So, at this point this concept has been done twice, to my knowledge, first by Some Random Shitty Rambler and then by Uit het hart. They latter of which posted theirs the day I am writing this, and also made me finally get the momentum to actually wright this. I had wanted to do something similar since All the Difference in the Worlds came out. Now naturally I will try my best to keep my "version" so to speak different to both stories as possible, but I warn you, I will have some of the same games used as Some Random Shitty Rambler as a most of what was covered where games I myself played and loved. And I encourage all who read this to read All the Difference in the Worlds and The Inextinguishable Soul as they will more likely than not be better and have a more consistent upload schedule, in the case of the latter. Also my other stories might take a spot on the back burner as Arc of Fortune is giving me trouble, my own lack of knowledge is really holding me back in that regards, and my Phantom Menace reaction is giving me more trouble than I expected, and my own inability to focus on one thing at a time is really biting me in the ass.
Vale was burning.
Beacon was burning.
And is was not by the machinations of humanity's oldest and greatest enemy, the Grimm. No, it was by humanity itself that the shining light of Beacon fell. Vale, the city of lights, home to Beacon Academy, was once more a Beacon. But instead of projecting prosperity, peace, and the brotherly love of man, it projected calamity, strife, and man's avarice.
Through the ash choked and terror stricken air, flew a rocket locker, and in this locker resided the "Invincible Girl", funny really, as the invincible girl never felt so helpless. With a thunderous crash, the locker landed somewhere in Vale, and out tumbled Pyrrha Nikos. Crimson locks cascading down her shoulders and back, having come undone from her ponytail, emerald eyes wide and manic, gazed around looking for someone who she knew wasn't their. Pyrrha, not knowing what else to do, called Weiss.
"Pyrrha? Where are you?!" Weiss demanded.
"Weiss! Please you have to stop him!" Pyrrha begged.
"What!?" Weiss yelled.
"Jaune!" Pyrrha sobbed. "He's going after that woman on top of the tower! Please he doesn't stand a chance!"
"Jaune's what? I don't understand? Pyrrha, where are you?" Weiss pleaded.
"Don't worry about me!" Pyrrha yelled, before continuing in a soft sad tone. "Please, save Jaune, please."
"We will." Weiss answered. "Are you okay?"
Weiss would not receive an answer, as with one last flare of repressed emotion, Pyrrha threw her scroll onto the ground, shattering it, before collapsing on her knees, tears streaming down her cheeks. Her sadness is cut short by the unmistakable sound of Grimm, at this sound emerald eyes come alight with righteous vengeance and furious anger. As Pyrrha summons Miló and Akoúo to her side once more, she turns to face the monsters of darkness and charges. The only sounds heard from this section of Vale are the terrified wails of Grimm, and an Arizonians haunting battle cry.
Jaune knew he was outmatched, he knew he was likely to die, he knew he couldn't win. But he had known this since the first day of combat class and he didn't come to win, he came to buy his friends time to evacuate the civilians, and maybe… just maybe find out if the woman in front of him was working alone. That is what led him to his current predicament, namely circling the woman responsible for this hole mess. Cinder Fall circled like a cat playing with her food, she was spotless, not so much as a speck of dirt staining her sequin dress. Jaune on the other hand, was covered in slashes and dried blood, his clothes torn and shredded beyond repair, his breastplate long since turned to scrape metal, his hoodie only covering his shoulders and the left side of his torso, showing the fruits of Pyrrha's labor, the tip of Crocea Mors dragging across the ground as he hadn't the strength to raise it from the ground.
"Come now." Cinder purred in satisfaction. "You must realize by now how foolish your actions are."
"W-why… did… you… do… this?" Jaune panted out.
"Why?" Cinder smirked. "Because I can, because I had the strength to do so, and because your Headmaster had something that was rightfully mine!"
"Your… team… where they… apart… of this… as well?" Jaune panted.
"Of course they were." Cinder laughed. "Everything that has happened has done so because I willed it, Emerald and Mercury befriending your little group, the blonde bimbo and the oh, so perfect 'Invincible Girl's' little mishaps in the ring, it all happened because I, Cinder Fall, ordained it to happen."
It was at this moment that Cinder notices a scroll propped up in some nearby rubble, a shinning red light indicating that the scroll was recording.
"Clever boy." Cinder smirked, mildly impressed. "You've impressed me, so, I'll let you live if you prostrate yourself at my feet and proclaim your undying loyalty to me."
Jaune levels a stony glare at her and using the last of his strengths to lift Crocea Mors, and point it at Cinder.
"No?" Cinder asked, seeming genuinely disappointed. "Shame, I had the perfect little sailor boy outfit picked out and everything… oh well, come let's end this, I'll even let you have a free shot."
With her piece said, Cinder gives Jaune a come hither motion with her finger. With his signal given, Jaune charges Cinder, with predictable results. Cinder effortlessly catching the blade of Crocea Mors, using her Maiden powers to super heat and break the blade, before kneeing Jaune in the stomach and slapping him across the ruins of Ozpin's office. Jaune gasps like a fish out of water as all the air in his lungs was violently torn from him, he drags himself to his knees just in time to see Cinder casually sashaying towards him. Jaune would have blushed from the movement had it not been for the burning hatred he felt for her.
"Any last words, 'Little Knight'?" Cinder asked cradling Jaune's chin in her palm.
"Nigh… Nigh…" Jaune wheezed with the last bit of air in his lungs.
"What was that, Little Knight?" Cinder asked in a sickly sweet voice, as if one was talking to a particularly slow child. "Speak up now, or else I might not hear you."
"Knight… Knight takes Queen." Jaune roared as he stabbed the broken blade of Crocea Mors up into her chest.
As Cinder fell from the shock of Jaune final hurrah, Ruby makes her entrance onto the tower. Seeing this Jaune smiles, then stands, as he's walking over to Ruby, Jaune lifts his right hand, still holding the remains of Crocea Mors.
"Ruby! Just in ti…" Jaune said before he felt an agonizing pain in his chest.
Looking down, Jaune sees half of an obsidian black glass sword sticking out of his chest. He goes to grasp it, but it's violently pulled out for him. Jaune looks back to a horrified Ruby with a look of terror and confusion. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Cinder walking around him before stopping in front of him. He looks up to see a crazed looking Cinder holding her left side.
"Bravo… Little… nigh… Knight… you managed to wound me." Cinder grunted. "This… has been… a lesson in…. Overconfidence, I will not make the same mistake."
"NOOOOOOOOOO." Ruby screamed.
With Ruby's despair laden scream filling the silence of Jaune's execution, he can do nothing but stare up at his executioner. And so a crazed Cinder Fall is the last thing Jaune sees, before everything turns white.
I was going to have the first universe Jaune finds himself in this chapter as well, but it was getting to be to long, as I find myself incapable of picking short things to write about, or things I myself have personal knowledge in. Any who, please feel free to criticize this all you like, and maybe suggest a show or video game you all wish to see, as it will help me from just using the ones used by Some Random Shitty Rambler and Uit het hart.
This is Bmwoodstock signing off.
