CHAPTER 1: Where is princess Sofia?

„Cedric! Cedric!"

The banging on the door got heavier and more urgent.

"Your majesty?!" Cedric the sorcerer was quite irritated when he finally opened his door and found king Roland standing in front of him. He had expected a visitor today, but, well, not this one... "How can I help you?", he asked.

"Cedric, have you seen the children?", king Roland asked a little out of breath. He seemed all worried, so Cedric asked himself what might have happened.

"Maybe, they have gone for a ride with the horses, this morning?", he suggested. King Roland shook his head.

"First, I thought that, too", he admitted, "but, when I arrived at the mews this morning, the horses were all there. And when I asked the employees, they told me that they had not seen the children, neither."

Cedric furrowed his brows. That was strange. But, there were still other possibilities:

"Maybe, they went fishing, down at the lake?" No. "Or they're playing hide and seek somewhere in the palace garden?" Although they meanwhile had grown a little too old to play such games. - But, with these kids, you never knew... What? No, again? Okay, then...

Slowly, Cedric began to feel a little uncomfortable, when king Roland negated each of his suggestions where the royal kids could be this morning. That was truly strange. Normally, one was able to hear the princesses and their brother before one could even see them...

"We have already been searching everywhere inside the palace and the nearer surrounding, but until now, we haven't found anyone. That' why I thought, you could probably know where they went to. - Or, at least, where to search any further..."

King Roland sighed a little depressed, while Cedric got more and more alarmed. There was something terribly wrong, that was for sure by now. Sure, the royal sorcerer normally wasn't supposed to be the first one to know what the royal kids were up to, each day. But, the funny thing in this case was: Cedric always was. Due to princess Sofia, who normally insisted him to join their activities, even after so many years...

But today, it seemed as if the princess had broken her habits and decided not to tell anyone anything about what she and her siblings were planning to do. Of course, this also spared him from a day of hustle and bustle and chaos, that hadn't left his life since the first day princess Sofia had shown up at the palace, ten years ago. But this also meant, that there were some things about which the princess would not want to talk with him anymore...

But, wait. What, if she simply couldn't? Cedric felt his stomach starting to ache a little when he thought about the possibility, that something bad could have happened to the children. Sure, they were all grown up by now, but to him, they still were kids. And for their parents, they were, too.

"I'm sorry, your majesty", Cedric said, clearly aware of the worries and the growing desperation of the king, But, of course, I'll do my very best to help you find them.

He knew, that he had dragged himself into something basically unmanageable again with his words. But, still, he wanted to help the king. Ten years ago, he'd never have thought that he would come this far, but he truly liked those kids and would do anything to make sure, that they were save and sound...

"Thank you, Cedric", king Roland said and left the sorcerer alone again. As the whole thing made him worry, too, Cedric himself didn't waste anymore time and went out to search around the palace and the nearer surrounding, once again. There were places in- an outside the palace, that the king an his men couldn't have already searched, as they simply did not know those corners were even existing. This was some of the nice parts of dealing with magic: You were basically able to go everywhere...

"That simply can't be possible..."

After some hours of searching without any positive results, Cedric returned to the palace. There, he decided to try something else...

He remembered, Sofia still wearing the necklace, she already had as a child. He had put a locatingspell on it, to help him find her more easily from time to time. And it was almost a shame that he had simply forgotten to remove the spell after all this years and turn the piece of jewelry back to normal. But, sometimes, forgetting something can also help you at another time. And so, Cedric rummaged his wand and started concentrating...

He fixed his thoughts on princess Sofia. On her appearance, her voice, her movements, and the mixture of feeling stressed, worried and okay with everything at the same time, whenever she barged in without knocking on the door first and turned each day into a new fascinating catastrophe...

And – YES!- he actually found her.
It didn't even take too long until he was able to put up the contact between them. However, the magic vibes he received were quite weak. Just as if princess Sofia was pretty far away...

And the short flashing of a dark and environment, he definitely did not know, confirmed Cedric's fears that there was something not in order and he quickly had to do something against it.

...

Hello, everybody. :)

Here's another story about the Tangled the series characters. This time, it's crossed with the series 'Sofia the first'. The idea came to me, when a friend of mine wrote to me about the basic idea and later also send me a pretty cool picture with Cedric and Varian teamed up. (Once again: Thanks for that. ;*)

I hope, you enjoy reading this new story as much as you did 'Look what you made me do'. Have fun and stay healthy. See you next chapter.

Love, Eeva ^^
