Later that night.......
Hotaru woke up to see a young boy in the door way of her room. He had brown hair and a braid. "Who are you?" Hotaru asked as Mechu woke up and looked at the boy, that was no older than Hotaru. "My name is Duo. What's yours' and what are you doing her?"
"My name is Hotaru and I live here with my grandfather." "Whose the dog?"
"Mechu" "Why do you live with your grandfather and I haven't seen you around?"
"My mother died and my dad didn't want to take care of me, and I just moved in today."
"Oh" "What are you doing here?" "Me, I just live here with the Doc." "Why don't you live with your parents?" "My mother died and just like you, my father didn't want me."
"Sorry." "Well you better go back to sleep and I probably will see you in the morning."
" Okay." Then he walked out of the doorway.

The next morning.....
Hotaru woke up with Mechu licking her face. "So you want to eat?"
"Woof" "I will take that as a yes." Then she took a shower and dressed and went downstairs. "Here you go" as she took some dog food and put it in Mechu's
bowls. Then she turned around and was stunned to see the boy from the doorway.
