Oh, hey, I made another AU from episode 37. This is gonna be a near-complete rewrite of ARC-V, in case the name didn't give it away. As for why I'm starting here again, it's because I like the first 36 episodes, and I honestly wouldn't change that much about them. Nothing so large it would merit starting from episode 1 again or anything, that is. Anyways, with that little prelude out of the way, enjoy the fic.

Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V re:Scaled

Chapter 1

The Clashing Dragons

What had gone wrong? Yuto and Yugo just went crazy in the middle of their duel. Yuya had succeeded in calming Yuto down, but Yugo wasn't showing any signs of stopping. If they couldn't stop him, he might seriously injure someone, or worse. He had no choice. He had to do it...

"It's my-" the Synchro duelist began, only to be cut off by a new voice.

"Turn!"

"Intrusion Penalty: 2000 LP."

Recoiling from the shock, Yuya drew a card from his deck, preparing to start his turn.

Turn 7: Yuya Sakaki

Yuto LP/Hand: 1300/2

Yugo LP/Hand: 2600/0

Yuya LP/Hand: 2000/5

"With the Scale 8 Timegazer Magician, and Scale 4 Trump Witch, I set the Pendulum Scale! I Pendulum Summon Odd-Eyes and Stargazer Magician!" Just as Odd-Eyes materialized, though, he felt as though he were being ripped in half. He couldn't... he just couldn't lose control like Yugo and Yuto had done. "I activate Trump Witch's Pendulum Effect! I Fusion Summon using monsters I control as the materials! I fuse Odd-Eyes and Stargazer! Wielder of mysterious powers, become the bright light and dwell in the eyes of the dragon! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Arcane dragon, the wielder of ancient magic! Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"

Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon

DARK

Level 7

1 "Pendulum Dragon" monster + 1 Spellcaster-Type monster

ATK: 3000

DEF: 2500

[ Dragon / Fusion / Effect]

Apply the appropriate effect, depending on the original Level of the Spellcaster-Type monster you control used as Fusion Material.

Level 4 or lower: This card can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase.

Level 5 or 6: This card can make up to 3 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase.

Level 7 or higher: This card can make up to 5 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase.

"Rune-Eyes attacks Clear Wing! Eternity Spiral Burst!"

Yugo LP: 2600 – 500 = 2100

In an instant, the light emanating from his eyes faded as Clear Wing was sent to the Graveyard. "What...? What happened? Where's Clear Wing? Last thing I remember, I was... Hey! Why did you join in?! Stay out of this! It's none of your business!" he shouted at the green-haired boy.

Ignoring him, Yuya proceeded to end set a card and end his turn.

Turn 8: Yugo

Yuto LP/Hand: 1300/2

Yugo LP/Hand: 2100/0

Yuya LP/Hand: 2000/1

"Thanks to that guy, this is gonna have to be a good one if I want to beat him. Draw!"

'Speedroid Razorang?! That would've been helpful if Clear Wing was still here! I could've won! But now... Sorry, Rin. I failed..."

"I set a monster. Turn end."

Turn 9: Yuto

Yuto LP/Hand: 1300/2

Yugo LP/Hand: 2100/0

Yuya LP/Hand: 2000/1

"I draw! I set two cards face-down. Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon attacks your face-down monster!"

"Yuto, wait!" Yuya screamed, fearful that the two of them were going to go berserk again.

"Yuya... I know how you feel, but if he really is the one who took Ruri, I'm not going to give him another chance to win. If you get in my way, I'll have to take you down, too," he warned. "My turn is over."

'They really are going to fight like this until... Yuto seems intent on finishing Yugo off, and, if he can't summon a monster next turn, he's done for. That means that there's only one thing I can do.'

Turn 10: Yuya

Yuto LP/Hand: 1300/1

Yugo LP/Hand: 2100/0

Yuya LP/Hand: 2000/1

"..." He was silent, unmoving.

"Yuya? What's wrong?" Yuto asked.

"I surrender."

"What?"

"You heard what I said. I surrender, Yuto. There's no point in the three of us fighting like this. You said that Yugo took something from you, and he said that you took something from him. But maybe neither of you are right," he explained.

"What are you implying?" the other boy asked, gaze sharpened.

"Think about it. I'm from Standard, you're from Xyz, and he's from Synchro, but we all look exactly the same. Who's to say there isn't someone else from that Fusion Dimension you were talking about that looks like us that did all of this?"

"Even if that's the case, I can't let him live. He's an ally of Fusion, so I won't show any mercy. I already told you that if you stand in between us, you're my enemy as well. The only reason I didn't take you out the first time is because you're one of Yuzu's friends. Stand down or else. This is your last warning, Yuya."

"Yuto..."

"Hey! You!" The Synchro duelist cried.

"What do you want?" Yuto glared.

"We'll call it a draw this time, but this isn't over! Even if you didn't take Rin, we still have a score to settle!" Before Yuto could reply, however, the engine of Yugo's D-Wheel roared to life, and he was gone. He was about to give chase, until a hand on his shoulder stopped him.

"Yuto... Just let him go. It's not worth it."

"Hmph. Just remember that if you get in my way again, you're my enemy, too," he stated, walking away.

"Yuto... the three of us don't need to be enemies," Yuya muttered, downtrodden.

After he drove away from the park, a green light had enveloped Yugo, returning him to Synchro. His eyes opened to a run-down section of the City. Starting down the road, he closed his eyes once again and felt the wind blowing against his face. He didn't need to see to find his way back to the orphanage. He'd ridden this route hundreds of times, after all. Pulling into the yard, a few of the children came up to him as he took his helmet off.

"Did you find Big Sis Rin this time?" One of them asked him.

"Not yet, but I'm getting close. So, don't worry about it. She'll be back in no time," he smiled. He hated to have to lie to the kids like this, but he couldn't just tell them that he hadn't made any progress since he started searching. It could dash their hopes entirely, and if he did that, he wasn't sure if he'd be able to live with himself.

One person knew the truth, though. An older teen with raven-colored hair standing in the doorway, staring at him. Yugo knew that face well. He hated it when the other looked at him that way, both understanding and disappointment painted on his features.

"I just can't win with you, can I?"

"I can't convince you not to go, can I? Even knowing how the Professor is going to take the news..." A tall, muscled man asked the young girl in front of him.

"No, you can't. Now, are you coming with me, Barret?"

"I'm coming with you, but I have something to say first."

"What?" she asked, irate.

"You shouldn't waste your life trying to prove yourself to a dead man," he advised the other.

"He's not dead! He can't be..."

"Selena, I know that you don't want to believe it, but the Arc Area Project began a year ago, and he's still missing. Just let it go."

"... Let's just leave."

Their departure didn't go without interruption, as they were accosted by Yuri, the Professor's right-hand man, at the docks.

"What's this? The cat's out of her cage, I see," he mocked, grinning from ear to ear.

"Don't try to stop me. I'm not in a particularly good mood right now," Selena hissed.

"Oh, is that what you thought I was doing? I was just taking a stroll around the harbor. I won't stop you. I just have a bit of advice," he laughed. Leaning in, he put his mouth to her ear. "War changes people. The person you're looking for might not be the one you find. Even the man that fought the Kaiser isn't invincible."

"How did... Did you see him?! I have to know!" She cried, panic in her eyes.

"That's for you to figure out. Have fun," he smirked, disappearing in a violet light.

"I..."

"Why did you bring me here, Shun?" Yuto asked his comrade. They were currently in the hallways of the Leo Corporation's main building, and the older man seemed to be leading him somewhere.

"There's someone that wants to meet you. He says it's important. I still don't trust him, but I don't really have a choice, given how things are now," Stepping onto a platform, he motioned for the younger to follow him. The platform began to rise once they were both on it, and, as it reached its destination, the room was bathed in the green light of monitors, as a man sat at the center of them.

"Pleased to meet you, Yuto. My name is Reiji Akaba. Please, make yourself comfortable. There are things we need to discuss."
