Leonardo grunted in pain, pushing himself up with his free hand. With little success, the other was clutching his bleeding side, as he was doing his best to prevent the blood from flowing out.

"They called you Hero Boy, right?" Karai's voice hissed in his ear as she grabbed his head and forced Leonardo to face her. Leonardo's breath hitched as he did his best to hold back any sound suggesting pain, but it was difficult. Silently, he was scolding himself for failing so quickly. Instead of giving her the satisfaction of a response, he silently glared as he did his best to think of any way to escape while dealing with the internal lecture in his head.

"Fine. If you don't want to tell me about your cute nickname, we can depart here." She murmured, staring at Leonardo, who didn't respond. He was determined not to.

"It's such a shame that this is going to be our final interaction, but whatever." She scoffed, letting go of his head. Leonardo barely managed to catch himself, having fallen like a ragdoll to the ground, nearly busting his head open. He would grit his teeth but held his tongue. Karai frowned as he didn't speak. It was disappointing, the lack of conversation made this uninteresting, but she had to get out of there before the other turtles arrived. She turned away, glancing back at Leonardo.

"Let's see if you survive this one, hero boy." She spoke in a callous tone, before exiting the abandoned warehouse through an open window, as the only exits were blocked by wooden boards and caution tape. Leonardo raised his head, staring at the window as it closed before pushing himself up, cautiously. He felt dizzy from the swift loss of blood, caused by Karai. He remembered how she had suddenly snatched him while the battle was raging around him, and even when he cried out, the others couldn't hear him over the sounds of thunder and blasts coming from the Kraangdroids. He could still hear the thunder right now, roaring outside and around him. He looked around the warehouse, which was cluttered with crates, stacks of wood, boxes, and a conveyor belt that looked like it could use a few repairs. Leonardo then noticed a ticking sound that he must've been ignoring until now. Glancing over the conveyor belt again, he saw a bomb counting down.

Leonardo audibly gasped, looking around desperately. Panic and adrenaline were already high from the deep gash in his side caused by Karai's wakizashi, but it was no doubt increased by the ticking bomb. He looked at the window, leaped onto a large stack of crates, then tried to push the window open. A latch on the outside kept it locked. He looked back at the bomb

It was too late. He felt tears forming in his eyes as he desperately tried to shatter the glass with no success.

"He couldn't have gone far!" Michelangelo looked around, but he obviously wouldn't spot their missing brother with just a simple glance around. Raphael held back the urge to snap at him for his stupidity with no success.

"Well, duh, but you're not going to find him like that!" He scolded him, seething as he looked around.

"You're doing the same thing!" Michelangelo cried, right as Raphael spotted an abandoned warehouse. This is where Leonardo would be, something told him so.

"Come on." He responded instead, leaping onto the next rooftop. As Donatello and Michelangelo prepared to leap after him, the building exploded. Raphael heard a gasp, before realizing it had come from him. He broke into a run towards the ruins of the building, the rain already doing its magic and putting the fire out that raged from the explosion. It was a miracle no buildings were close to the warehouse, but there was an obvious reason for this. And Raphael worried it had something to do with his brother. He jumped down the fire escape stairs, missing a few to be quicker, and onto the pavement in another alley. He was right across the street from the ruined building, but someone grabbed his shoulder before he could take off. Donatello.

"The tracker on his t-phone says he's in the rubble," Donatello confirmed what Raphael already expected. But why was Donatello looking so solemn?

"Slow down, Raph, you're running too quickly!" Michelangelo whined behind Donatello as Donatello gave Raphael a meaningful look. Raphael wasn't in the mood to try and understand his brother's obsolete expression, his brother was possibly in the ruins! They had to rescue him. He shrugged his hand off, looking back across the street before darting out quickly. He could care less about remaining hidden, especially considering the street seemed empty. Raphael ignored the rain as he dug through the rubble, desperate to find any trace of his brother. After a few seconds, Michelangelo and Donatello were helping him, searching through the rubble for their blue-clad brother with little success. Five minutes of digging found nothing. Until Michelangelo excitedly spoke, shouting for Donatello and Raphael to come to check this out. Raphael hoped 'this' would turn out to be Leonardo, which, his hope was a reality, as Michelangelo had found Leonardo partially buried under some boxes. The fire had scorched their brother, despite how swiftly they and the rain had reacted to the explosion and flames. Raphael leaned over him.

"Is he breathing?" He asked Donatello, who was checking his pulse at that moment. Donatello frowned, then nodded.

"He's got a pulse." He confirmed, and Michelangelo cheered. Raphael frowned, leaning down and scooping Leonardo up easily despite how heavy Leonardo was. "Let's get him home, I'll call April and maybe she'll know what to do to help." Donatello continued, seemingly brightening slightly at this luck. Leonardo was alive. Everything was going to be okay.
