(Hello everyone! I wanted to try something new! I've never done one of these SI fics, but I decided what the hell? I don't think anyone's really made a DC/Iron Man centered fic. If anyone has make sure to tell me as I'd love to read it! But this is what I'm going to be working on for a bit. This will be a Harem fic, but nothing of a sexual nature will happen until they are adults in season 2 however. If you were expecting anything different, that's nasty.
But make sure to give suggestions of who should be in the Harem! That's about it though! I hope you guys enjoy this as I continue to write it! If this does well, maybe I'll do another Iron Man SI fanfiction. Tell me some good media where Iron Man would be a good fit. Send requests, kudos, comments, reviews, love, suggestions, ladies, fanart if you're imposed, and keep being awesome! Till next time!)
My name is Ashley "Ash" Joaquin Stark or at least that's the name that I use now. My original name was Ashley Joaquin Pierre before I was sent to a different universe other than my own. Before I was sent to this new universe, I was just a regular black teenager with a large afro living with his parents. 18 years old with no idea where to take his life. Nothing more, nothing less. I was one of those kids that weren't popular, but everyone just seemed to know who I was. Maybe I was recognizable or something.
There wasn't much to really write home about with my life, which I suppose was something to be grateful for. After all, most things that you write home about in life usually are negative. My life was pretty good all things considered. I had two loving parents, we weren't broke, nor did we live in a bad area. All things considered a pretty nice life, sure I had complaints usually with school, but who doesn't?
But if there was one thing that people know about me it was this. I love superheroes. I just adore superhero media, especially DC. Just the incredible amount of stories that have been written for so many different characters have always drawn me into them. However, despite my love for DC, my favorite comic book character isn't from it. He was from Marvel. Who is that character? Iron Man.
I mean, what's not to love? Robert Downey Jr's performance as Iron Man throughout the entire MCU was just incredible, the comics when he's written properly is one of the most complex and greatest heroes of all time. He's incredibly smart, really confident, and is great with the ladies. All qualities that I wasn't necessarily bad in, but I could definitely use some work.
He always believes that no matter what you can be better than what you are now. The fact that he thinks that you're not unworthy until you stop trying always spoke to me. The fact that he was a self made superhero that made his power through all of his own suits and technology was always something that was admirable to me.
So to try and imitate my favorite hero, I would always try to help everyone I could and to try and forget and forgive those who truly wanted to try again. After all, a few bad decisions doesn't mean you're permanently a bad person. There's always a chance to try again and come back better…to an extent of course.
Now you might be wondering how I got to the DC universe to begin with? Well, that's a bit of an awkward story, but here goes. I was on my way back to my house after shopping at the comic store. I just picked up Tony Stark: Iron Man issue 10 and I found myself at a crosswalk. I pressed the button and waited until I had the go to walk.
Well, the thing about following the rules is that just because you do doesn't mean everyone else will. You'll follow the rules to keep yourself safe, but it's a two-way deal. You can't be a hundred percent safe when following the rules when others aren't. That was when a gigantic truck sped by and collided with my body. I don't even remember feeling pain. It was just pressure and then nothing.
Then this is where things start to get interesting. I opened my eyes and I couldn't believe it. I was still alive somehow although I would quickly find out that wasn't the case. I was in a pure area of white light that was almost blinding to the eye and yet beautiful all at the same time.
Then I turned around and was met with a man. A shorter, older gentleman that wore a bowler hat, held an umbrella, and a yellow orb of glowing light. His eyes stared at me sadly as I rubbed my shoulder and looked away in confusion and worry.
"Um…hello?"
"Hello Ashley. I was hoping to meet you much farther down in your life."
"Who are you and how do you know my name?"
"I am called many things, but here are a few names that you might recognize. God, Yahweh, Jehovah, but this is something that might really catch your attention. The Presence."
My eyes widened comically as my jaw practically dropped down to my feet. The man standing in front of me was him. God. The ending and beginning of everything. The Alpha and Omega.
"Oh my God…Or is it oh my you?"
The man simply chuckled at my response and shook his head.
"It doesn't really matter to me, my boy."
Then the reality of the situation truly hit me and sadness filled my heart.
"So, I'm dead huh? I guess that means I'll be going to some kind of afterlife?"
"Yes, unfortunately you are dead, but you will not be going to the afterlife."
My eyebrows rose in response to that as I looked at him curious.
"I won't be? Then where will I be going?"
"You have perished far earlier than I was planning so I've decided on a plan B. You will be sent to a brand new universe of your choosing."
"But what about my family and friends? I'm thankful for the offer, but can't you send me back there?"
The entity shook his head sadly as he sighed.
"Unfortunately no, my boy. You've been dead for a few years now. I can't send you back, but there is a good payoff with this wish. You get to be sent to any universe you want with whatever abilities you need to thrive there."
If my jaw was dropped before, I had no clue how to describe it now. A whole new universe? Any universe that I wanted? I'd always get abilities? The fact that I wasn't able to go home was saddening, but I think my parents would actually slap me across the face if I didn't take this. This was just too good to pass up. However, even with that, I still had questions.
"Will I…still be me?"
"As in personality and look? Of course you will."
Alright, that was good. I didn't want to be anyone else other than me. Where would I go however? It had to be somewhere interesting, I didn't want to live a boring life with nothing to do. Then it suddenly hit me. I could go to the DC universe and I could be their Iron Man. Two of my favorite things put together. It was just too good of an offer not to take.
"I think I've got a good idea of where to go and what I'll be. I want to be transported to the DC universe, specifically the Young Justice universe. I am still a teenager and I think I would thrive well with the teenage superheroes. I want the abilities and attributes of Tony Stark/Iron Man with some added bonuses. Extremis and for my mind to be truly infinite. Not omniscient although I suppose I could become that with this wish. I want nothing to be too much for my brain to handle, I'll learn things instantly, I'll expand and create with things like it's nothing. A perfect photographic memory, for me to be hyper intelligent in all forms of intelligence, not just tech. Just for my mind to be infinite and for it to be infinitely limitless."
The Presence simply smiled at me as he nodded his head.
"Of course. Just so you know, you'll be a lot more powerful with Extremis than Tony Stark is in his universe. The DC Universe is a lot more dangerous and powerful than Marvel is and I want you to be better prepared for this new step. These things will be granted to you. Live a good life with this second chance."
"Thank you, but I just have to ask. Why me? Why am I getting this chance?"
"You want the truth? Well, you are The Chosen One of Reality and Fiction. All Reality and Fiction."
"Seriously?!"
"Yes, but keep in mind that doesn't mean anything on its own. You weren't born special nor did you have special abilities because you are The Chosen One. You're going to have to make it mean something. You understand?"
I nodded confidently to which he smiled.
"Good, I believe that you will do great things and be the hero you want to become. Save that world, expand, and save other worlds. I know you can do it. Oh and just as an added bonus, you're going to be very popular with the ladies. Good luck."
"Wait wha-"
Those were the final things I could get out before his hand was on my head and my eyes started to glow a blinding white and I was soon transported to the DC universe. When my eyes opened I was a newborn baby seeing my mother and father holding me. I giggled at their faces as they smiled back at me with love in their eyes.
I was being held by my mother while my father stood next to her and looked at me with love and admiration.
"Oh what are we going to call him dear?"
"Ash. Ashley Joaquin Stark."
A wide smile came across my young face as I began to giggle. This is where the fun begins.
