Downtown Macon, hell on earth these days. The dead had risen and began to swallow the town, and seemingly the rest of the world with it. People were in a panic, some tried to hold up inside buildings while others chose to loot them instead. Cars were flipping over, people were being killed, killing each other, hell even killing themselves. This is where Scott West found himself, a store hand from the small hardware store. The clean-shaven African American man was one of the few who attempted to stay safe inside, hunkering down in the hardware store for hours before it was clear he'd meet his doom if he didn't escape.

Mustering his courage Scott ran out from behind the cashier counter and to the nearest wall where he grabbed a metal carpenter hammer. With a firm grip on the handle, the black man took a few deep breaths before sprinting to the front door and kicking it open, running out into the armageddon on the streets. All around him, Scott saw terrifying sights, the streets were looking like something only comparable to the worst riots ever seen.

Many of the parked cars were looted, tires and batteries were stolen right out of them. The vehicles that had been attempting to drive out of here were all crashed, some into each other others into telephone poles. Smoke bellowed out of nearly all of them, blackening the sky while flames began to engulf some of the wrecks entirely. The streets themselves were covered in trash, broken glass, and even more worryingly blood and body parts. Though the most chilling thing was the literal walking corpses that were feeding on the living who continued to fall into their clutches.

Scott's brown eyes were wide and he slowly spun around, trying to figure out where he should go. In between all the chaos, three things caught his attention. Up the street near the Everett Pharmacy was clearly a father and daughter trying to force their way inside the boarded-up building. The younger brown-haired woman was loudly yelling for her father to get the doors opened. The elder, towering in both height and size, was slamming his large booth into the center of the right door.

Further up the same street was a young Asian man who had merely stepped out of his pizza delivery car to look for a safe route to drive out was attacked by one of the dead. He could hear the man yelling out desperately for help while he struggled to keep the walker away. Scott then looked left down the street and saw a new's reporter van surrounded by nearly a dozen of the dead. He could see a man with a green shirt and cargo shorts bravely running towards the vehicle and he could just make out the sight of two women inside, one was screaming fearfully while the other was confidently telling her to stay calm, shooting occasionally at the dead through the windows.

Scott wanted to run but he couldn't bring himself to just abandon all these people, knowing that his choice of helping could be the difference of life or death sat too vividly in the man's head. Clutching the hammer in his hand tightly he glanced around once more, knowing he only had enough time to help one of the survivors. The father and daughter, the lone pizza delivery driver, or the man trying to save the doomed news reporters?

Hey everyone, so this is my first fic that I'm writing and yes, it is heavily inspired by the active fic by . Though while Duncan's fic is based on choosing the readers to decide what Lee does with different results this one will add Scott West as the main character, who will be apart of the other group. I thought it'd be interesting to have a character who may have to work with Lee or be able to do things while Lee does what he normally did in the canon playthrough. Plus, this made it so I didn't have to just retell the beginning with Clementine as well as Hershel's farm. Hopefully, this will have a good response and I also hope no one thinks I am attempting to steal Duncan's idea as I was merely inspired to create one as well!
