Alpha mage failed, I am taking what I learned to make something better. Enjoy!
I know when he will be involved in the main plot, I know the literal episode.
"What do you want?" The harsh voice startled Brian just after he rang the bell to the large mansion before him. Slowly, after about a minute, a harsh face appeared all white and skeletal, dressed in a red hoodie cloak thing.
Nodding and bowing low, Brian asked. "My name is Brian, and I would like you to teach me magic."
The man gaped. "Really, you are really serious? Why me? Most don't even believe in magic anymore in this realm"
Brian pulled out a book, his grimoire. "I found this, I am a writer. I know, I am only thirteen but it is my goal in life. My dream. I found this book at a local thrift shop. I cast a spell in it, just saying it made the book glow a soft purple before it took my energy and made the room glow with this unearthly white light... but, to my shock, there was a consequence to my meddling. I nearly died, I was in a coma for three days, totally drained of whatever fuels magic. I was amazed, cause it worked, but I do not want to die."
"And this come s to me... how?"
Brian sighed. "I can feel magic now, since it hit me. It is a dull warmth under my skin. I live a few roads over, with my foster parents and I could feel you like a living sun! I knew you could help. I am willing to do anything, literally anything to be trained. I will be your personal servant if I have to."
The man stopped, eyes wide. "You would really do that, just to learn magic?"
"I am not blind, I saw the news over the last few years. All those weird attacks, strange animals, all over the U.S. I know something is coming, something big, maybe magic, maybe aliens or mutants or something... something big. I do not want to die... I always thought I would be nothing, but this.. this gives me hope of being more... so, I ask, can you help me?"
The man smirked. "I am a villain, you know, one of those that have hurt so many... you still want me to help you?"
"I never said I want to help others, just myself. I don't care who you hurt, so long as I survive and thrive. Surely having a well trained, powerful soldier and servant is appealing?"
The man laughed, long and hard. "I have a niece, Charmcaster, one that is also trained in the mystic arts. She and I have had... disagreements, so it has been a while since I have had one follow my orders... very well, I will teach you, but you must obey me, my every word!"
"What do I call you?"
"Names have power, that is your first lesson, free of charge. Call me Hex... "
Brian frowned. "I know I told you my name, not knowing that truth... I guess there is no point in making a name for myself just yet... and thank you."
The man smirked. "I do belive it is time I have a child, I will see about Fostering you, that way you can work for me full time."
Brian shrugged. "I already graduated highschool, so I do not have anything else to do. No one will question my not going to school, if that helps."
"Oh, so you are smart. That will help. Now, come with me, and I will find you a room."
And so started Brian's path, one of magic, and might and the means to make his own destiny...
If only he knew how hard it would be...
