Chapter-1
"NO SPELL CAN RAISE THE DEAD"
"NO MAGIC CAN BRING BACK THE DEAD"
"HARRY! YOUR FATHER IS DEAD. HOW CAN IT BE HIM SAVING YOUR LIFE IN THE FORBIDDEN FOREST"
"A SOFT SOOTHING FEMALE HUMMING. THE WOMAN IS HAVING BEAUTIFUL LUSCIOUS RED HAIR. SHE IS SMILING DOWN AT HIM. HE IS FEELING SO LOVED AND COSIED UP TOWARDS THE ARMS OF HIS MUMMY. FINALLY HE LOOKS INTO HER KIND, WARM AND TEARY GREEN EYES."
"HARRY BE BRAVE! BE ALWAYS BRAVE! MUMMA LOVES YOU! DADA LOVES YOU"
"HARRY, YOUR PARENTS AND I ARE ALWAYS PROUD OF YOU!"
Tears rolling down the cheeks of a bespectacled boy, eyes that were always compared to his mother, Harry finally came out of the dreams or rather the memories that always came every night and haunted the 15 year old boy. Blankets falling off from his bed, pillows tear stained, and sweat-stained bed cover under him. All of it showed that Harry couldn't sleep again and those nightmares are now also showing him memories that he never thought he could remember. He for the first time, saw his mother in his dream, singing lullaby to him. Every time he closes his eyes at night, he sees Cedric's lifeless eyes looking towards him in the Graveyard of the Little Hangleton. For past few weeks, he had not been able to sleep properly due to missing his one and only paternal figure, Sirius, his godfather whom he used to tease as his dogfather. When he finally was able to get the fatherly love and bonding with someone, who was close to his parents, the universe managed to snatch even that person away from him. Harry, again had tears of anger and frustration when he remembered how Sirius got killed in the Death Chamber from a killing curse from his own cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange. "How pathetic of me not to able to even crucio Bellatrix" Harry murmured while gritting his teeth in anger and grief.
Recently though something weird is happening. The memories that had only haunted him in the presence of the dementors, were also now encroaching upon his dreams, or rather nightmares. He already got a swat at his back and a burn along his left elbow for screaming at night from Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia. On top of it, Dudley's behaviour towards him was also puzzling. It feels as if after the dementor incident in the Privet Drive had occurred, there had been a change in Dudley's actions. He doesn't bullies him in the park with his gang, doesn't goes out of his ways to annoy Harry nor does anymore calls him names. In fact, he even managed to get Uncle Vernon off his back once when he tried to put him inside the cupboard under the stairs. Things have changed around in this home ever since he came back after his 5th year completed for his summer break.
He just can't help but pinpoint that something is going to change so soon. Ever since he came back to Privet Drive after witnessing the death of Sirius Black, he can feel a heavy magical pulse that sometimes echoes right from the bottom of his heart, followed by a deep reverberating echo that can be felt coming from the ground. There are times, when he feels as if something is calling him from the deep core of the earth, something unnatural yet soothing to his magic. This night, as Harry finally is able to get away from all the random thoughts going around his mind, just when he is about to sleep, he feels the water shaking inside the bottle right beside his bed on the side table. When he is about to get up from his bed, this time he felt that magical pulse again harder and out of nowhere, he sees a bright red pulsing light from his window, falling from the sky towards the ground. Then as he is about to dismiss it just as an imagination, every bike, car and SUV in the surrounding area starts making noise. In this racket of noises, he wasn't able to hear his uncle, and aunt coming towards his room. The moment, they enter his room, there is a deafening booming and crashing sound reverberating around the entire Privet Drive, followed by a pin drop silence. When his uncle started to walk towards him, he finally notices the heavy and plump figure of his uncle and said "I didn't do it. I am a wizard but even I do not have such power to create this noise!" Despite him telling the truth, Vernon Dursley, who now is pretty angry for not being able to sleep and seeing such weird incident around him, doesn't believes his nephew and raises his hand to punch Harry's face. Just when the fattening palm of his right hand is about to strike the jaw of Harry, he feels an electric jolt on his fingers and is blasted off at the opposite wall of Harry's room.
Petunia Dursley, upon seeing her husband getting strike that way, now walks toward Harry Potter, and despite noticing the injured head of her husband, doesn't learns from her mistake. She grabs the right arm of Harry and is about to bend it behind his back, when she is blasted in the same direction towards her husband. Vernon, despite being injured and having a throbbing pain at the back of his head, moves away at the right moment, so that his wife doesn't lands upon him. Both of them get scared and decides to leave Harry Potter's room at that moment. Vernon just gives a spiteful yet frightened look at his nephew and notices that there is a shocking and scared expression on Harry's face. For a fleeting moment, he thinks it is not Harry's fault and the second this thought comes in his mind, he sees an ephemeral yet shimmering emerald glow around his nephew encapsulating the entire taller but leaner figure of his nephew. But the next moment, he sees nothing around Harry anymore and feels uncomfortable whether what he saw was just a figment of his imagination. He looks back at his wife and gathers up her slowly in his bulky arms and gets up from the floor of the room. His wife, even though shocked and frightened to the core of her heart, is also sporting a surprised expression on her face.
"Vernon! Darling, I think I saw this bright green glow around Harry for few seconds. I think I am going crazy." She softly but fiercely whispers to Vernon while leaving the room. "I know. I saw the same thing. Let's not worry about it for now. Let's just ignore him from now on. He is a freak just like you said and always will be." Vernon Dursley softly whispers back to her wife and both go to their bed to get some much needed rest that never came that night for them.
"But I didn't do anything. What just happened? Is it due to that brightening red pulse that I just saw?!" Harry wondered in his mind while he sat in his bed. This weird incident left a mark in his mind and the much needed rest that never came that night for him.
"I am sorry, Harry for my parents. I wish I could have been a better cousin to you. But now I will make sure of it though. This is my promise to you." Dudley vowed to himself in his mind. While he is thinking of that, his eyes go towards the window of his room and sees the same brightening red pulse. For some reason, that scared him and even more so, the sounds of his dad's footsteps towards his cousin's room. But after following them towards Harry's room with very soft footsteps, when he sees the encounter between his parents and Harry, he realises that although he doesn't understand magic, he knows that this is not Harry's fault. He gets a feeling that something bigger is about to happen that may change everyone's life around him, including himself. He wanted to help his parents, yet he realised that they are the ones who are at the wrong side. He is ashamed and feels guilty of the verbal abuse and neglecting behaviour of his parents. He just goes to his bed to get some much needed rest that never came that night for him.
At the same time somewhere in the Highlands of Scotland, the air around the turrets of the castle shifts and changes. There is a pulsing beat that gets alive within the walls of this castle. A high supersonic sound, a deafening crash followed by continuous banging and a heavy pulsating magical ward that gets activate and then quietens. Then there are successive blasting noises of magical objects of every sort, both white and dark magic inside this castle starts occurring, wakening up the occupants of this castle. A tall man with white beard that reaches the belt of his dark purple night robes, comes quickly in his office and finds every magical artifact and item of his had been blasted around there creating a mess, that would need some elves to clear upon. The man, who is known as Headmaster Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, to whom nothing surprises him anymore, gets shaken up with a tear running down his cheek. He sees, or rather feels the same pulsing magical beat inside his heart that comes out of his form and flutters on left palm of his hand. It comes closer to the centre of his forehead and moves away from his stunned form. Before moving out of the office, this magical pulsing beat shines so brightly in front of him, that Albus Dumbledore had to close his eyes and when he opens them, he sees his room still a mess but that magical pulse is not there anymore.
In the Gryffindor Head's room, Professor McGonagall awakes with all the sounds still going on around her room. She, rather this time, feels that pulsing magical beat inside her heart, coming out from her and fleeting outside of her room's window. Her eyes starts blinking rapidly at what she just saw now and for the first time feels hope and comforting presence around her.
"Thank you! Severus. You are an amazing friend. I am proud of you." A beautiful woman with equally beautiful luscious wavy red hair with shining green eyes with tears in them tells to her best friend, Severus. Upon opening his eyes, the dark eyes are still misty and not a single day goes, when he doesn't forgets his best friend who is also the only person who he ever loved. He gets up towards the toilet, when he hears a crackling sound of something that was both harsh to his eardrums and also terrifying. He goes towards his office that is right beside his room and sees all his potions ingredients along with other magical items that have been destroyed. For some reason, he goes towards the potion pantry where he keeps ingredients separate for his students and sees all of the vials had been broken as well. Then he notices a crack running from the bottom of the wall towards the ceiling. He wears his night robes and walks rapidly towards the headmaster's office. If any student saw him now, everyone would say, Severus Snape got style.
"Lemon drop." Snape gives the password to the gargoyle that is at the bottom of the revolving stairs that goes in upward direction towards the Headmaster's office. He gets onto the stairs once the gargoyle moves and upon landing on the floor of Headmaster's office, knocks on the door. "Come in." A deeper baritone voice replies. He enters inside and sees the entire faculty of Hogwarts School seated around Albus's desk in chairs across from him. Upon getting seated himself and still bit surprised looking at everyone awake at this hour of night, he tells the headmaster about what he saw and heard inside his office. Surprisingly everyone had faced the same thing. The headmaster he doesn't have any explanation to this as of now. He may have an idea in his mind, but rather doesn't thinks of sharing it for now. The Daily Prophet finally along with the Ministry of Magic believes him and Harry that Tom Riddle is back. He doesn't want to ruffle the wrong feathers or rather prefers keep his wild theory away from reaching to the ears of Riddle Jr. Upon hearing everyone's accounts, he tells them to sleep it off and they can discuss about it tomorrow morning at faculty meeting. Snape decides to stay back to tell about his dream that had occurred after such a long time. When Dumbledore hears it, his lips tilts towards one side, as if he is in some thought.
"Perhaps!" he wonders.
"Albus, what do you think just happened? I feel at unease that there is something happening over a long period of time but we are ignoring it. There is something in front of our eyes yet we haven't seen it."
"Severus, I think you are right. I might have to look upon this myself. I feel this magical pulse have got strong today. Somehow somewhere something an unknowing thing had happened."
"But Albus, we are encountering this magical rush of energy since the time Dark Lord came back from his restoration ceremony!"
He notices a flash of surprise in Dumbledore's eyes that he thought might have imagined. But it was back to its annoying twinkling blue eyes under his glasses.
"You are right, Severus. How come I missed it! Give me few days. I will look upon this weird magical phenomenon. I might have a theory but at this point, it is neither here nor there. We will talk about it when I gather some information. For the time, I will go to the kitchen to grab a cup of dark chocolate."
Severus understood and left the office to go back to his room. Everyone went back to their room with wandering thoughts in their mind, yet couldn't get the much needed rest, that couldn't come at the night.
The sounds, screams, and shrieks that were echoing out from the pain, grief and anguish of the souls inside the death chamber had send replicating magical outbursts at the British Ministry of Magic. The air around the Veil was dark, menacing, and smelled of death.
The air around the Potter's Cottage was reeking smell of death, and one can still hear the anguished scream of a mother trying to protect her baby boy. Rather successfully protecting her son at the cost of her life.
"Harry! I am coming back"…
