Chapter 1
Izuku loved heroes especially All Might the number one ranked hero in the world. The blonde man was strong, brave, loved by all, he was perfect in the eyes of the green haired 5 year old who was watching him on TV. "All Might is so amazing!" Izuku exclaimed in excitement. "I wonder what his quirk is?"
'Analyzing…individual All Might may possess a strength enhancing quirk that allows for feats beyond that of a normal human.' There it was, that female voice that he'd been hearing in his head lately.
"Well, strength enhancing is a definite but what is it?'
'Unknown…suggestion: ask him directly.'
"Isn't he in…America?" the boy asked. "I can't go there on my own, but if he comes to Japan then he might end up here since there's so much crime!"
'The possibility of this happening is 4.50%.' the voice stated.
"I guess that's a no then…" he wasn't distressed though, all he had to do was hope and be patient. "4.50% isn't zero so it's still a possibility!" he exclaimed. Watching from the hall was his mother, she'd been worried about her son for a while now. Ever since he'd started hearing the voice he had changed rather quickly. He'd stopped hanging out with other kids, specifically that Bakugo child. Izuku muttered to himself sometimes even having full on conversations with the voice as if it were an actual person. He had a notebook full of ideas and notes about various heroes that he'd seen on TV, this wasn't concerning though. "One day, I'm going to become a hero just like All Might, I'll become the #1 in the world!" Inko couldn't help but smile at the proclamation.
'At least that hasn't changed.' She said as Izuku began posing. 'So cute!' She pulled out her camera and was going to take a picture. That's when it happened, Izuku's skin began to turn a semi transparent, light green color. "Huh?"
"Huh?" the boy said upon hearing his mother. "Mom, what's wrong?" the woman walked up to her son and touched his face. It felt normal if only a little bit more squishy. "Mom?" he didn't seem to be in pain or in any discomfort.
"Is this your quirk?" Izuku looked at his hands and arms in surprise. He felt odd, lighter, and kind of wobbly.
"My quirk…" Izuku's smile was wide. "Is so cool!" he jumped up in excitement. "Wait, what is my quirk called?"
"Well honey…I have no idea." She stated.
"So it's some kind of new quirk that nobody else has?"
"Maybe, we should probably go see the doctor about this." She said not wanting to take any chances.
"With this, I can be a hero, I can—"
'Warning, quirk is not fitted for combat or usage in heroic activities.' The voice cut him off. 'Acquisition of the title, Hero, will ultimately lead to death while quirk is like this.' Such words had never been said to him before and just when he'd gotten his quirk. No, it wasn't fair! He'd waited patiently and now the voice was telling him that he couldn't become a hero?! He wouldn't listen to such a warning, he wouldn't listen to it ever again. This was a child's promise and truly held no weight.
2 Hours Later – Japan – Musutafu – Clinic
"Hmm, it's quite intriguing to say the least." Doctor Garaki said. "Bones, heart, lungs, stomach, even his brain are all gone." Immediately Inko began to panic. "That's not to say that he's in any danger, please calm down Mrs. Midoriya." He really didn't want the woman to have an heart attack. "I'd go so far and say that he has the safest quirk I've ever seen." Not to mention he didn't feel pain. "Mam, your son truly is—" the door suddenly burst open to reveal a tall man who resembled young Izuku in most aspects. He was a handsome older man with white hair and golden eyes, he was wheezing so hard from running that there was wisps of flames coming from his mouth.
"I started running as soon as you called." This man was Hisashi Midoriya, husband of Inko and father of Izuku. "So what's the—"
"Daddy!" Izuku jumped from the bed and into his father's arms. Hisashi caught his son and lifted him up. "Look I got my quirk!" Hisashi stared at his semi transparent son in confusion, this was definitely new. He walked over and sat down.
"Alright, let's hear it." He took a breath. Doctor Garaki proceeded to explain what they currently knew and needless to say, Hisashi didn't exactly understand the quirk either. "I guess the real question we want to know as parents is; should we be worried for his life in the future because of this quirk?"
"That's hard to say since his quirk has only just manifested, but for the time being it's best to keep an eye on him." He said just as Izuku's appearance became normal once more. This didn't change how his body was though. "He should be able to control his appearance in the future easier in the future." Inko wasn't fully satisfied so Hisashi used this as an excuse to stay longer and speak with the doctor.
"Love you dad!"
"I love you too son." He said waving goodbye, he was definitely going back home after this talk was over.
"He's a good child." Garaki stated.
"Yes, yes he is and Inko is the perfect wife." Hisashi said before looking to Garaki with a serious expression. "Now, explain everything."
"Of course." The man smiled. "Despite being seemingly missing, Izuku's brain still remains as some form of interconnected energy that was incredibly difficult to detect, I think it might be a second quirk which explains the voice in his head that you told me about." He explained. "I'm not sure what his body is feeding on, but I suspect it's some kind if energy in the air; that's the only hypothesis I have on that subject though." The man was truly excited about this development. "Considering how he's your son, it actually makes sense that he'd develop such an interesting quirk; right All for One?"
"I didn't see this coming, I thought that he would get my fire breath or a stronger version of his mothers telekinesis, I hoped that he might even get both, but this is something completely new."
This was a strange turn of events indeed.
'Ahh, looking at him like this almost makes me forget that he's the strongest villain, he looks like a normal worried father.' He knew how much All for One treasured his family, and had made it clear that if anyone hurt them. Said person would be dead or receive a punishment much worse than death. Like their landlord who'd gone missing and whose body was found in a swimming pool.
"I'll be able to keep an eye on him while Inko is at work plus I need to lay low after my recent encounter with All Might, that wound hasn't weakened him enough to where I'll be able to outright kill him." He touched his chest. "Bastard broke a bunch of my bones." He sighed. "Izuku shall be a last resort if Tomura becomes an early failure."
"Your faith in him is wavering already?"
"Just being prepared for the worst, I'd prefer to have my own flesh and blood succeed me, but Izuku is…" he became silent for a few moments before speaking once more. "I'm keeping him out of this unless I absolutely need him."
Izuku and Inko were the family he had, the last little bit of humanity he held onto. Inko had no idea who she married, she had no idea he was a villain. Yet when it came to it, she told him about herself, about her awful past.
"The Venomous Enchanter, the female villain who killed 46 pro heroes and terrorized Japan for 21 years before disappearing." Inko began to tear up. "It—it was me!"
Hisashi was silent, he knew of the villain who stole literal billions in an amazing heist before disappearing into thin air. Not even he'd been able to find her.
"Inko, are you joking or…"
The distressed look on her face told him everything. The woman he loved was telling the truth, she had once been a villain.
"Inko, I don't care about any of that." He embraced her. 'Hell, I've always been impressed by her work; I think I love this woman even more.'
Genuine love, it had been years since he felt this, and it felt good to feel it once again. Hisashi would protect her and their child forever, no matter what the cost.
"All for One."
Garaki's voice snapped the man from his memories.
"Lost in your past again?" the old man asked.
"What do you expect, I have a lot of good things to reminisce about." Hisashi sighed. "I don't know how long I'll be able to stay with them, but be prepared to move when I do." He said.
Hisashi had work to do, but he would enjoy his family for as long as he could.
11 Years Later – Japan – Musutafu
Izuku didn't like to stand out, he didn't like being in the spotlight thus he mostly kept to himself. In truth his quirk wasn't exactly suited for combat, he couldn't feel pain since he had no pain receptors, he didn't need to sleep or even eat. Granted he still ate for the taste, and out of habit. He didn't talk about his quirk since he didn't have any friends, and he especially steered clear of Bakugo; the guy was way to violent for his taste. He only interacted with him when needed, aside from that he paid no heed to him. At the moment however, they were sitting next to each other because of certain problematic students.
'Why in the back, next to me?!' the teen silently exclaimed. 'There's an empty seat by the window…the same seat that I requested after those three got expelled!' he glanced over to Bakugo who was staring at him with narrowed eyes. 'I didn't do anything so why is he staring at me so intensely?'
'Unknown.' Great Sage stated.
Getting rid of the voice was impossible just as his dad had told him.
"Name it and embrace the advantages." The man said. "It's an amazing quirk that complements your already amazing analytical mind."
Izuku had named it Great Sage because of how wise it was, and how the wisdom often helped him in tough situations. "Do you need to borrow notes or…" small explosions came from Bakugo's hands. "Ok, I'll just not look at you." He turned away.
'Suggestion, ignore and avoid individual Katsuki Bakugo.'
'Easier said than done.' He sighed.
Soon the teacher came in and class started with Bakugo being oddly quiet. The rest of the day went by rather quickly with him leaving. He didn't have any friends to talk with or make plans with so he had no reason to go slow. There was a time where he tried to make friends, but that ended with him becoming even more alone than ever. They'd made it very clear that they wanted nothing to do with him.
This made him a bit sad, but there was nothing he could do about it now. As he headed home his mind went to U.A, he really wanted to get in and become a pro hero, but his quirk wasn't exactly useful in the sense that it could defend others.
Even so, he still wanted to become a pro hero, it was his dream, his goal, his ambition. "If I can learn how to fight properly then I can utilize my ability to never need sleep, I don't get tired so I can most likely outlast my enemies in a fight." he proceeded to go through possible scenarios that could happen, Great Sage added its input when needed. He was muttering to himself as usual and wasn't paying attention to his surroundings.
This of course meant that he didn't notice the sludge that slipped out of the sewers until a trashcan hit the wall in front of him. "Hm?"
"I'm talking to you brat!" Izuku turned around to see a large sludge monster, though it was actually a villain.
"Oh…hello." He greets the villain as if this is a normal situation. "Is there something I can help you with?" despite his tone he was internally freaking out, but he can barely hear something from the open manhole. Someone is coming, hopefully it's a hero.
"You aren't scared?"
"Meh." It's a good thing he doesn't have a heart because if he did then it would've likely burst from his chest by now. Thankfully he didn't have lungs either so he wasn't breathing heavily, the sludge villain couldn't tell that he was scared for his life right now.
"You…" he narrowed his eyes. "What the hell are you?"
"Human the last time I checked." He stated before looking to the manhole.
"Have no fear boy!" the sludge villain turned around in shock. "For I am here!" from the manhole, All Might jumped out. He looked to the sludge villain and then to Izuku who looked completely star struck. "Texas!" he reeled back. "Smash!" with a single punch, the would be killer was splattered all over the ground.
"That punch…"
'Individual All Might possesses a strength enhancing quirk.'
"Yeah, that's some strength." Izuku said as the hero contained the villain in a coke bottle. "Um, thank you!" he said nervously.
The Number One hero had just saved his life. He would've preferred meeting All Might in a much more peaceful situation, but this worked too.
"It's no problem young man." He said turning to the teen. "What's your name?" he walked over to Izuku, something about this kid was odd. Not bad odd, but a good odd.
"I—Izuku Midoriya, and I'm a huge fan of yours!" he exclaimed. "You've inspired me ever since I was 5 years old, so much so that I want to become a pro hero."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah, but my quirk isn't exactly suited for combat to be honest." Izuku said. "I can't defend myself, I mean Slime is useful, but these notes are kinda…"
All Might couldn't stand the sight of the boy becoming depressed. Izuku's insecurities and self doubt were weighing him down quite a bit. Where had that enthusiasm gone? All Might then took notice of the notebook in Izuku's hands.
"May I see that?"
"This, I guess so." He said handing it over. "It's nothing really."
All Might opened the notebook up and was more than surprised by what he saw. Profiles on the quirks of pro heroes that he knew, and a couple of Izuku's classmates. These were detailed to the point of being dangerous, the flaws of said quirks were even inside. All Might continued to read through the notebook, but all he could think about was how smart the teen in front of him was. This kind of analytical mind was rare, a good portion heroes relied on brute force rather than brains. That's how All for One had injured him, he hadn't been thinking.
Closing the notebook he gave it back and put his hand on Izuku's shoulder.
"You have a mind that many heroes these days lack." He stated. "Believe me when I say that you can become a hero!"
There it was, the words he didn't expect to hear. The words that now gave him the determination to apply to U.A Academy and become a pro hero.
