Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Batman. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Batman; DC and a few others do.
Barbara Gordon didn't care much for Gotham. The city was old, the place was unsafe. There wasn't much to do and she wasn't at all sure if this town was as safe as it seemed.
Yet? It was where Gordon had set up shop. It was where her father laid his head. This place was nicer, a lot nicer than most other cities… And it was still home even if the 14 about to be 15-year-old girl assumed. There was more here, a lot more than what she had heard from this place… It was a lot odder than it had seemed to be.
There was a lot more she could have done, but today? Well, she didn't know what her father had planned unless that included pizza and a thousand phone calls after school.
She sighed and kicked off her shoes before starting to type on her phone. This was going to be a long and weird day it seemed and she had little to no problem with this. There was more to handle on a moving day like this.
And yet she had more to focus upon, like making new friends, like exploring the town, like making sure that this was odd, something else was going to have been odd for now.
Barbara yawned and kicked the covers off her. She looked out the window at the city. There were many people here and she heard there was a superhero here like the flying hero in Metropolis… She remembered her thesis on questioning how his powers broke the laws of physics.
And got a B- because her former teacher was a huge superman fan which simply made her roll her eyes. That city was just odd and she supposed Gotham wasn't much different, pushing her to try and get better.
And yet? She tried to get ready. She wanted to get ready. There was so much more she could have done and all it did was going to as of the time being.
She still clicked her phone to make sure it was able to work. Leave it to her dad to get her an old one under the idea that it was sturdier and more reliable. She had the option to get a new one and that was partly what she had to blame.
This was to be a fun day. surely, it was probably going to be in the most sarcastic day for now. She needed a serious talk with her father, a real serious talk.
Yet she supposed that could have waited. She had waited this time for now. This was going to have been something fun either way.
"Barbs? You up here?" She heard as there was a knock on the door as she looked up at the door frame.
She looked over at the others, unsure of what to tell them. Her father was a cop, sure, but she had to leave everything behind. This was a lot more to have been done, this was to be an adventure, it'd all be fun, sure.
But it made so much to have some assurance, some sort of thing linking her to the past. All it did was tell her exactly what was coming.
"Yeah, dad. Just wondering how things are going to go." Barbara stated as she sighed, rolling her eyes around her head, that was a lot more to have questioned for now what was going to have been able to have focused more and this. He looked at her, his snow-speckled hair still standing up as if he had slicked it up with far too much hair gel.
He probably did. Even when nobody cared? Well, he was going to be capable of now. There was something else before now. He didn't know what else was going to be happening.
Yet? She had a hunch he didn't care. His appearance was always secondary to everything else. It'd always be that way for now. He didn't exactly make sure to have been forcing this to be the way he wanted…
Little did either know tomorrow would bring something amazing now. This was just going to be more baggage for her. Something that couldn't stand if she had her way.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be delayed. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show Barbara's path to becoming Batgirl and such. The next chapter will also be 900-6500 words, for now, the time and will also show this universe's version of batman. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Next chapter will be delayed for now.
