucasian with a little bit of tan to it, his figure was fit and slim for a guy his age, his hair was ice blue, possibly a dye job or natural, short but had bangs in the front combed to the right sticking out with a cowlick in behind. He was wearing blue jeans with black and blue sneakers, with a Black long- sleeve shirt on, and a dark blue T-shirt hoodie with white sleeves and a front pocket, with a black jacket tied around his waist, with a black watch on. His name was Max Thompson, a kid trying to find his way through life as he got thrown out of his home.
In the passenger seat looking out at all the nature around her. She was a young Asian girl of sixteen, pale skin and long flowing black hair that was silky and shiny, with auburn brown eyes in the traditional Asian size and shape; small and slits, but big enough to see their beauty, and her hair going down to her lower back, with a long bang parted in the right side of her head, and cascading down to her shoulders like waterfalls. She had an amazing frame; slender and slim to showcase her hidden C cup chest. She was wearing a white turtleneck with a midriff, with a pink and black midriff hoodie jacket on, black tight athletic pants and pink and white sneakers. To Max, she was a goddess beyond anything. Her name was Pearl Cho, and like him, she too was kicked out by her parents for being a slacker.
Though for Max, he wasn't actually thrown out for being a slacker. He actually left for other reasons. Reasons he wasn't ready to disclose to Pearl just yet.
Though his thoughts were interrupted, as Pearl spoke up, looking ot him with a smile, "This place has so many trees. It's beautiful, right, Max?"
He glanced at her a bit as he kept his eyes on the road, "Sure is. The place is actually pretty cheap as there's rumors of natural methane pockets underneath hooked to the houses. Meaning we've got gas powered heaters and ovens, so that's a good thing."
Pearl smiled at that as she joked, "No wifi though."
"Not yet at least," he joked back. But a moment later between them, Max then looked in concern to her and asked, "You sure about this? I left for my own reasons, but you…"
"My dad's a real pushy jerk. I do my best in class and in life. Sure it's not up to his expectations, but then again, who in his right mind forgets his daughter's birthday five years in a row," Pearl lamented.
But then she looked to him and asked, "So.. why did you leave, if you weren't kicked out?"
"They weren't my real parents," he answered, earning a surprised look on her face. "I was adopted at a very young age, and they only ever told me this when I turn sixteen, when I needed a blood transfusion from an accident. And it turns out… I wasn't compatible with any of my parents."
Pearl looked at him sympathetically as she mumbled, "Bummer. So that's why you decided to go to this place?"
"Stehekin is actually a pretty remote and beautiful place," Max defended as they continued to follow the caravan of vehicles. It's quiet, away from the world.."
"And we'll be staying in the same cabin together with no nosy parents or restrictions," Pearl smiled, as she almost teased a bit.
But both blushed as they realized what that entailed on it, as they looked away, blushing on this. Here they were, driving in Pearl's wagon, going to somewhere where they would live together like college students. Alone. With no one to restrict them or keep them apart. And both unaware of the fact that one of them had feelings for the other and the other aware of it but uncertain of their feelings.
They finally made their way to the center near a log cabin area, to which each vehicle took a home.
Max and Pearl stopped near a two floor level cabin facing the woods with the back having four levels going down a hill. It was a nice-looking place for the two. As they exited their car, they looked around and saw their next door neighbor pull up in a black Explorer, as the only occupants were a mother and her two daughters.
The mother was an African American woman in her thirties, caramel brown skin, a lovely figure with D cup breasts, her brown hair reaching her midback with a few gray streaks, and brown eyes. She wore a white button-up blouse with a black jacket and pencil skirt, black pantyhose and shoes to boot, making her a businesswoman of sorts. She was Mercedes Monroe, the real-estate agent planning to bring life back to the community.
The two girls exiting the car were twins, but were different from day as was to night. Both were sixteen like Max and Pearl, physically fit with C cup chests, caramel brown skin as well, with brown eyes. But one of them had a ponytail while the other had their hair cut to their shoulders. The latter was wearing a black midriff tank top that showed off her tight chest and stomach, black cargo pants that reached to her ankles with white socks, black and orange sneakers, a baggy black midriff jacket with orange shoulders, hoodie, and forearm patches. The ponytail one had a yellow baggy turtleneck with a brown skirt, black pantyhose and black combat boots. They were Amaia and Aina Monroe, the brainy sister and sporty sister.
Across from Max and Pearl's home from the street, another station wagon had pulled up and the occupants were leaving as well. In the car coming out were three girls of Max and Pearl's age.
The girl to the left was a Caucasian female with a slender slim frame with a flat chest, but tomboyish cut blonde hair with bangs in the front, and had green eyes; her body frame said that she was physically fit. She was wearing a blue and white jumpsuit for working out with yellow and black sneakers. She was Renea Rodriguez.
The second girl in the middle was Caucasian, but with light tanned skin, and brown flowing but curly hair that reached her midback, with brown eyes, and a gap in her front teeth on the upper jaw. She had a slender body but killer at some parts, with the H cup chest, but hid it while wearing an orange sweater. She wore orange and brown shoes, and wore glasses as well. Her attire was the orange sweater, a baggy khaki brown skirt that went below her knees, and orange and brown sneakers, while she pulled out a backpack. Her name was Emmy Dinkleson.
The third girl was African American, of the same age, with lighter skin though. She had Fern Green hair that reached down to her back but was tied up in an upper ponytail, with a bang combed over to the right, with green eyes. She wore black and green sneakers, a black tank top that clung to her H cup chest, blue jeans that were too tight, a green hoodie jacket, and a green watch with the uniform as well. Her name was Kizzy Danvers.
The other vehicles picked other places, but kept out of sight. As they did, Max looked around at the place as he leaned on the open side of his driver's side, smiling, "I don't know why, but I got a good feeling about this place. Kinda weird though."
Pearl walked towards him adn leaned on his side next to him, smiling at him and the forest, "I think you're right."
Though from afar, hidden as they watched from the forest, was an individual silhouetted from the cloudy skies. The figure was female with an amazing body, with long dark brown hair that cascaded down her butt, but from the light it seemed she was naked. Though all that could be made out with her was a smile as she saw people coming into this town. She then gently pulled back to the forest, as she awaited her chance.
