Disclaimer: The world, the house elves, the magic, that all belongs to JKR. Josie, Murray and the Swedish House Elf are mine. Actually, the elf mostly belongs to my husband Andy, I am just writing the character for him.
The Swedish House Elf
One night as Josie and Murray were snuggling into bed, Murray started meowing his, "Gimmie food dammit" meow. Josie sighed and carried her very spoiled and rapidly expanding kitten down to the kitchen to visit the house elves. (They all have proper clothing and are paid for their services, thank you very much.)
You know Murray, scolded Joey, if you don't stop this late night munching neither of us will fit through the kitchen door."
Murray meowed his response and rolled his eyes. "Kittens are cute if they are pudgy," he conveyed with a smirk. Josie had her doubts however, that a three hundred-lb. kitten could possibly be considered cute.
Josie turned the corner to the kitchen to hear a strange incoherent song being sung on the other side of the kitchen door.
"Is that Swedish? Nah, probably just indigestion from the pickles and ice cream I ate earlier," thought Josie ruefully. But as she heaved open the solid wood double doors to the kitchen, all doubts were put to rest. Josie and Murray stared open mouthed at the strange house elf that seamed to be wrestling some very animated dough into a pot.
"Beerned bosh shpeerned bonsh shpeerned ba dinky dooo," sang the odd little house elf under a giant chef's hat and enormous eye brows. The only things that kept the hat on his head were his huge pointed ears.
The other house elves ran around catching wooden spoons, pots, pans and the occasional chicken as they flew from the hands of the insane little creature.
The house elves all jumped and started apologizing profusely when they noticed the two spectators standing stunned in the doorway. This jolted Josie and Murray back to their senses.
"When did we hire the loony house elf?" Josie asked. Murray shrugged and continued to watch as the elf managed to get his head stuck in the bowl of dough. Another elf ran over and started smacking the dough with an eggbeater in attempt to free his co-worker.
