Author note: alright I'm sure this idea has been done already, but I figured I'd give it my own version on how it went. I hope you like it.

That final blow that would ultimately take two fighters down to one against the androids. It happened so fast, yet so slow at the same time. Rain was falling from the sky at a quick pace and once the androids finished with Gohan, they left satisfied.

As they flew, they stayed silent. It was only a matter of time before the purple haired boy would locate his mentor. As much as 18 wanted to stay behind and watch, her brother had grown bored and wanted to move on. She knew though. It would be soon when they took care of the other one.

Soon.

Soon.

Soon

"Gohan!" Eyes popped wide open as the older hybrid jolted awake. Getting to his feet quickly, he was ready for battle. His vision cleared fully to a confused looking Bulma standing at the guest room door at his response. Sheepishly, he relaxed and rubbed the back of his head.

"Sorry, Bulma. I guess I had a bad dream?" He offered in explanation. Her gaze softened.

"It's okay. I just wanted to come in and tell you that breakfast is ready."

"Thank you, Bulma." Gohan said gratefully. He stretched a bit after she left and changed into his normal orange Gi that he had been donning throughout his training with Trunks. Once he was ready, he made it to the table and sat across Trunks. Both were already talking about training some more before they heard a clash from the sink.

Both looked over in confusion at Bulma with tears brimming in her eyes. "Can we not discuss fighting in this household for two seconds? I think we have something else to talk about." She collapsed into one of the chairs while glaring at the two boys for a moment. "I think we should discuss travel plans," she said more cheerfully before her eyes widened at the sight of feet in the air.

"Not those kinds, you dweebs!"

"Sorry, Mom," Trunks offered as he fixed himself to an upright position, Gohan doing the same.

"So what do you mean by that, Bulma?" Gohan questioned after they were settled down.

"The time machine, duh. Two seater too so you both can go," Bulma announced.

Trunks grew excited very quickly and started chatting with his mother, but Gohan stayed quiet. It wasn't that he wasn't excited, but…

"I'm not going," Gohan announced sternly, silencing the room. Bulma and Trunks both looked at the older hybrid in shock. "Think about it, guys. If Trunks and I both go, who's going to be here to defend you and Mom from the androids? It makes sense for me to stay."

Silence followed for a moment before Bulma stood up calmly. "I think you both should go. Let's bring Chi-Chi into this conversation." She walked out without waiting for another word on the subject and called Chi-Chi.

Returning to the table, Bulma sat down calmly with a knowing smirk on her face. It wasn't long before the front door opened and there stood an older woman with her black hair pulled up in a tight bun…though it wasn't as tight as it used to be. Chi-Chi, Gohan's mother, walked with confidence to the table, her eyebrows furrowed. "Now Gohan, why don't you want to go back and see Goku or…or…Piccolo? Warn them about the androids? Bulma and I will be fine. Besides, they've never come around here. If they do, we know how to sneak away. We've done it before."

Gohan was silent for a moment, refusing to make eye contact. He didn't want anyone else killed by these androids! Couldn't they see that? Abruptly, he stood. "I need a minute," he forced out before he took off, ignoring the three people calling his name.

Trunks started panicking to leave, but one hand stopped him. Looking up at Chi-Chi, she offered him a pat. "I know where he's going. He's going to talk to Piccolo."

Bulma made a sound of confusion. "Huh? How can he talk to Piccolo?"

A sad chuckle came out of the other woman's lips. "I mean he's going to the waterfall. He feels closest to him there. Give him some time. He'll be back."

It didn't take long for Gohan to land in front of the waterfall. He stared at the spot he used to see the cape flowing for a long time. "I don't know about this, Piccolo," He muttered before sitting in a lotus position and closing his eyes. From there, he let everything out about how Bulma made a time machine and was expecting both him and Trunks to make the travel.

"What happens if we're gone and something happens?" He questioned. Gohan wasn't expecting an answer, and none came. The only sound coming through his ears was the sound of the water. He sighed before getting back up again.

"I wish you were here to tell me what to do, Piccolo." As if on cue, a crow landed close by and started cawing, but to Gohan, it sounded like he was saying, Go. Looking up at the sky in confusion, his confusion turned into determination. "Right. Thank you, Piccolo." Then he turned, and flew back home.

Opening the door, Chi-Chi already guessed what he was about to say. "Alright. Let's get planning."

Will the travel to the past be smooth sailing? And will the Z fighters recognize Gohan when they get there? Will Bulma and Chi-Chi really be okay without either of them there? Find out next time on….
