"From now on, Riku, you will listen to me and only me. Any hint of failure, and it will be your head. Do I make myself clear?"
Her words were bruising and cutting, ice-cold, and he bristled with every sentence she uttered. He spoke and acquiesced to her every order, dutifully, calm and self-assured as he could.
Riku's hands clenched into fists, his legs threatening to give way, kneeling before his Master.
He nodded. "Yes, milady."

Until then, he gazed up at Zero, and he bowed his head in reverence.
Zero smiled hearing her servant's words, an affirming noise her one answer.
Riku narrowed his eyes, and he stood up to his feet, turning to attend what matters lay ahead for him.
