Elijah walks around the party after talking to Davina, a lot of things haven't gone right in the past few weeks, he still hasn't found Castiel, he had to kill Marcel's friend. But that isn't what bothered him, it's finding Castiel that is bothering him.

So he walks around, being a good host for the witches. It isn't until after he had danced with Hayley, he noticed a trench coat walking past and an rainbow aura.

"If you excuse me, Hayley," he said.

He lets her go and goes after him, but he loses sight of the trench coat. Had that been Castiel or…had he been mistaken.

"Brother? What has gotten you into such a rush, may I ask?" Niklaus asked.

"I thought…" he said, shaking his head. "It must have been my imagination but I thought I saw Castiel."

He looks around at the party coward, hoping to see him, but…he then sees brown hair that is slightly spiky. So he goes over but loses him again. Where is he?

Then he turns to see him and he turns also, to see disbelief, sadness and hesitation in his blue searching eyes.

"Hello, Elijah."

….

Castiel makes his next stop in New Orleans to find some kind of Festival going on late at night for some reason, so he walks within the people to see if Elijah is here.

The other day was…strange, weird even. He had passed out with pain in his troso despite nothing had happened.

But he thought he was crazy yesterday, he thought he saw Naomi, but God erased her when he had made people exist, leaving them in a world that they can't save until Jack became God.

He walked until they stopped and 3 young teenage girls did some of their magic but he could sense some kind of suffering from the girl in the red dress like she has had a horrible shock and it looks like they all had died and came back.

He wonders how that happened, probably some kind of ritual or something. He will have to keep an eye out for her.

He then goes to the after party in a big place, it was beautiful but he had noticed that the girl in the red dress wasn't getting any gifts which he thought was cruel since some of the other girls are getting theirs.

He sighed, looked around, hoping to find Elijah. If anyone can help him understand, it would be him.

He walks around, trying to find him or one of his siblings.

"Well, you're not human." said a female voice.

He turns around to see the woman that had been on the stage with the other girls, she has red hair and she is wearing a black dress.

"And you're a witch."

"Charmed. My name is Grenvie. May I ask for your name, angel?" she said.

"Castiel." he said, watching her carefully.

"Oh, so you're Castiel." she said.

He squinted his eyes at her, wondering how she knew him. He has never met her, not unless Rowena had mentioned him in passing for some odd reason.

"You know who I am?" he asked.

"Quite. Rebekah Mikaelson had mentioned you, once. You're the noble one's….boyfriend."

Castiel didn't like how she said that, it sounded the way that Naomi had said it.

"Mate." he corrected her. "Do you know where Elijah is?"

"I saw him a little a while ago, he should be here since he is hosting us witches." she told him.

Sounds like him all right. But the question remains, where is he?

"I shall find him," he said.

"You're human." she said.

It wasn't a question but a fact, he knows he has fallen completely that he is human now, but he still has angelic qualities. He can still see other peoples or creature's auras. But he believes like his wings, his power will fade.

But he doesn't care about his powers, he just wants to be with Elijah.

"Yes."

"Shame. You'll just burden him, you know. What are you without your powers, Castiel?" she asked.

"Eli will not care for my powers, he has always wanted me for who I am. As I do with him." he said.

But he will not pretend, those words stung him, the very thoughts have always come to him about it if he loses his powers, would Elijah still want to be him? What use would be to Elijah if he completely loses his powers?

He chose not to dwell on it.

"I hope, for your stake."

He nods politely and continues with his search for his mate. Then he sees something out of the corner of his eye. He turns to face him.

Elijah.

He was still the same, just his hair was all different, it was short, spiky similar to his own. He wore a suit like Castiel does.

"Eli." he said.

"Cas…" he said.

Elijah comes over to him and pulls him into a hug, holding him tight, his hand clutching his hair. Holding him like he is never going to let him go ever again.

"I thought I'd lost you. I've prayed to you so many times." he said.

Castiel immediately feels guilty about that, if only he had gone with him instead of staying behind on the ship.

"I'm sorry. The angels had stolen my memories, made me forget my feelings. I…" Castiel said.

He knew he was rambling, trying to get the full story out to his mate but then he felt Elijah's lips upon his own, cupping his face gently.

Castiel couldn't help but kiss him back desperately and passionately. He gasps from him, needing to breathe.

"Cas? What is it?" Elijah asked him, while his thumb stoke his cheek gently.

"I'm almost human, so I need to breathe," he said.

"What? How?" he demanded.

"Long story," he said.

Elijah just sighs and brings him back into a hug, Castiel wraps his arms around his middle, hiding his face into his shoulder, trying to not to cry.

After so long, he is finally back with his mate, he can feel safe again. He feels Elijah releasing him from his hold but Castiel just holds on tighter, not wanting to part from the hug after years and years of separation.

"Castiel," he said. "It's okay, I'm not going to leave you, my love."

Castiel sighed but hesitantly let him go, Elijah took his hand, inkling their fingers together.

"I love you, Castiel." he said.

Castiel smiles. "I love you, too. Elijah."

"Come. Let me introduce you." he said, taking his hand.

He studies his face this time, Castiel wonders what he makes of his body and how would he react to the deversated story behind it.

"I think…this vessel suits you. It looks like Castiel." he said.

Castiel just smiles sadly, he has never forgiven himself for what he has done to Jimmy Novak and his family. Sure, Claire Novak has turned into a strong young hunter but it was all because of him. He'll never forgive himself for it.

"I don't know if you should say that, Eli. It is not a happy story." Castiel said to him.

Elijah then frowns, worries and concerns in his brown eyes. "May I ask…?"

Castiel shakes his head, not here and not now. He doesn't even know where to begin. But thankfully Elijah didn't budge.

"We'll talk about later, Cas. But for now.." he said.

Elijah couldn't believe it that his angel had come home to him, he had a feeling he would but he wasn't sure if he ever would and now he is here, where he belongs.

But…Elijah can see that Castiel has a lot of burdens on his shoulders and there is a sadness in his eyes.

He indrounce him to everyone, from Hayley, Cami and finally he takes him to Niklaus.

"Ah, blue eyes, I see you have returned, thankfully." Niklaus said.

"Yes…" said Castiel.

He seems to be distracted like there is something on his mind, Elijah doesn't know what it is but he seems worried, scared even. But what is it that he's afraid of? The angels? Possibly.

"Castiel, what's wrong?" he asked.

"He's nearly human." said Geviene.

Elijah turns to her in shock then to Castiel, that explains why his aura is so different! Why does he need to breathe like a human. What is happening to his angel?

"It's true, but it is a long story." he said, waving it off like it's nothing. "It's happened once before."

"Was it an angel? Because you fell in love with a vampire? Just as your friend had fallen in love with Benny Lafitte, his vampire?"

Castiel stiffens instantly, he has never seen Castiel like this before. Whatever has happened has traumatized him horribly.

"Besides I don't see what Cassie has gone through as your concern. He is Elijah's mate, not yours." Niklaus said. "While I never thought that Marcel would be good for my sister, I do know that Cassie belongs with Elijah."

Elijah nods at his brother, grateful for once. Besides, he can see how Castiel looks at the moment.

Like he is a soldier that has been traumatized over again and again. Well, he won't be anymore.

Like he told a certain witch a few weeks ago, no one hurts his family and lives. It goes to Castiel too, no one hurts his mate and lives.

"Castiel is my mate, you're my guest and I will not have you threatening my angel. So what if he is becoming human? He is my life, my mate. I will not let anyone hurt him ever again. He is mine." Elijah said gravely.

"Oh, of course. I would never threaten the mate of an original. I'm not suicidal." she said.

He nods, pursing his lips. He cannot wait to mark him so everyone will know, whenever they are werewolf, witches, angels or vampires, he cannot wait to mark his angel again.

"My past is nothing to concern you. It is no concern that I'm turning human, it's been happening for nearly 3 years." he said.

Elijah smiles, proud of his angel finally standing up for himself just as he should've done all those thousand years ago.

"Please, leave. Keep an eye on your witches." he said.

"If you pardon me, for a moment, Eli." Said Castiel. "I'll be right back."

"You better. I'll watch you from here." said Elijah.

He nods and leaves but not before Elijah gives him a kiss again.

Elijah watches him approach Davina Claire, wondering what they are talking about..

Castiel goes over to the teenage girl that seems to be by herself, she looks at him worried.

"You're not completely human, so what are you? Wolf, vampire or witch?" she asked stubbornly.

"Angel." he corrected.

She looks at him surprised then seems to be looking for his wings and like Dean keeps saying, halo.

"I don't have a halo and my wings are fading along with my grace," he said.

He isn't sure why he told her that when he hasn't even told Elijah yet. But in some ways so far, she reminds him of Claire.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

He smiled gently at the young girl. "I….my father had taken most of my grace and the remaining I've got, well, let's say it is fading to nothing. So once it has all faded away, I'll be human." he said.

"Can't anyone….?" she asked. "There must be a spell or something that can restore it."

"No, there isn't. Dean and Sam had tried everything once we defeated my father 3 years ago before i came looking for my mate. But there is nothing that can restore it, Jack can't do anything about this, even the most powerful witch I know, Rowena. Even she couldn't find the powerful spell in the most dangerous spell book, book of the damn. And I will not take any angels grace either like I did when I first lost my grace thanks to Metatorn." he said. "This time, I will accept it."

"Why?" she asked, looking confused.

"BEcause I love my mate, and no doubt he will turn me and I will accept it, Dean and Sam agree that he is the best thing for me." he said.

"Winchester?" she asked.

He smiled. "Yes, I pulled Dean from hell years ago and he…in a way, has helped me to regrain my emotions and memories of my mate back." he said.

She smiles. "They sound like good friends."

Castiel nods. "They are, we've had our ups and downs, like all friends have. But we pushed through it because we're family. Everyone thought for years that Dean was my true mate but it was an act to keep them guessing, to protect my mate from…" he said, shuddering. "Ishim."

Even after all these years, what Ishim did to him, the rapes, the beatens….they still affect him in so many ways than he cares to admit.

"This Ishim, he hurt you, didn't he?" she asked.

"Yes. I do not wish to go into it." he said. "But let's say, he ruined a lot of people's lives."

"Is he dead?" she asked.

"Yes."

"Good." she said.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"Castiel." he said.

"The Angel of Thursday." she breathed.

"Yes or I used to be. But now I belong with my love." said Castiel. "What's yours?"

"Davina Claire."

He smiles as he thinks of Claire, these two would be fast friends, that is for sure.

"I know a Claire. She is strong willed, brave and incredibly stubborn." he said.

Davina smiles. "Is she still around?"

"Very much. She is still a hunter and she is good at it." he told her.

"Sounds like my kind of friend if I could meet her." she said.

Castiel chuckled, like she has any idea who stubborn Claire can be. Sometimes, she drives Dean crazy.

"Castiel, can I ask you something?" she asked.

He nods, wondering what she is going to ask him. He just hopes it's nothing bad like when he had taken in the souls of purgatory or how he had been tortured more than once.

"Who is your mate? Is she hot? Cute?" she asked.

"He, actually. And I suppose." he said.

"Come on, who is it?" she asked.

"His name is-"

"Davina, stop bothering the angel." said a girl with a dark aura.

"Oh, she is not. I approached her." said Castiel.

"Well, she has a celebration to get back to, fallen." she sneered.

He couldn't help but flinched at the venom in her voice so he nodded and turned around, leaving the party entirely. He knew it was such a bad idea.

"Castiel."

He turns around to see Elijah, looking very concerned and worried about him. He lets him fold him into a gentle hug and Castiel melts into it as he feels the tears pickling at his eyes.

"Where were you going? Did Davina upset you?" he asked, wiping the tears away with his thumb.

"No, it wasn't her. It was one of the other girls. The way she had called me Fallen. It hurts, that's all. A lot of angels hate me due to my relationship with the Winchesters and you. But never once have they called me Fallen. Sure, they kept going on about how I fall to begin with but they get quickly bored with it because I never react to it." he said.

He had to stop taking a breath in from his statement and a moment to calm himself down, he doesn't want to break down, not yet.

"Castiel…" he said.

"But hearing the word, fallen from someone else. It hurts like a knife all over again." he said.

He feels Elijah cupping his face gently with his hands, forcing him to look at him, his thumb stroking his face gently.

"Cas…it's not a bad thing, you fell for people you love, for your friends and me. I do not think that the word fallen is a bad thing. I think it makes you sexy." he said.

He laughed, tearfully. Only he would think that but he has no idea what Castiel has done through the years to make it this far.

"I don't know what has happened to you, my love. But I do know this…" he said.

Castiel looked at him, he was near to one of his episodes of panic attacks, he was scared again just like he was after the dog spell was off him.

"I love you, Castiel. I swear…I'll protect you, this time I will." he said.

Castiel pushes him away, taking off his trench coat, suit coat and undoing his tie from his neck, trying to get air in his lungs.

"Castiel?"

He couldn't look at him, he was too scared to, scared that Elijah would see him for who he truly was. A messed up angel that suffers from Post Traumatic Depression, anxiety and nightmares.

"Castiel, look at me, my love. You need to breathe." he said softly. "I'm here."

He can't do it, he just can't. Why does Elijah's voice sound so far away? Was he heading back in, leaving him alone? No, he can't.

"Eli, don't leave me." he begged, trying to reach out.

But as soon as he took a step towards him, everything went dark. The last thing he remembers is someone catching him as he fell unconscious.

….

Elijah catches Castiel as he passes out due to lack of oxygen in his lungs. Castiel just had a panic attack just because of some cruel words said to him.

"Castiel, wake up." he said, shaking his shoulder gently.

But he made no move to open his eyes, but he does look so peaceful but yet so sad in his unconsciousness. He gently picks him up into his arms, his head resting against his chest.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention, please?"

Elijah sighed, what is his brother doing now? He gets up and quickly takes Castiel to their room and lays him on the bed gently.

"I shall return, my love. Just rest." he said as he squeezed his hand. "I love you."

He leaves, closing the door gently. Then heads back down the stairs to find out what his brother is doing now.

What he saw wasn't good, he saw Josh and Davina at the bottom of the stairs as Niklaus was on the stairs, ready to give some speech.
