It was the end. She was going to die. She led her sister and herself to their deaths, Yang realized, and she was too exhausted to even shout for help. The day had started so well, she finally found a clue as to where her mother could be! And now, here she is, surrounded by monsters called Grimm, too weak and tired to even try to fight, even if she was able. The six creatures looked at the both of them with hungry eyes.

They growled at her. Then they leapt at her.

Just before they finished growling, six brown ugly creatures with big yellow eyes, sharp teeth, and long pointy ears, riding on scary looking wolves emerged from the trees. On command, the wolves jumped at the Grimm and knocked them down.

Five more of those weird creatures emerged from the trees and combined total of eleven of them made quick work of the Grimm with their big clubs.

They were ugly, and scary, but they were her saviors.

Then they turned to look at her. One closest to her dismounted his wolves and came up to her. Now that he wasn't on his wolf, she could see that he was about her height, and she was just a kid!

"Th-Thank you", Yang stuttered out, still full of fear from the situation she found herself in, "For saving me", she quickly added.

The creature smiled, and that was a scary sight, Yang thought.

"We help Mastah!" loudly announced the brown creature, "We Minions!"

From the corner of her eye she saw the other Minions pick up some weird glowing brown orbs where Grimm used to be, then they presented it to her with a cry of, "For the Overlord!"

She was confused, but grateful. Not only did they save her, she was getting presents too! She liked gifts! They were very nice, Yang decided, even if they looked mean.

"Thank you! Can you put them in that wagon, please?", Yang asked, "I don't have any pockets. Oh! Be careful to not wake up my sister!"

The Minions looked a bit confused at her request, but did put those weird orbs in the wagon as asked.

Then she remembered that they called her "Mastah" and "The Overlord"…whatever those words mean. She decided to sate her curiosity.

"Hey, what do words "Mastah" and "The Overlord" mean?", she asked those Minion creatures.

The one that initially addressed her answered her as well.

"You is Mastah! You is Overlord!"

After asking a few more questions to clarify, Yang had to guess they didn't know either, just that apparently she was one. Oh! Maybe it was some weird word for a friend! She felt happy, she just made a bunch of new friends! The day couldn't get any better, she decided.

She then realized that she was so focused on finding her mother, she kinda forgot the way back. So, maybe if she got back, the day would be better. Maybe her new friends can help?

"Can you take me home? I'm lost"

They all eagerly nodded, and after looking through the house the Grimm appeared from and finding nothing about her mother, she decided to follow them home. She was getting pretty hungry, so she could use some food. They even carried her on the way there because she was so tired! So nice of them! And they pulled the wagon with her sister too! They were simply the best.

After a few minutes of them riding, they stopped near a small cave entrance, where after they entered they found a slightly glowing red circle on what seemed to be big rock with some engravings, surrounded by smaller rocks.

"This isn't home", Yang said disappointed.

"Towah Gate take home!", one of her new friends explained.

That was very convenient, she decided, and sounded pretty fun. One of her friends stepped on it, and disappeared, so it can't be that hard to use. She stepped on it, and disappeared too.

After looking around, this wasn't home either. It did look cool. Like an inside of a ruined castle from the stories. Maybe they took her to their home? That was fine too, Dad wasn't coming from work for a while, so she can spend some time with her new friends.

She then saw a very old minion slowly approaching her. He looked very old, hunched over, and with a small beard. He also carried some glowing thing attached to a stick with a rope. Some weird dust maybe? Uncle Qrow did say dust could do many cool things.

"Hello, Sire, I am Gnarl. I see that the Minions had no trouble finding you and bringing you here."

"Uh huh!", Yang replied, "I asked for them to lead me home and they lead me here to their home!...I did want to go to my home, but this place is nice too!"

"Apologies, Sire, the Minions are not to terribly bright, I'm afraid. But it is very good that they brought you here. Tell me, did they say anything about why you're here?"

"They said they were helping the Overlord, whatever that means. Is that some weird word for friendship?"

Gnarl made a face as if he was insulted, but it was gone fast enough that Yang hadn't noticed.

"Not at all, Sire. It means that you now command them, and they listen to you."

"Kinda like when dad tells me to do chores?", Yang asked.

Gnarl seemed to find this amusing, and he let out a laugh.

"That's one way to put it. You tell them what to do, and they obey. That is what it means to be an Overlord. You are in control of us minions, as our Master, and we do as you say"

Yang immediately abused her new powers by making them all her new friends even against Gnarl's objections.

"What do I do as an Overlord, Gnarl?", Yang asked, hoping it wasn't too much work. She hated work.

"Whatever you want to do, Overlord. You can use us to fight your enemies, to get you things, or even to conquer land. Whatever you want, is what you do as an Overlord"

That sounded like lots of fun! Maybe she'll like this whole Overlording thing.

"That reminds me…", Gnarl said, "an Overlord must look his part. Follow me, and we'll make you some weapons and armor"

The day was getting even better! More gifts! These Minions are the best, she decided, as she followed Gnarl into the hot Forge room. She left her little sister near the entrance to the room, not wanting to wake her up with the heat. She left some Minions to guard her.

The forge was oval shaped with what looked like liquid fire inside. There was a small upwards trail leading from the oval thing to what looked like a big metal barrel.

Yang was introduced to Giblet, the one responsible for making weapons and armor which informed her that the barrel thing was a smelter, and the better one they had, the better stuff he could make.

In almost no time at all, Giblet had expertly made her a small sword, Cutlass he called it, and some light steel armor and leggings, that was still pretty annoyingly heavy, but Gnarl assured her that as soon as she received her final gift, the weight will be as he said "meaningless".

Gnarl brought to her a weird gauntlet. It looked like a face, from which something like a weird crown formed in spiky rings. The middle of the gauntlet glowed with orange color, and so did the two holes where the eye would be on that face. Actually, she thought, that explained why her armor only covered one hand, she was supposed to wear the gauntlet on another! She congratulated herself for being smart enough to figure that out, and put the gauntlet on. Instantly she felt the weight vanish, as did all the tiredness she got from the journey.

"This is amazing!", Yang exclaimed pleased.

"Indeed it is, sire. Through this gauntlet flows magic that powers this castle, your castle, and that magic is what is helping you to not feel the heavy burden of your armor", Gnarl explained, looking pleased at her happiness"

"Oh, I get magic too? This is amazing!"

"In due time, Sire. We still have to check if any of the spell totems survived. As you noticed the castle is in a bit of a rough state. But not to worry, by your command we shall fix it up in no time."

Yang nodded, and told him to get to it. She did want to go home, though, and so she asked about it.

"Gnarl?"

"Yes, Sire?"

"Could you take me home? Maybe use one of those glowing red things that make you woosh and appear in other place!"

Clearly Yang was excited about using the Tower Gate again, even if she had forgotten the name. Gnarl thought about it, and then nodded.

"That's a great idea, Sire. You should stay home while we make this place worthy of your highness. If you will follow me, I will teach you how to use Magic to get back home"

Yang excitedly followed him (with her sister, of course), eager to learn some magic. They stopped a bit of a way from the throne, where through small pool of water, a blue huge glowing orb could be seen. Yang could feel a connection to it, somehow.

"This is the tower heart, My Lord. It was twice destroyed, but we managed to find all the pieces and fix it both of those times. It is now yours, and the gauntlet is connected to it, allowing you to tap into the connection to send small items to the castle, or to make use of its powers otherwise."

Gnarl looked around, and spotted one of the spell tomes, and pointed it to Yang. It was a bit behind them, affixed to the wall.

"That, there, is a spell totem, my Lord! The Fireball spell! When you became our Overlord, the Tower Heart must have returned the only spell it had retained since your predecessor. Robust fellow, that Fireball spell. Should have known he'd make it."

The Fireball spell looked simply like a stone head of a small dragon. Yang thought it looked pretty cool.

"Focus, Sire, then extend your hand. Now you must desire for the Fireball to appear. The Tower Heart and the Gauntlet will take care of the rest"

Yang did as she was instructed, and to her surprise a small fireball was launched from her gauntlet into the wall. She felt slightly drained after that feat of cool-looking magic.

"Good job, sire! The tiredness you no doubt feel is the mana you have used up to cast the spell. Simply ask the Tower Heart for more through your connection, and it will refill all that you have lost. When you are outside of this Castle, however, mana will only be regained through special potions, or rest. Don't worry about the wall, the Minions will clean that up"

Yang felt amazed. She was like a fairy tale hero now, casting magic whenever she liked. This was sooooooo cool!

Gnarl proceeded to explain how to use the tower heart to return home. It was pretty easy, she had to demand it, and poof, she'll be there. She proceeds to wish to get back alongside her sister, and just like that, she was near her home. She looked down, and saw that she was standing on that red circurly thing…That's right! One of the minions called it a Tower Gate. Guess she can use it to return to the castle.

She hurried home, to get in bed. Today was a fun, but tiring day. What will tomorrow bring, she wondered to herself, as she entered her home.
