A constant wave of refreshing cold air. That was the first sensation Angel Dust felt as he stirred from slumber. This wasn't alarming to the peacefully sleeping spider demon for the first few minutes. His mind believed that it was the AC in his room at the Happy Hotel, which was always set to this temperature to help him relax and the end of each day.

But as Angel Dust's dreams faded, memories took their place. And everything that happened before this restful state hit him all at once. Instantly, his eyes shot open as he realized he wasn't in the hotel. But he wasn't in the building he'd been dragged to either, and when Angel Dust began to look at his surroundings, he'd only discover more questions rather than answers.

A pristine, futuristic-looking room. That was the only way the spider demon could think to describe it. Most of the objects within the space and the space itself were either a perfectly clean white or a shining metallic silver. Several machines, including some attached to him, Angel Dust had never seen before and could barely guess what their functions might be.

Except for one. Which was at the foot of his...bed? Table? Some sort of high-tech slab? Yet another perplexing thing he could barely make heads or tails of. But thankfully, the aforementioned device wasn't so confounding.

It appeared to be a monitor. A very tall one, at that. And it'd been set up so that when Angel Dust was sitting upright, it'd be at the same height as where his head would be. Yet before he could say or do anything, the monitor suddenly came to life as if responding to his awakening.

"Hello." A voice greeted him, but no person appeared on the screen. In the place of one, there was a digital line that fluctuated whenever words were spoken. "My name is doctor Samuel Hayden. I am in charge of the facility you're currently in. Undoubtedly, you are overcome with countless thoughts and emotions. And I promise that in time, everything will be explained. But for now, It'd be best for us to ensure your injuries are fully healed, and you are back to normal. So, will you please cooperate?" The voice introduced, ending in a request. It sounded like a man, but it had an unusual effect. A filter or changer, perhaps?

"Uh. Yeah. Sure." Angel Dust hesitantly agreed. Although he felt safe since it was clear whoever this was had helped him, he was still reasonably confused and even a bit scared since he didn't know where he was.

"Thank you." Dr. Samuel Hayden replied before continuing, wanting to show his appreciation. "Slowly move your legs off of the examination table if you can. Once that is done, and before you attempt to stand, check the strength of your arms to be certain they won't give way. Do the same with your legs afterward before fully committing to leaving the table." He instructed.

As he was told, Angel Dust moved as carefully as he ever had. Fully expecting that same overpowering pain from the night before to return once he was in motion. Thankfully, to his relief and joy, there was nothing. No pain, exhaustion, or other signs of his horrible experience.

"Holy fuck." Angel Dust said in amazement. "I...feel good. No, even better, I feel great!" He exclaimed with a smile before looking back to the monitor. "Hey! Uh, doc. What'd you do to me?" He asked, unable to remember the doctor's name despite having just heard it.

"I'm afraid regardless of my answer, simple or detailed; it wouldn't give you the information you're hoping for. In the sense that you'd be able to understand it fully. I hope you don't take offense to that." Dr. Samuel Hayden answered.

"Nah, you're right. Even if you dumbed it down as much as possible, It'd probably still fly right over my head." Angel Dust replied, still smiling. "So, if I can get off this table, can I remove all these tubes and shit attached to me? Or do I need to leave them be?" He inquired.

"If you can stand and walk, the machines have done their job. There will be no further need for them." Dr. Samuel Hayden responded.

"Alright. Let's see if everything's working then." Angel Dust said with enthusiasm.

Although delighted with this seemingly miraculous recovery, the spider demon followed the doctor's orders just in case he wasn't at a hundred percent. First, he checked his arms. Next, he moved his legs off the table, still finding no issues. After that, Angel Dust gently swayed them from left to right, once more discovering not a single problem.

Finally, the moment of truth. With a quick inhale and exhale to ready himself for a potential fall, Angel Dust carefully rose from the table and stood on his feet.

"Are you lightheaded? Do your knees feel weak? Are you experiencing any sickness or blurred vision?" Dr. Samuel Hayden asked, needing to be sure everything was okay.

"Head's good. My knees are fine. My stomach's holding up. And I can see everything as clearly as I ever could. Maybe even better." Angel Dust answered while taking a few small steps, still airing on the side of caution.

"Excellent. When you're finished ensuring you are in perfect health, and after you've detached yourself from the medical devices, please proceed to the room's entrance. You will find your clothes on the other side of the door in the adjacent room." Dr. Samuel Hayden told him.

Upon hearing that, Angel Dust looked down at himself. Due to the shock of waking up in an unknown location and having all his injuries healed, he hadn't noticed that he was completely naked. Normally, this hornier-than-thou demon wouldn't feel any shame or embarrassment about being on display like this. But this was one of the rare occasions Angel Dust did, since whoever this doctor was had gone out of his way to help rather than take advantage of him.

"Oh. Uh, thanks." Angel Dust replied with a slight blush, though it was hidden by the fur on his face. "Sorry for...ya know...being naked..." He apologized.

"Please, do not be embarrassed. Even if those degenerates hadn't removed them already, it would've been necessary to do so to treat you." Dr. Samuel Hayden explained.

"Right. Yeah. That makes sense." Angel Dust said. "Speaking of those assholes, out of curiosity, were you the one who murdered the shit out of them?" He asked.

"No. But I feel it would be best for us to continue talking once you are dressed." Dr. Samuel Hayden answered. "After you've retrieved your clothes, enter the waiting elevator in the same room as your apparel. It'll bring you to me." He instructed.

"You got it, doc. Be with you in a minute." Angel Dust promised.

With that, their conversation was temporarily over. The monitor turned itself off somehow, or maybe it was remotely controlled by the doctor. Regardless of the answer, that wasn't a priority concern for Angel Dust, not with the mountain of other questions currently formed in his mind. After disconnecting himself from the machines, he walked to the other side of the room where an unusual-looking door was.

As Angel Dust approached it, the top and bottom halves of the door retracted into the ceiling and floor. Another show of incredibly advanced technology that only some parts of Hell had. And they were pretty much exclusively owned by Vox or one of the many other Overlords.

"Man, who the fuck is this dude?" Angel Dust wondered while walking into the next room. "Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful. No, even more than that, I'm indebted to this guy for saving my ass. But there's no way he's affiliated with the Vs or anyone else of high standing. WAY too nice to be." He continued to think as he found his clothes resting on top of a cart in the middle of the space. "And people like that don't go out of their way for someone like me. Well, except for Charlie, I guess. But she's the only exception. So, why's he doing all this? Is he planning to use me as a bargaining chip with Val? But if that was the case, why go to all this effort to take care of me? There's so much about this that doesn't make sense." He pondered.

Feeling a little overwhelmed by his thoughts, Angel Dust put them all out of his mind for now as he got dressed. However, as each article of clothing was put back where it belonged on his body, he noticed they felt...different.

"...No fucking way." Angel Dust said, now taking a closer look at them while simultaneously feeling the material with his hands. "...Holy shit. I'm not crazy. These aren't my old clothes. This shit's new! Brand new! And it feels top of the line!" He exclaimed with widened eyes.

Okay. This was getting insane. Saving some random prostitute from a non-consensual gangbang is one thing. Magically healing them is another. But to make a BRAND NEW outfit, IDENTICAL to the one they were wearing, that was Charlie's level of kindness.

Yet this doctor wasn't Charlie. Angel Dust didn't have a single fucking clue as to who this guy was. And every second that went by only worsened his curiosity and heightened the mystery. He nearly took off running towards the nearby elevator because he NEEDED to find out.

Thankfully, Angel Dust remained composed and didn't behave like a lunatic. He walked into the lift, pressed the up button on a touchscreen interface, then waited as it took him to his destination. When he arrived and the doors opened, the first thing Angel Dust saw was a long corridor that ended with a door leading into another room.

"It's very official-looking." Angel Dust thought as he exited the elevator. "It's almost like whenever I go see Val. Except it's clean, doesn't smell like shit, and I don't hate being here." He noted.

It only took the spider demon a few seconds to reach the door. When he did, it opened differently than the previous one, which surprised him. Several rings within the door began turning. A type of mechanical lock Angel Dust had never seen, like everything else so far.

Yet when the rings stopped turning, allowing the door to open, what he saw inside the room left him stunned. For the most part, the room was normal. There were healthy-looking plants, very well cared for. A shelf that contained books and various other items meant for display.

A desk was in the center of the area, with a chair in front of it and a computer resting on top. And there was a statue of some guy in armor carved from stone, a type of decoration only the rich would have. But then there was the one thing in this room that wasn't normal that brought Angel Dust to a full stop physically and mentally.

Standing on the other side of the desk, quite intimidatingly, was a nearly ten-foot-tall robot. For real, no shit, a NEARLY. TEN. FOOT. TALL. ROBOT. WHAT THE FUCK?!

"Ahem." The...The robot spoke! And it...it sounded like the doctor from before! "I can tell you're in a state of shock. That's to be expected. But if you could please come in and have a seat, as I promised, I will explain everything in full detail." It said while gesturing to the vacant chair.

No words formed in either Angel Dust's mind or mouth. His body moved by itself since he was practically checked out.

"Thank you." The robot spoke again after the spider demon sat down. "Now, to begin, I'd like to reintroduce myself, so there is no confusion. I am doctor Samuel Hayden. I am not a preprogrammed machine. Nor am I speaking to you through this mechanical body from a remote location. I am as physically present as you are. However, the explanation for that can be saved until later. We have far more important things to discuss." Dr. Samuel Hayden stated.

Nodding to show he understood, Angel Dust remained silent. His brain was far too busy processing all of...whatever this was.

"First and foremost, I want to assure you that you are safe. You are not a prisoner and will not be forced to do anything you don't want to. While surveying the area, my associate discovered you and the situation you found yourself in. Of course, he couldn't ignore what was about to happen, so he intervened. And after he was certain the men who attacked you were dead, he brought you to me for treatment before resuming the survey. Currently, he's still doing it. Meaning only you and I are here." Dr. Samuel Hayden explained. "Would you like to ask a question now? Or shall I keep talking?" He inquired.

"Uh...I can try...my brain's still exploding over my doctor being a giant fucking robot..." Angel Dust responded with a chuckle and a nervous smile, trying to relax. "So...you said your associate saved me? Which means there are two of you guys in total, right?" He asked.

"Correct. There was someone else, but they're...unable to help us at the moment. I'd appreciate it if you didn't pry into that matter for now." Dr. Samuel Hayden answered. From his tone alone, it sounded like a very sensitive topic.

"Yeah. No problem. I'm not one to stick my nose in other people's business. Even I'm not that tactless." Angel Dust replied. "However, with that said, I have to know who you guys are and what kind of operation you have going here. I've never heard of a ten-foot-tall robot doctor in Hell. So, where'd you come from? And why are you and your buddy so charitable?" He asked.

"Before I answer that, I feel I must show you something." Dr. Samuel Hayden informed before walking towards the wall behind him. "Brace yourself." He advised.

Unsure of what was about to happen, Angel Dust, for like, the fifth time now, was blown away by what came next. As it turned out, the wall wasn't a wall. It was some kind of window that could change how it looked. That's how it resembled the ACTUAL walls of the room.

But that discovery was irrelevant to what Angel Dust saw through the glass now that it was transparent. Because what he saw didn't look like Hell; it looked like an alien planet or something.

"...Doc...where in Hell are we?..." Angel Dust hesitantly inquired, not entirely certain he even wanted to receive a response to that question.

"We're not. What you're currently seeing is the terrain of the planet mars." Dr. Samuel Hayden revealed as he moved his gaze back to him. "I presume you're familiar with it. Since there's one just like it from your reality." He said.

"M...My...reality?..." Angel Dust questioned. Suddenly, everything was spinning. And...the chair...was getting comfier...and his eyelids...were getting...heavy...
