Chapter 1: The Two Souls
The sensation that was nothing made itself known across Frisk's entire body as she floated in the void. Here, all senses were naught as there was nothing to see, nothing to hear, and nothing to feel. The only persisting experience in the space between realities was the lack of it. This was the fate that both the newest fallen child and the first fallen child consigned themselves too.
A sacrifice to SAVE everyone else.
"You know," the voice of the first child began, "I never would have guessed how boring being in the literal nothingness of reality would be. Go figure."
The first child, or Chara as she preferred, had once been the adoptive daughter of the monster royalty a long, long time ago. A wandering SOUL who hated humanity so much they'd rather fling themselves down a hole than be surrounded by what she despised. Yet somehow, she found a family at the bottom of that hole. But alas her time with her new family would come to an abrupt end and her body would perish, leaving her wondering determined SOUL to cling to life.
Unfortunately, time had a way of wearing down everything and the first child's SOUL would be rendered to nothing but a shell filled with her darkest impulses.
Then there was Frisk, the last child to fall down the mountain and the last person to hold the power to RESET.
"Hmm," came her reply to her other's statement.
"Don't ya think we may have made a mistake savin' everyone and ending up banishing ourselves to this empty hole in the universe?" Chara asked sarcastically/actually meant it.
"No."
"Of course not, why did I think you'd change your mind after being stuck here for who knows how long," the voice grumbled, "your sense of JUSTICE is almost a bad as your DETERMINATION some times."
Frisk furrowed her eyebrows at that statement. "There's nothing wrong with that," she said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the non-world.
Chara scoffed. Her latest host/prison had always been the kind to do what they can to help out anyone and anything. She'd often stop whatever she was doing to help out a monster, even if it was such a minor thing like helping them find a pen they dropped ten feet behind them.
Frisk was so nice that it took several tries to even get her to kill someone by accident let alone on purpose. She lost count after awhile, but eventually Chara finally had her way, even got Frisk to start enjoying it for a little while. Although everything flipped back again and now they were both stuck in nothing.
There was a possibility that Frisk could get them out, but not only did she not know how, she also had no desire to do that in the first place. Chara figured that it was a penance in her closed eyes. Heck, Frisk convinced her to bring them both here in the first place.
Unfortunately for Frisk, however, their time spent here was beginning to wear down on her resolve and she knew it.
Frisk had a desire to make friends and being stuck here with your dead, adoptive sister that lives in your SOUL could only take her so far. She craved companionship; she craved something new, but was it enough to return to reality after what they had done together?
"I know you want to return," Chara began, "there's nothing wrong with wanting something, especially when it's the same thing that drove you to the Underground in the first place. But you said it yourself; we go back everything would fall apart again."
Frisk knew that, she always knew. It was difficult for Chara to control her impulses as it was, returning home would only start the cycle all over again. She didn't want that, she could only take so much heart break at once.
And so the two returned to silence and continued existing in non-existence.
Then after what felt like an eternity something appeared.
Frisk's head immediately snapped up from her slumber, having felt the presence of something else in the nothing. She turned her head to look behind her and saw what looked like a purple vortex of some kind.
"What is that and how did it get here?" Chara asked with caution in her voice.
Frisk look to the vortex as if in a trance. Could-could this be a way out?
The other child noticed her behavior, "Hey Frisk, what are you doing? Frisk?"
The host child stared at the object some more before reaching out with a hesitant hand as Chara piped up again.
"If that's what I think it is, then you know why it's a bad idea. We both promised that we'd stay away from the Underground after SAVEing everyone, are you sure you want this? I won't blame you for dong it."
Frisk knew she had to stay here to protect everyone she loved from Chara and herself, but it hurt. Her heart hurt for people she could see, it hurt to be here without anyone she could be with, and it hurt to be alone.
Despite all her DETERMINATION she caved into her selfish desire and touched the vortex.
Immediately it overcame her without any sound and everything went dark.
"Whelp, here we go again. Let's hope this doesn't end terribly for the both of us."
-XXXX-
When Frisk finally came too she found herself lying down face first on hard concrete. Her eyes were blurry and her head hurt, but she still tried to right herself up. Vision swimming, the young eight year old took a moment to regain her bearings before getting to her feet, it was then she noticed that she was in an alley between two buildings. Everything was bright and the sounds of a city could be heard echoing off the walls surrounding her. Confused, Frisk looked up to see a happy blue sky above her.
Her infamously closed eyes opened in shock.
"The Surface?" she murmured.
Chara was less than happy with this new development.
"NO! No, no, no! Why did it have to be the surface!?" she cried out in Frisk's SOUL, "This is the last time I let you make a decision like this!"
Frisk ignored her adoptive sister and began to think. The last she could remember, she and Chara had left the seal on the Underground knowing that, without them, the monsters wouldn't take to the surface like they would if they were present.
Yet, something felt off about this place.
"Agh! I keep forgetting your still an eight year old, you can't make big decisions like this," Chara continued to vent.
Frisk pouted, "You were only ten."
"Yeah, so, I'm still older!"
Frisk huffed; arguing with Chara while she was in this state was pointless. So instead the young girl made her way out of the alley on still somewhat wobbly legs and into the day light.
What she saw wasn't quite what she expected.
Surrounding her was what she assumed were various stores and shops along a wide walkway filled with numerous people, humans to be specific. Scratch that, not just humans as she could make out several beings walking about that were defiantly not humans, or at least fully human.
She watched as a being made of what seemed like stone walk along the side of another person that seemed to have large tusks coming out of their mouth. There was even a robot man on a really flat phone and dressed in a really nice suit walking into a building. It seemed that most of everyone had something odd about them. Did the monsters get out?
While Frisk tried to wrap her head around this, Chara began to sputter in confusion.
"W-what, how, who? Why are there humans with a bunch of monsters walking around and why do the humans have weird stuff too!?"
Chara manifested herself as a spirit besides Frisk and floated up closer to one lady with what appeared to be feathers for hair and began inspecting every inch of her. It was a good thing that only Frisk could see Chara when she manifested her spirit as the first child got right in the woman's face.
"Did the monster's get out and start…? No, that's impossible monsters and humans can't reproduce and make offspring it just doesn't work like that," the sprit child stammered to herself.
Frisk had no idea what any of that meant. So while Chara tried to rationalize with herself, the quiet eight year old looked into the lady's SOUL and she was surprised to find that she was fully human.
Chara looked perplexed, "No that's impossible, humans are humans not…these, whatever they are! Frisk did humans start mutating while I was gone? Was that the reason why so many others fell down the hole in Mt. Ebott?"
Frisk looked around and into the SOULs of everyone that walked about and sure enough, all of them had the SOUL of a human.
Chara took a moment to "breath" and calm down before addressing Frisk again, "Alright, great, just perfect! Not only are we surrounded by humans we're surrounded by humans that are turning into monsters, but still have human SOULs. Argh, you just had to touch that stupid thing didn't' you."
The sprit child returned into Frisk's SOUL as she continued. "Whatever, that's not important. Let's just find out where we are first before we start killing everyone."
"Chara," Frisk protested.
"What? Look just try to find something out, we need to get our bearings. Just be careful, Frisk. Humans can't be trusted like monsters can."
With that the first fallen child went silent leaving Frisk to do what she usually did when she was somewhere new and began to wander around.
She noticed the signs that hung over the various shops were in some language she didn't understand. Now she wasn't the best reader out there, but whatever these signs said was a mystery to her. Even so she was enamored with the bright neon and unique designs of the text as her young mind wished to see all the new things. Still though, she continued walking past people in search of a map or something.
Speaking of people, many of them looked as the little girl as she walked around, seemingly without a parent or guardian, and a few began to wonder why there was an eight year old walking around on her own. Ultimately though nothing came of it and Frisk was allowed to freely wander the plaza.
Another oddity that the eight year old noticed was the fact that she could understand the people here and she was pretty sure they were nowhere near her original home. Odd as it was she wrote it off, it wasn't important anyway.
After about ten minutes of wandering about Frisk decided to simply ask someone, despite Chara's protests, that's when she spotted an odd figure in the crowd. Saying that someone was an odd sight in her current predicament was surly something to notice and the individual she spotted stood out in an already strange crowd.
Standing strait with his hands on his hips was what Frisk assumed was a man dressed in a dark blue skin tight body suit that showed his lean frame. His head, arms, waist, and legs where covered in what looked like wooden pieces of armor. He looked to be watching over the passing crowd of people as his eyes kept jumping from one position to the next rapidly. Some passersby greeted him and he would return the gesture and some people straight up took pictures with their thin phones.
An interesting thing to note, however, was the man's SOUL. So far the SOULs of the people walking around were all rather dim with only fleeting wisps of the seven traits, but this man's SOUL shined both yellow and a small flame of purple. Whoever this guy was he had a strong sense of justice aided by his perseverance, perhaps he'd be able to help her out.
As she made it to the strange man he was waving off someone with a note pad, "Sorry ma'm, but I can't do autographs right now I'm on patrol, perhaps another time." The woman pouted and walked away giving Frisk the opportunity to approach.
"Excuse me." she said while tugging on his arm.
The wood man's head turned to her at the touch to see the small child tugging at his arm.
With his attention on her, Frisk asked her question, "Can you help me, I'm lost."
-XXXX-
Kamui Woods had spent the better part of his day doing his regular patrol rout and soon it would be time for his shift to end. So at the final stretch of his shift the rookie hero watched over the crowded shopping plaza like a hawk. Thankfully nothing had happened so far and he was more than willing to keep it that way, such was the wish of heroes after all.
The downside of being in such a populated area meant that there were those who recognized him and wanted a picture or an autograph. He wasn't against the fans and the exposure the career of heroics brought to the table, in fact he gladly accepted the attention as long as it didn't interfere with his work. So he allowed pictures and pointing as he patrolled through the plaza, but autographs would have to wait. Large crowded areas like this were hot beads for trouble.
"Sorry ma'm," he began, "but I can't do autographs right now I'm on patrol, perhaps another time."
The young woman who he turned down walked away with a pout, but otherwise didn't raze a fuss over it. Kamui Woods was about to continue his patrol when a small hand tugged his arm accompanied by a very young voice, "Excuse me."
He looked down to the small presence to see a small child holding one of his wooden fingers.
"Can you help me, I'm lost," they asked.
The child was small, likely seven or eight and had copper brown skin. They had a round baby face, bushy drown hair, and a small bandage on their nose. A puffy, blue sweater with two purple stripes across the abdomen covered the kid's torso while simple blue shorts that reached down to the middle of their knees covered their legs. A few more bandages were doted on the exposed portion of their legs, each one different then the other. Finally the kid's feet were covered in simple blue and purple sneakers and puffy white socks. Also their eyes never seemed to open, even when she stared right at the hero's own.
By the kid's appearance alone the wood limbed hero wouldn't have been able to identify if they were a boy or girl, but the pitch of their voice suggested the latter.
It was clear to Kamui Woods that this child wasn't from Japan, or at least wasn't fully Japanese, based off her appearance, Quirk or otherwise.
"Lost? Did you lose your parents somewhere, kid?" the hero asked while lowering himself to match the young girl's height.
She responded with a shake of her head causing her bushy hair to sway along with the motion before saying, "No, I don't recognize this place. I woke up in an alley and kinda wandered around for a bit, but there's nothing I remember here."
Now that got the hero's full attention, "Wait, you woke up in an alley? Do you know how you got there?"
"Not really, I touched some weird purple thing and then next thing I know I'm lying down somewhere else," in an adorable display she moved her hand near her mouth and tilted her head, "Do you know where I am Mr.?"
The rookie hero was glad he had a helmet on because the girl's adorable baby face caused him to blush at her cuteness. 'Seriously she could weaponize that face of her's,' he thought to himself before getting his mind back on track. "Well we're in Musutafu city, more specifically a shopping plaza near town square. Does any of that sound familiar?"
The kid shook her head. That's not what he hoped to hear. Perhaps if he got a name he could get her the help she needed.
"Okay, what about your name?"
The child brightened at the question as a cute smile graced her baby face.
Kamui Woods' heart clenched at the cuteness.
"I'm Frisk!" she stated enthusiastically, her arms swinging back and forth, "What's your name?"
The rookie huffed; right they were a little late on introductions, so he introduced himself, "I'm the Pro-Hero Kamui Woods, I was on patrol when you came up to me."
The little girl, Frisk, stopped swinging her arms as a small frown made it onto her face. She tilted her head in confusion, while raising an eyebrow. "What a Pro-Hero?" she asked.
To say Kamui Woods was a little surprised was an understatement. He wasn't disappointed over the fact that she didn't know his hero name, as he was still making his mark in Japan, but having no knowledge of Pro-Heroes was strange. Not knowing what a Pro-Hero was in the literal "Era of Heroes" was asking to be called stupid in today's society.
Perhaps it was just the child's naivety or confusion with something else, but even four year olds knew what Pro-Hero's were.
"D-do you not know what a hero is?"
Frisk rested an elbow on her other arm and held her chin in the classic 'think pose' while sticking out her lower lip.
"Hmm, I know Undyne is considered a hero by a bunch of people. Does that count?"
The perplexed Pro-Hero had no idea who that was.
"Uhh, look Frisk, why don't you come with me to the police station so we can get you some help. How does that sound?" he asked.
Frisk started waving her arms side-to-side now, "I don't know. My sister says not to follow weirdoes who wear tights and has wood for hands."
Kamui Woods felt his mind go numb from that statement. 'That was way too specific,' he muttered to himself. He felt as if someone was laughing at him.
"Uh, l-look you have nothing to be afraid of, I'm a hero, it's our job to protect those who can-"
He was cut off when a loud crash rang through the air behind him followed by a woman screaming. Quickly standing and turning his head to the noise he saw three villains run out of a shop with bags full of items and money. One of them breathed fire into the air which caused any civilians close to them to back away.
"Back up and make us a path!" the same man yelled.
The people did as he said, not wanting to get hurt by the sudden appearance of a criminal.
The Pro-Hero immediately sprang into action, not before addressing Frisk. "Stay here kid I need to handle this."
With that he quickly extended his wooden legs to launch himself into the air toward the retreating villains and leaving a surprised Frisk alone.
-XXXX-
"Well that was something," Chara said floating next to her adoptive sister.
"Should we wait for him like he said?"
The spirit child scoffed, "Pfft, no. We already have what we needed from him anyway so let's get out of here."
Frisk frowned, but otherwise followed Chara's advice and made her way past the crowd of on lookers. She eventually made her way out of the plaza and began aimlessly wandering down the street before her stomach began to grumble. She hadn't felt hungry at all when in the void so perhaps it was all catching up to her now.
The small child checked to see if she still had anything from the Underground, but alas her inventory was empty. She did still have all her gold though so she began looking for a shop to by food from as well as lamenting for not thinking about it back at the plaza.
Her stomach growled louder as she continued to look and she clutched her middle as if to try and stop the noise. Thankfully she spotted what looked to be a small booth that was selling bowls of those instant noodles that Alphys likes so much just off the street. Making her way over she took note a board that held the menu, which she couldn't read.
There were some pictures of what she assumed were bowls of soup they sold so she figured she'd just point to one of those. She wasn't a picky eater.
Walking up to the booth Frisk waited patiently for someone to acknowledge her presence. Her face barely made it over the window sill.
After a moment the window opened allowing various smells to waft through into the open air. Sticking themselves out of the service window was another girl, only she had pink skin and had small yellow horns sticking out of her bushy hair which was also pink. Perhaps her most striking feature was her eyes which where pitch black with amber pupils. She was also much older than Frisk being in her teens.
The girl looked out the window her board expression turning to confusion as she looked around. Then she looked down and her alien like eyes met Frisk's closed ones. A moment of silence persisted as the teen stared blankly at the small girl, before Frisk broke the ice.
"Hi," she said simply with a raised hand.
The response she got was a loud squee from the pink girl.
"Oh my god, you're so cute!" she declared leaning over to get a better look, "You're so small you can barely reach the counter with your tiny little face, AHH!"
"Heh, she's totally gushing over you," Chara teased.
Frisk pouted.
"Mina! Stop shouting and take an order!" came a man's voice from somewhere in the booth.
The teen, Mina, stopped her cuteness gushing and stood strait, cheeks still flushed, "R-right, sorry Yoshi-san."
Taking a breath, the pink girl returned her attention back to Frisk, "Sorry about that. That wasn't professional, uhh, what can I get you?"
Frisk pouted at the teen for a moment more before pointing at one of the soup pictures on the menu beside the stall. Mina leaned out to see what she was pointing at before confirming, "So you want some shio-ramen then?"
The small child nodded. It really didn't madder what it was just so long as it was edible and not construction paper.
"Uh, sure just give us a sec okay?" and with that Mina turned around and relayed the order to, what Frisk assumed was the cook, and received a "Wah-ho!" in response before closing the service window.
Now all Frisk had to do was stand in place and await her food. Chara took that moment to pipe up, "Well, Pinky here seems to have taken quite easily by your little baby face there, partner. Hey, makes it easier to stab 'em in the end."
Frisk frowned at that assessment. It was always with the stabbing, her sister. "Chara," she whined.
"What? I was just joking…mostly."
Before Frisk could say anything, the sliding window opened up again to revile Mina with a plastic bowl in her right hand. She was about to call out when she noticed that Frisk was still standing in the same spot that she left her in.
"Oh, well here you go! One piping hot bowl of shio-ramen for the cute little kid!" she declared, handing the bowl of soup down to Frisk, "Now that's going to be five hundred and twenty nine yen."
Frisk didn't know what yen was, but if it was anything like gold then that was quite a lot.
Chara seemed to agree, "Geez these people are thieves, not that it's much of an issue any way, but still!"
Frisk took a moment to rummage around one of her sorts big pockets before withdrawing a sack fill with the required amount of gold and threw it onto the counter. It was a good thing she had all the gold she had accumulated over every RESET.
The teen looked at the gold that spilled out as the little girl took the ramen bowl out of her hand along with some sticks sitting on top.
"Bye," she waved as she walked away leaving poor Mina dumbstruck.
-XXXX-
Mina couldn't believe what she was looking at, a sack as big as a volley ball filled with gleaming gold coins. Her mind could not process.
"What?"
"Mina-san, what's wrong? They not payin'?" her boss asked.
"N-no the kid paid it's just…they overpaid," she said still looking at the gold.
"A kid huh? Well get their parents over here and let 'em know."
The pink teen looked up in realization, 'I didn't see anyone else out here.'
There was a kid walking around town, without adult supervision, handing out sacks of gold for food.
Mina tried to wrap her head around that for the next five minutes.
-XXXX-
Chopsticks.
Frisk was never good with them like Alphys was or even Undyne (who would just end up pouring the soup down her throat), so the soup stared at her in mocking defiance.
Frisk had parked herself on a bench to eat her expensive meal with varying degrees of success. Chara's ethereal spirit sat next to her also looking at the bowl of ramen.
"…That looks really good actually," she said suddenly.
The younger sibling looked to Chara and nodded, noodles hanging out of her mouth as she tried (and failed) to eat them with the two wooden sticks.
"You think they got butterscotch pie around here?"
"But you can't eat it."
"Sure I can!" a pause, "When I'm in control."
Frisk and Chara continued to converse for a while earning some odd looks from passersby. Most people figured it was just a little girl talking to her imaginary friend.
By the time Frisk had finished her meal the sun was beginning to dive toward the horizon, soon it would be dark and she needed a place to stay for the night.
"We should find a place to say," Chara reiterated. (I just said that)
Frisk agreed, but before she could get up from the bench a voice caught her attention.
"Hey kid, what are you doing out so late?"
Turning her heads Frisk and Chara looked to see a woman walk toward them with a look of concern.
The lady was of a decent height, standing taller than Frisk (not that it was hard). She was garbed in a comfortable purple over coat that was left open exposing a white shirt underneath. Around her neck was a small gold necklace with a tear shaped charm which was a dark blue. She also wore a darker purple skirt that stopped just above her knees allowing it to cover up her thighs as well as give decent maneuverability. She also wore a pair of high heels that gave her a few extra inches.
Her skin was pale, but not to the point of porcelain and Chara noted that her face was incredibly youthful; she looked to be in her early twenties. Her hair was an ash blond color and stuck out in a seemingly random, but orderly way. It was puffy and if it wasn't for the sharp angles her hair would have look like Frisk's.
One thing that Frisk, Chara, and this woman did share was red eyes, only her's were simply a bright red while Frisk's eyes seemed to glow crimson.
Slung over her left shoulder was a purse.
The lady spoke again bringing Frisk out of her observation, "Well? Where are your parents?"
Frisk simply answered, "Their not here."
"If they're not here then why are you outside in the middle of the city alone? You didn't sneak out did you?" her eyes narrowed at the child suspiciously.
"I can't sneak out, I don't have a house," she said too casually, Chara face palmed.
The woman's eyes widened at that, "Wait, by no house do you mean you're an orphan?"
Frisk just shrugged, "I guess?"
Silence between the two lasted for a moment as the woman looked at the girl with shock.
"How long have you been by yourself in the city?" It was a reasonable question, she had nothing to hide.
"I don't know, I woke up in an alley in some place with a bunch of shops."
The now incredibly stunned woman's eyes somehow got even bigger as her mouth hung open. She looked like she was having a hard time forming words to respond to that.
"Woke up in a-did you try finding help!?"
Frisk nodded, "Yeah, I tried asking some guy with wood for arms, but he had to take care something and left me."
Now her face contorted into a grimace and looked to the side as she muttered under her breath. Sounded like "Hero's and their stupid priorities" but Frisk couldn't be sure. The lady turned back to her and walked up closer.
"Look it's getting late and I can't just let you stay on the streets alone, so why don't you come with me to my house and tomorrow we can see about taking you to the police station to figure everything out? How does that sound?"
Frisk took a minute to think about it. Well last time she followed some unknown woman to her home she ended up getting pie and a nice bed to sleep in. After that she ended up going on an adventure that eventually revived a the dead child of said woman and eventually adopted Chara as her loving, if homicidally unstable, sister so what did she have to lose? Worked out last time didn't it?
Chara saw the smile slowly making its way onto Frisk's face. She knew that face.
"Frisk wait, we can't just-"
"Sure!" Frisk answered enthusiastically.
The spirit child threw her hands up in defeat, "Oh for Pete's sake!"
Incapable of hearing Chara, the woman smiled in relief and offered her right hand. "Come on, my house isn't far. We should get there by sun down."
Frisk happily accepted the nice lady's hand and they began to walk down the street together, much to Chara's dismay. Eventually she simply returned to Frisk's SOUL stating she didn't want to be around anymore humans today.
After a moment the lady in purple spoke up once more, "Oh I forgot to ask, what's your name kid?"
Frisk looked up and smiled, she always like introducing herself to new people, "My name's Frisk."
"Just Frisk?"
"Mmhm."
The woman holding the child's hand smiled and introduced herself, "Well it's good to meet you Frisk, my name's Bakugo Mitsuki."
This lady remained Frisk of Toriel a little bit. She wasn't as tall and wasn't a monster, but they shared the same colors. Now that she thought about it this whole situation reminded her of the ruin segment of the cycle, baring the randomly attacking monsters and "puzzles" she was asked to complete; and ya know, the not being underground thing helped too.
They walked for some time in silence occasionally making small talk when Mitsuki asked the odd question or two. Like if Frisk ever opened her eyes, to which she replied with "No". By the time they arrived at the Bakugo residents the sun had set just like Mitsuki had predicted. The building was impressive with three stories and a lovely front walk way. The walls were tan and the roof was green along with the windows. The left side of the building was sloped while the right held a balcony on the second floor and the front door was underneath a section jutting forward with two very large stylized windows. Over all it was a nice place, not as small as Toriel's house but not as massive as the royal castle.
Upon entering the house Frisk was met with a roomy living room with two large couches that faced each other and a coffee table placed in between. The room was nice and looked well lived in.
"Well here we are, my humble abode," Mitsuki said with a little pride.
"Welcome home honey," came a voice.
Frisk looked over to see a man sitting in a chair in the corner of the room holding a book which he closed and then stood up.
The man was wearing a blue polo, tan pants, brown shoes, and a pair of glasses sat in front of his brown eyes. He was about as tall as Mitsuki, maybe a bit taller and had a slightly darker skin tone. His hair was brown and was kept in a neat arrangement of spikes and angles, much like Mitsuki's just not as puffy looking. He also had a small moustache growing under his nose.
A pleasant smile graced his face as he approached as did Mitsuki.
"Hi, Masaru," they shared a quick kiss, "How have you and the brat been?"
"We've been fine. Katsuki is in his room studying right now so he'll be locking himself up for a bit."
Mitsuki rolled her eyes, "Ugh, that brat doesn't even bother to say hi to his mom when she gets home."
The man, Masaru, smiled at his wife's comment knowing how true it was before he noticed the small presence standing next to his wife. Looking down he saw Frisk looking at him.
"Oh. Who's this kid Mitsuki?" he asked.
"Oh right, this is Frisk. I found her sitting on a bench on my way home. It was getting late so I asked where her parents were and she told me she was an orphan," Mitsuki explained, "I offered to give her a place to stay for the night and then I was going to take her down to the police station tomorrow. Figured they could help her out."
Masaru nodded as she spoke.
Mitsuki then looked down to Frisk and gestured to the man, "This is my husband Masaru."
Masaru gave a polite smile and a small wave which Frisk returned. "So my wife tells me you didn't have a place to stay?" he asked crouching to Frisk's level, "Well you're welcome to stay with us for the night we'd be happy to accommodate you until you can get everything sorted out."
The little girl smiled at the acceptance; at least both of the parents were willing to give her a place to stay for the moment. It really did remind Frisk of times past.
Mitsuki called form the far side of the room having placed her purse on the coffee table, "Might as well make yourself comfortable, we'll get our spare set up in a little bit so feel free to take a seat on the couch while you wait."
Frisk walked into the living room at the invitation and climbed onto one of the couches. Masaru went to join his wife in the kitchen leaving Frisk to her thoughts. Her first day in this new place and she had already seen some very strange things and met some interesting people.
The SOULs of Mitsuki and Masaru were similarly pale like most of the other people she had seen around town, but they both had flickers of KINDNESS within them.
They were nice people and Frisk was grateful that they showed kindness rather than attack her first out of the blue like she was use to. Granted, not being labeled "kill on sight" helped with that too.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the couple's voices faintly in the next room, "I know it's strange to bring a random kid into the house, but I couldn't just leave her out there." It sounded like Mitsuki.
"And I have nothing against it. Hey maybe this could be a good example to Katsuki, seeing has he still got that ego problem."
A scoff was heard, "Yeah like one act of kindness is going to turn that brat around. He set on being 'number one' and we both know what he's like when he's dead set on something."
Masaru made a defeated laugh, "Ha ha, that is true."
Frisk tuned them out when a rhythmic thumping reached her left ear. Turning her head she noticed a set of stairs at the far end of the living room just down a hallway. The thumping continued until a teen walked out of the stair way with a note book. His eyes were focused on whatever was on it as he didn't take notice of Frisk's presence.
The teen was about as tall as Masaru sporting an athletic frame. His ash blond hair was a mess and sticking in randomly determined angles. His eyes were also red much like Mitsuki's.
He was wearing a simple black tank top that exposed the lean muscles in his arms and a pair of green shorts reaching to his knees.
One thing that Chara noted was how aggressive he looked. His eyes were like that of a predator's and the way he seemed to carry himself displayed a practiced control. The only other person either of them ever saw like this was Undyne.
Yet despite everything about him, one part of his being was what demanded both Frisk's and Chara's attention. The teen's SOUL burned brightly with DETERMINATION.
Whoever he was, he could rival Chara or Frisk.
It was about halfway through the room, by the entrance to the kitchen, until he looked up from the notebook in his hand. His eyes scanned the room, likely looking for either Mitsuki or Masaru, until they finally fell to Frisk's own closed eyes.
The two stared in silence. The teen's confused expression facing off with Frisk's impassive gaze before…
"Who the fuck are you?"
Right at that same time Mitsuki just so happened to walk into the room. The results were as follows:
*SMACK*"Watch your fucking mouth when guests are here brat!"
"Screw you, you old hag! Who the hell is that?!"
"I SAID WATCH YOUR MOUTH!"
By this point the teen was in a headlock as Mitsuki yelled into his ear. Identical looks of rage were present on both their faces.
Masaru walked in behind the two carrying a tray of snacks and a couple of soda bottles. He sat next to the confused Frisk and set the tray down and held a soda to Frisk. "Ramune?" he offered.

It was uncommon knowledge that Sir Nighteye feared the power behind his Quirk. The ability to see into the future was a powerful and dangerous tool for any one man to wield and he shouldered that burden alone. So in the sparing times he would activate his power, he did so with fear in his heart.
The resent actions of an unknown group in the criminal underworld had forced his hand to try and decipher their motives.
So it was here he sat in the main office of his hero agency did he peer into the twisting veil that was the future.
For the time he received various visions of events that had yet to be, when something went wrong.
His sight was suddenly ripped away from the vision he was inspecting and replaced by something horrifying.
He witnessed a number of people get brutally murdered by a swinging from, spilling blood across the ground like some kind of macabre paint. One figure threw forward some kind of rope around its neck in an attempt to stop the entity wielding a kitchen knife only for the entity to grab and pull the figure forward to be stabbed on the back.
Another figure raised a gun at the entity and let loose a volley of bullets. The bullets curved and homed in to their target only for it to impossibly dodge the projectiles and deflect one right back at the figure, striking their leg. The entity then rushed far ahead to the fallen figure and sliced their throat out with one horizontal swipe.
A third figure jumped into the fight with a crash and immediately shot toward the entity, only this time they stopped suddenly and crashed to the ground painfully. Slowly the figure was revealed to be All Might stuck into a kneeling position by some kind of blue force. His face was one of rage, pain, and…sorrow as he looked to the entity slowly walking toward him, brandishing their knife.
The entity grabbed the Number One Hero's face with a small child like hand and forced him to look at it.
What Sir Nighteye saw was two ruby red eyes and a small, terrifying smile before the knife was stabbed into his face and he was ejected from his vision.
The hero was panting as sweat poured down his body. His hand inspected his face as he made sure there wasn't any damage and slowly he began to regain control of his body and attempted to calm his racing heart.
His mind could not comprehend what he had just witnessed.
His hands shook as he reached for a phone.
He needed to make a very important call.
