Prologue - The Dream World
The first Dream.
Bell Cranel is a 4-year-old boy who loves the stories of heroes that his grandfather tells him every time he goes to sleep. He lives with his grandfather in a small village located in an area with few people. He also loves to play with the few children in the village, and the people are very fond of the boy.
Today was not much different than usual, his grandfather told him a story before he went to bed.
"So, what did you think, Bell?" His grandfather asked as soon as he finished reading the story to his grandson.
The man was large and had white hair and beard.
"Amazing as always!" The boy replied in a very excited tone. "The way the hero defeated that big dragon was amazing! He also managed to get the princess in the end!"
"Not only that boy! He didn't just end up with the princess, but also with her two friends!" This time it was his grandfather who replied in an animated tone. "So don't forget, kid. If you want to become a great hero, you must aim for the amazing HAREM!"
Bell's grandfather is a great pervert. The older people in the village did everything so that his influence would not be passed on to Bell. The boy is still very young, it is easy to become corrupted early in life. Once, Bell's grandfather brought him to spy on the older girls who were considered the beauties of the village as they bathed in a spring that was located in the forest near the village.
Needless to say, they found out and beat up Bell's grandfather. The boy just looked confused at the whole thing, but didn't care much.
"Do all heroes have this thing called a harem?" The boy asked innocently.
He remembered some of the stories his grandfather told him, but there were some that the hero ended up with just one girl. Most, of course, ended in the thing called a harem, which apparently is when the hero ends up dating several different girls.
"Of course! Those who end up with only one girl can't call themselves real heroes! Only those who take advantage of the beauties of several women can be considered a true hero!" He replied. "Of course, you have to treat all your girls with great respect, and under no circumstances provoke their anger." He replied with a rather serious look in the last part.
"Right!" The boy replied cheerfully.
"And don't forget," he began, "if you actually enjoy the harem, you have to love all your women equally. There's no such thing as a favorite girl, they all deserve the same love, understand?"
"Yes."
His grandfather approached him, placing his hand on his shoulder, he spoke one last thing.
"And also, there are three women in particular. They are known as the three virgin Goddesses, Artemis, the Goddess of the Moon; Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, and last and not least, Hestia, the Goddess of Fire. If you get any of them, you can already consider yourself a god, kid."
"I can become a god...?" The boy, of course, did not fully understand his grandfather. "Wait, what does the word virgin mean?" He asked innocently.
At that moment, his grandfather began to sweat for some reason. He cursed himself for his slip. If that crazy woman heard the boy speak those words, then he was sure to go to Genkai sooner than expected. He had to do something quickly or his life would be in danger.
"Nothing really, you will learn when you are older, another hero thing, so don't ask any more, got it!?"
Bell noticed his grandfather's nervous tone, but he just nodded and said nothing more. Just as his grandfather said, he will learn everything eventually, so there is no need to be in a hurry.
"Okay, get ready for bed."
After packing up a few things and putting away the book he read to Bell, he turned off the lights and got ready to go somewhere. Before he left, he heard his grandson's voice.
"Good night, Grandpa."
"Good night, Bell."
With that he left the room and left Bell alone.
The boy began to get ready for bed. It had been two years since they had this daily routine of his grandfather telling him a story before he went to sleep. He began to remember all the stories his grandfather had told him until today. There were many stories, and he remembers them all perfectly.
"It would be nice if I could become a hero like those people...it would be amazing to meet the people from the stories grandpa mentioned."
With those last words, the boy fell asleep without noticing the small white glow that enveloped him.
...
...
...
...
The Dream.
"Huh?"
Bell looked around him and could only utter that.
The boy was very confused. He remembers going to sleep, and suddenly found himself in this forest in the middle of nowhere. Realizing that he was holding something, he looked at his hand, only to see a strange little black knife.
Normally he would be scared, but for some strange reason, he was completely calm. Too calm if you ask me. Looking at the surroundings for a while longer, he noticed that the trees were incredibly beautiful, much more beautiful than the ones he saw around the village he lives in.
"...Is this a dream?"
It was the only one the boy thought of. He was sure that he would die of fright if he found himself alone in a strange forest, but he was very calm. The only explanation was that this was all a strange dream. It was the first time he had dreamed in this way.
Building up some courage, he began to walk slowly around the place. He was totally impressed by the beauty of the place, the things he saw were something he had never seen in the real world, which gave more credence to this being a dream. In fact, some of the flowers and trees he saw... he could swear that some of these things were familiar.
More precisely, he remembers the description of them in some stories he heard from his grandfather.
Is this a coincidence?
"Help!"
He had no time to think when he heard a girl's scream coming from a part of the forest. He looked in the direction from where he heard the scream while unconsciously squeezing the handle of the knife that was in his right hand. Again, normally he would be frightened, but this time.
He ran to the direction of the voice at a speed he never thought he would be able to run. Ever since he entered this "Dream", he feels different. He could explain the feeling in a way that he could understand, but it was a feeling... very good.
It didn't take long before he saw the one responsible for the scream.
A dark skinned elf girl who looked a little older than him, she was leaning against a big beautiful tree with purple leaves. The sun was very strong in this area. The girl was frightened.
Looking ahead, he realized what was frightening her.
A few meters away, a green humanoid species was visible. Bell knew what it was, a Goblin. A fat green humanoid monster with big eyes, he is also considered the weakest monster you can find inside the Dungeon of Orario City.
When he saw the Goblin approaching the girl, Bell froze for a few seconds before pulling himself together. This was all a dream... in that case, he could do it, right?
Squeezing the handle of the knife that was in his right hand, Bell took a deep breath as he let out a scream with all his voice.
"Hey, ugly creature!"
Both the monster and the girl looked in his direction. The girl fixed her purple eyes on the boy with white hair and ruby red eyes. She was initially surprised by his arrival, but then she was startled seeing how the Goblin started walking toward him.
The Goblin let out a roar in the boy's direction. It was as if he had really been offended by the boy. Not long after, the monster ran towards him with another roar, its claws ready to kill the foolish boy who appeared.
"Look out!" The girl's frightened voice shouted.
Bell braced himself. The Goblin is taller than he is, and the monster's claws look a little sharp.
Any boy his age would probably be frightened by this. Even though it is considered the weakest monster there is, it is totally different when it is an older adventurer who is facing the creature. Bell is just a boy and the monster is taller than he is.
However...
Bell dodged the monster with some difficulty as he jumped to the side. The monster made another lunge to which he acted in the same way, only this time, before he jumped out of the Goblin's area, he struck a blow with his knife, trying to do some damage to the monster.
"...Nothing?" He hadn't managed to cause any damage to the Goblin.
That blow only seemed to irritate the Goblin even more, causing the monster to run towards the white haired boy again. Bell had almost no time to react as he moved his head to the side, narrowly avoiding the Goblin's claws. However, it didn't stop there, the Goblin began to attack in every possible way.
Bell was having a very hard time dodging the Goblin's claws, he wasn't having time to try to attack the monster with his knife. This continued for a while when the Goblin managed to inflict some damage on the white haired boy's face, the monster's claws caught scraping his cheek.
Bell managed to pull away from the Goblin a little.
His breathing was very irregular, fresh blood dripping from his cheek that had a small cut. Looking at his hands, he saw that they were shaking non-stop. Anyone seeing this scene would think that the boy was trembling with fear, and this is exactly what the elf who was watching everything thought.
However, she was totally wrong.
Bell had his back to her. If she could see his face, she surely would have noticed. Bell's eyes... are not the eyes of someone who is afraid. In fact, he seemed to be completely excited, so excited that he was shaking non-stop.
This is something that surprised the boy himself. In the real world he is someone rather shy, someone who would be frightened by the slightest noise in a darkness. However, in this place it is completely different.
The only explanation he has for this is that he is dreaming. It was the only thing that made sense to him. Dreams have no explanation, anyone can be whatever they want to be within their own dream.
So, if this is really a dream.
Could he become a hero like in his grandfather's story?
He has even found a girl, an elf, and since he has heard the stories his grandfather tells him, he has always preferred elven women. Although he finds her dark skin tone strange. He doesn't remember any descriptions of dark-skinned elves, but that doesn't matter here.
It would still be a long time before he went to Orario to become an adventurer.
Then...
He braced himself as he looked at the Goblin roaring at him. The Goblin was running at him again, however, he was beating the monster as he ran with great speed towards the creature. All the while with great animation present on his face.
I will begin my adventure into this Dream!
...
...
...
Elizabeth Aerin.
A Dark Elf who lived in the forest where the dark elves lived. She is a girl who is only seven years old.
She lived a happy life in her home and was almost ready to begin her training with magic. However, all this was discarded when the tribe of demons found the place where they lived. Chaos ensued and a great bloody and cruel war was waged between them.
The demons won because of the great superior numbers they had. The dark elves were quite rare, there should probably be only 3 to 5 forests where they live. And of these forests, where Elizabeth came from turned to ashes. She was the only one who managed to escape with the help of her parents.
She wandered alone for a week, drinking water from rivers and eating fruit she found on the way. She was lucky that she didn't meet any monsters on the way, until today.
She was wandering in the forest in search of something to eat when she met the Goblin. She was not aware that this monster was weak, after all, the lessons about monsters started at the same time she was going to learn magic. Before that, the most common thing that was talked about was the "Great Monsters" that escaped from the older elves from time to time.
An example of these Great Monsters would be Dragons.
But even if they were a weak monster, she would not be able to fight such a creature without preparation.
Although she doubted that anyone would show up, she still cried out for help, a cry that echoed through most of the forest. Just as the Goblin was closing in on her and she thought it would be the end of her, someone appeared.
A boy with hair as white as hers and eyes as red as ruby. He was clearly younger than her, a human with a knife in his hand.
But still, that boy, someone from the weakest intelligent race, a human, was facing that monster to save her. When she saw the boy trembling after he received damage from the Goblin, she thought he was very scared, and even if she was the same, she built up courage to help the boy who came to rescue her.
She didn't know how she would help, but she had to do something. However, she saw the boy run without hesitation to the Goblin, causing her to mutter in surprise. Why would he go after the monster!
She was too surprised to do anything but stare at the scene in front of her.
The boy avoided all the blows that the Goblin sent his way with more ease than before. The boy was doing everything possible to do damage to the Goblin, even kicking it when possible, although the damage was almost nonexistent, it was still able to stun the Goblin for a few seconds, and he used this opening window to attack with his knife.
He managed to pierce one of the Goblin's eyes (taking advantage that the monster ducked a little, making it possible for him to reach the Goblin's eyes) causing the monster to scream in pain while kicking Bell away. The Goblin was trying to stop the blood from coming out, although it was a futile attempt. Goblins were not extremely intelligent creatures, but they behave better when they are in a group, and this one, lucky for both children, is alone.
The elf girl didn't know if she was hallucinating, but she swore she saw a white glow appear on the white-haired boy's body.
Taking advantage of the Goblin's daze, the boy ran up to the monster, wanting to end the fight as quickly as possible.
The Goblin noticed the boy coming towards him at great speed, but his vision was impaired in one eye, and the pain was too great. The Goblin stared at the strange black knife the human child was using, for a short time the monster saw a purple glow coming from that knife, which completely disappeared seconds later as if it didn't exist.
The pain was unbearable even for a monster, the Goblin couldn't remove one of his hands from his eye, being careful that his claws didn't make the damage worse. As soon as the boy got in front of the Goblin, hand-to-hand combat ensued.
With only one hand while using the other on the injured eye, the Goblin tried to attack the human child in every way with his claw. The boy managed to dodge the Goblin's blows with ease, the monster was much slower than when they first started, so it was easy to inflict damage on the Goblin.
Dodging the Goblin's claws, the boy used his free hand to strike the monster's belly with all the force he could muster. And as he expected, he couldn't inflict much damage on the monster, but that wasn't the boy's goal. The sudden blow made the Goblin lose a little balance. That was enough for the boy.
He took advantage of the opportunity, sticking the knife into the Goblin's only functional eye, which caused the monster to roar again. The Goblin began to attack irrationally from all sides with its claws, hoping to hit the boy in the process, but it was all useless. The only thing the Goblin felt was a blade at its throat, and then everything went even darker.
The monster's body fell suddenly to the ground.
The Goblin took its last breath.
"Haa..."
The boy began to breathe heavily before falling flat on his butt on the ground. He calmed his trembling hands as he looked at the body of the first monster he had killed. It didn't matter if it was just a dream, this was something he hoped he would never forget. This was his first adventure.
"...Are you okay?"
Blinking at the suddenness of her voice, the boy looked back to find the same white-haired, purple-eyed elf he had saved.
"Yes," he replied.
Wait a moment. He saved her, isn't he the one who has to ask if she's okay?
"What about you?"
"I'm fine... thanks to your help."
"Glad to hear it!" The boy replied cheerfully as he stood up. He looked down at his knife before turning his eyes to the elf girl again. "I am Bell Cranel, it is a pleasure to meet a beautiful girl like you!"
"Always remember to compliment girls when you first see them, Bell. Or when you save them in some way." He could remember those words his grandfather had said to him. It was only a week ago that he had said them.
The elf girl was surprised by this. Moments later, she was quite embarrassed, struggling to say anything. After two minutes of trying to speak, she finally managed to introduce herself.
"I-I am Elizabeth Aerin. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Bell stared at her, making the girl more embarrassed than she already was. He noticed her white hair that was quite similar to his. The only difference was the tone of the color, his was brighter, while hers was a darker white. He also looked at her elfin ears.
"Elves are among the most beautiful women you will see in the future!" Again, his grandfather's words.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Elizabeth!" he replied with a shout, startling her a little. "Excuse me for asking something that will probably be obvious, but you are an elf, right? My grandfather used to tell me various things about elves and also the stories he told me always had one or the other, but he never described an elf girl with dark skin before."
The only description of girls with dark skin that he has heard from his grandfather are the Amazons.
When Bell asked this question, he noticed the girl getting a strange expression.
"It's okay if you don't want to say anything, I'm sorry if I asked something stupid," he added.
"No," she shook her head. "It's not that-just bad memories. I'm a Dark Elf."
"Dark Elf?"
"Yes. It makes sense that you haven't heard about us, I guess. We're considered pretty rare, we live in hidden forests..."
Ah, so that's it.
"Why are you here? I mean, aren't your parents worried about you walking through this forest alone?" Well, that was his dream.
As soon as he said that, the girl started to cry.
"E-Eh!?" Bell was surprised by this. "I'm sorry if I said something I shouldn't have, please don't cry!" He moved closer and put his hands on her shoulder.
At this moment, he remembered what his grandfather had told him about elves in general. They don't like to be touched by other people, so dark elves must be the same. He was about to apologize when the girl hugged him tightly and began to cry even harder.
Bell didn't know what was going on, but he thought this was his fault. It was strange that a girl taller than him was hugging him like that, but he didn't try to push her away. Again, he thought it was his fault for saying something he shouldn't have, so he just stayed quiet until the girl calmed down.
She cried for about 10 minutes before she calmed down.
When she calmed down, Bell and she sat down on the floor.
"It was something I said, right? I'm sorry-"
"No," she interrupted before she began to tell her story. "... I used to live in the Karienite forest with my parents and my older brother. Our life... it wasn't extravagant or anything like that..." There were several pauses as she sobbed. "But suddenly, everything changed when the tribe of demons found our forest."
"Demon tribe?" Bell said confused.
He quickly remembered something similar in one of the stories his grandfather told him. In the story they also had this tribe of demons and they were one of the main villains in the story.
"S-yes. They... are a race that live for a long time like the elves, but... they are very cruel. Most of them only care about wars and stuff like that... Because of them... my house is now a forest of ashes... It was thanks to my parents that I was able to narrowly escape."
Since she started telling her story to him, she was crying.
Bell understood her situation. Everyone in her family was dead.
He couldn't get the little doubt out of his mind saying that this was all familiar to him, but this was no time to think about it.
Bell got up from the floor as he stood in front of her. The girl just looked at him confused, the small tears falling from her eyes. He raised his hand to her and began to speak.
"If that is the case, you have nowhere to go right?" With a silent nod from her, he spoke again. "In that case, how would you like to come with me?"
"Huh?"
The girl just looked at him with confusion.
"You know... I'm kind of alone here too."
"Your parents too...?"
"I never knew my parents," he replied. "I lived with my grandfather until... I decided to make it on my own," was a totally idiotic excuse, but he didn't know what to say.
He couldn't say this was all a dream after all.
"Decide to do it all yourself...?" She repeated tilting her head.
"Yes!" He replied in a more animated manner. "You see, my grandfather always told me stories of heroes, and I have come to admire them ever since. Because of those stories I decided that I want to become a hero, so it's good to start right away, right?"
"Hero...?"
"Yes, a hero. So, what do you say?" he was still holding his hand up to her.
"...I won't get in the way?"
"Of course not."
"I'm not strong."
"Neither am I, so we can train together until we become strong."
The girl again saw the white glow covering the boy, and all of this coupled with the brightness of the sun only made his image more majestic than it initially seemed.
With trembling hands, the girl took his hand and he lifted it.
At that moment, she swore to him, the person who had saved her.
She would become stronger and follow him.
That was the beginning of a great empire that Bell would build over the years he would dream.
He would become a Great Hero to the people.
The beginning of the Legend of a King.
Well, another idea I had, let me know what you think.
My idea here is to put characters from several different anime with a story to fit into this story of mine. There are also characters that I created myself, although they are few compared to the ones that already exist. Don't expect all the characters to act like they are in their stories (although there may be some that actually are like their canonical selves) most will be adapted differently to fit this story.
The story will be a harem, as is kind of obvious.
Tell me if you want any characters from other anime in this story, or even an OC. It can be either male or female. Don't think that just because it will be a harem that it only has to be girls. I plan to put some male characters that are important to the plot as well.
About Bell's Dream. Well, let's say it's a big mix of all the stories your grandfather has told you so far, characters and other things. For example, Elizabeth was in one of these stories, more details should appear in the future, not only about her, but about the others that will appear.
The next chapter will begin with Bell already in Orario, probably starting with the Minotaur event.
Give me ideas on how you think I should do this. The main idea is to make Bell's "Kingdom" appear in a location a bit far from Orario, along with other things.
There will be several races in this story, for example Dragonoid and also tamed elemental Dragons (If you have played Dragon City, it will be somewhat similar).
I am currently in exam periods at school. So I won't have much time to write.
Next update - The Perfect Human in a Fantasy World. (After probably sending another chapter of this story.)
Well, that's it.
