One of us

After returning to their homes to get their Digimon partners, Mokuba, Rebecca, and Leon met up again in the Secret Garden. Mokuba and Rebecca decided to take their partners to the clubhouse while Leon and Labramon would go to the thicket where the door to Victorian London was hidden. The redhead and the canine-like Digimon crawled through the narrow opening and made it inside. Then they passed through the door and found themselves back in London.

It made Leon laugh to see himself as a mouse again. He also wondered how much time had passed here since he had been back home in his world. Well, there was only one way to find out. He walked through the front door of the toyshop. "Olivia, Mr. Flaversham," he called out. "It's me."

Hiram turned around and saw his apprentice at the entrance. "Oh, Leon, you're back," he said happily. He approached the redhead and ruffled his hair. "I thought you had gone home to your world."

"I did," Leon told him. "I've been at home for a week."

"Really," Hiram asked, rubbing his chin. "You and your friends left barely a few minutes ago."

"It's only been a few minutes?" Leon asked. He was glad that time had stood still in this world while he was back home in his world. "Good," he said, sounding relieved. "I mean, well, you see, time moves differently between worlds. So as it passes for me back home in my world, it slows down here and in the other worlds."

"I see," the toymaker mused.

"Leon?" Olivia's voice asked. The toymaker turned around and saw his daughter coming into the shop. Her face beamed as she saw her best friend. "Leon, you came back!" she said happily, running up to hug him.

Leon caught her in his arms and began hugging her as well. "I wanted to see you and your father again. I missed you both." He moved closer and whispered in her ear, "And I have someplace I want to show you." He released her and asked Hiram, "Mr. Flaversham, would it be all right if I took Olivia with me to the Secret Garden? I have some new places I want to show her."

"Please, Daddy," Olivia asked. "Can I please go with Leon?"

Hiram thought about it. From what he had been told, the Secret Garden was a safe place and no possible harm would come to his daughter there. Plus, it had stopped raining just now. "Well,"

"Please?" the children asked, smiling and stretching the word.

How could the toymaker say 'no'; especially to his daughter when she made that face? "Well, all right," he said approvingly. Happy to hear that, Leon and Olivia cheered. "As long as you come back before it gets dark," Hiram told them.

Leon gave a playful salute. "Yes, sir!"

Olivia ran up to her father to hug him. "Thank you, Daddy."

"You're welcome," Hiram said, hugging his daughter. "Now be careful."

"We will," she said obediently, grabbing her hat and coat. Once she finished putting them on, she followed Leon outside where Labramon was waiting. They climbed on his back and he carried them through a nearby alley and they were once again back in the Secret Garden.

Before going to Half Moon Pass, Leon told Labramon to make a quick stop at the door back home. "I have to go back to my world first," the redhead told Olivia.

"How come?" the mouse girl wondered.

He took a deep breath. "I've decided to introduce you to all of my friends, Olivia."

She gave a small gasp and her eyes widened.

"Before I can take you to meet my friends, I've got to go home so I can turn back into a human," the redhead explained. "But don't be scared."

"I won't," Olivia promised, though she actually was feeling anxious about the whole thing. But she wasn't sure if it would be because of seeing Leon as a human or meeting all of his friends. She had kept the photo Leon had given to her before they said 'goodbye' and saw what he and all of his friends looked like. As such, she thought she'd be somewhat prepared. But she still braced herself.

With Labramon's help, Leon was able to pass through the door and return to his home. Less than a few seconds later, Labramon and Olivia saw Leon coming back towards them. The redhead slowed down and got down to his partner's level. "It's okay, Olivia," he said softly.

Olivia looked at Leon, seeing that he was exactly as he looked like in the photo. She began to relax a little bit. "Wow, Leon, it really is you," she said.

He nodded in response. "Are you ready to meet everyone?"

The mouse girl nodded with determination. "I'm ready for anything."

With that being settled, Leon headed over to Half Moon Pass with Labramon following him and Olivia still riding on the canine-like Digimon. Once they got there, Leon went through the vines and opened up the trapdoor in the ground, revealing the entrance. They then went through the elevator. The doors opened up, allowing the three friends to enter the clubhouse.

As Olivia looked around, she was fascinated by what she was seeing. And everyone she saw looked just like they did in the photograph.

Leon called for everyone's attention. "Hey, guys." They all stopped what they were doing and gave him their attention. The redhead cleared his throat. "I want you guys to meet a very special guest." He carefully lifted the mouse girl off of Labramon and placed her on the table for everyone to see. "This is Olivia Flaversham," he introduced.

The mouse girl giggled and pulled her coat to curtsey. "Pleased to meet you," she said politely, trying not to be nervous. Naturally, a mouse would be afraid to be in the presence of humans because they get easily frightened. But Olivia tried not to be afraid, considering these were Leon's friends.

Kohaku approached the table and looked down at her. "She's a mouse," he observed.

"A cute mouse," Rini commented, smiling.

Guilmon smiled as he looked down. "Hi, Olivia," he greeted. "I'm Guilmon. It's very nice to meet you."

"Wow," she breathed. "A real dragon," she said. "A cute, friendly dragon." And she gently patted Guilmon's muzzle. She turned her attention back towards the others. "The rest of you must be Shippo, Rin, Rini, and Kohaku. Leon's told me so much about you."

Shippo looked towards the redhead. "Funny, he didn't mention you."

Leon smiled nervously. "I was going to," he said truthfully.

"Like all of us, Olivia is from another world," Rebecca said. "Her father is a toymaker too." And she and Leon and Mokuba began telling the story of how they all met Olivia and came to be friends with her. They kept it brief by saying they spent time at the toyshop helping Olivia's father make toys as well as playing with the mouse girl. They didn't want to mention their encounter with Professor Ratigan or how they met Basil of Baker Street.

It sounded fun to the rest of the friends, staying with Olivia and helping her father with making toys. And based on what they were hearing, Olivia seemed kind and fun to be around.

Rebecca turned her attention back to the mouse girl. "Say, Olivia, now that you've met all of our friends, do you want to be part of our club?"

She smiled and asked, "Would you really let me?" She had never actually been part of a club before and it sounded like fun.

"Of course," the blonde answered. "You're our friend."

"Please say you will, Olivia," Rin pleaded. She really wanted to get to know the mouse girl more now that they had met.

"It'll be fun," Shippo promised her.

Olivia was starting to feel a little overwhelmed being surrounded by these new people. But at the same time, she was happy to have so many new friends who wanted her to be a part of their group. She wipes her eyes with her sleeve before any tears start to fall from them. "All right. I will."

Everyone cheers and Mokuba carefully takes Olivia into his hands. "Olivia Flaversham, welcome to our club." They stop cheering as he sets her down. The raven-haired lad then suggests, "You know, we should have a name for our club."

"What should we call ourselves?" Leon asked.

"I don't know," he said. Right now, he was open to hearing suggestions from his friends. "Do you guys have any ideas?"

Rebecca spoke up. "How about the Millennial Elementals?" she suggested. That was the first thing to come into her mind since she and her friends were training to be warriors since they discovered their elements.

"How about the World Defenders?" Rini asked. "We all come from different worlds and we're protectors of our worlds."

"How about the Heroes' Helpers?" Shippo suggested. "Since we're training to be heroes and are always helping them."

Mokuba liked his friends' ideas and wrote them down on a piece of paper. When he didn't hear any other suggestions, he decided to put it to a vote. He called the names and his friends raised their hands and paws to the title they most agreed with. In the end, it was decided that their special clubhouse would be known as the Heroes' Helpers club.

Now that a name for the club has been chosen, a few other things needed to be put into order. "Right now, the door is open to anyone who comes here. But I'm thinking we should have a special password for entry. You know, just to keep out intruders," Mokuba suggested.

Rebecca liked the idea. "I also suggest we change the password once every few days as an extra security measure."

"How are we going to make a password?" Rini asked.

"If I'm not mistaken," the blonde was saying, "the elevator should have a few mechanisms to help us create one." She adjusted her glasses and added, "The password should be something each of us can easily remember. If any of you have your own ideas, please write them down on this form. And to be fair, we'll choose one from the list, then choose another for a later time." And she placed a piece of paper on the table.

One by one, they all took a pen and wrote a different word and phrase on the paper. Since Olivia's handwriting was too small, she asked Leon to write down her idea. Mokuba saw the list. There were words and phrases like 'sanctuary', 'Shangri-La', 'oracion', 'Child's Play', 'elementary', and 'monsters are a kid's best friend'.

He handed the list to his girlfriend. "Rebecca can choose the password, but we won't use it until tomorrow."

That sounded fair to everyone. "And if anyone has new ideas for a password, they can write it down on this paper and it will be stored in a safe place." She looked at the list. "Okay, I've decided that our first password will be 'oracion.'" Everyone agreed.

Leon had another idea. "What do you say we close the meeting with a special song or pledge?"

"What did you have in mind?" Mokuba asked.

Rebecca had an idea. "How about that song Emily always sings when she comes here to get food for her baked goods? Oh, but I forgot how it goes."

"What song?" Shippo asked.

Mokuba knew what his girlfriend was talking about. "Emily said it's a special song the Children of Millennia sang in the past whenever they came to the Pure Valley to seek refuge and sanctuary from the forces of evil. Not just her chosen warriors, of course, but her children and followers."

"The Children of Millennia?" Olivia asked, thinking she had heard about them before.

"It's a long story," Leon told her. "We'll tell you about it later."

Mokuba had a different idea. "Why don't we do this," he was saying. "Let's finish up with it being an easy day today. Then tomorrow, we can gather our things to decorate the clubhouse. We can bring toys, books, collectibles, decorations, games, snacks, everything we like. Then we can set up our special password and find out what that song is."

Everyone seemed to agree. So they decided to close the club, saying they would come back tomorrow and get organized. With that being settled, everyone went back home to their worlds. Leon escorted Olivia back to the thicket, Rin, Shippo, and Kohaku went down the Bone-Eaters' Well, Rini went through the door to her world, and Mokuba, Rebecca, and Leon and their Digimon met up at the door to their world.

"What an awesome day," Leon said. "And now Olivia's one of us."

"Everyone's going to like having her around," said Labramon.

Mokuba inhaled sharply. "We're going to have a lot of work ahead of us in getting our clubhouse organized."

"Yeah, but it'll be worth it," said Rebecca. "We'll see you guys tomorrow." And she and Palmon went through the door first and were back home with Professor Hawkins. Leon and Labramon went through next and were back in their own home. Mokuba and Guilmon passed through and were back in their room. The raven-haired lad smiled, thinking his friends were right. They had a lot of work ahead of them, but it was all going to be worth it.
