Am I Addicted?

(It's Thursday night, at 8:30. Janet and her friends Emma, Aaron, and Peter
are all sitting in Janet's room just hanging out. Janet is flipping out and
trembling)
Peter: Geez, what the hell is the matter with her?
Emma: Oh, she does this every week about this time. She's in Cupidland.
Peter: Huh?
Aaron: She's got a new obsession. A new tv show to dream about.
Janet: (dreamily) I think I'm addicted, do you think I'm addicted? Do
ya? Huh?
Aaron: (sarcastically) Oh, why, because you wouldn't go out to the clubs with
us on Saturday nights before they switched the show to Thursdays? No, you're
not addicted, why'd you ask?
Peter: (finally putting two and two together) So, that's why she wouldn't go
out on Saturdays? I thought she was sick or something.
Aaron: (nods mock sadly) Addiction is a disease you know.
Emma: Hey, leave her alone. I happen to watch Cupid too, of course I haven't
promised to name my children 'Claire' and 'Trevor', so I guess I'm not as
obsessed as Janet is but...
Janet: I have a right to be this obsessed. I mean, by the gods, he's so cute.
(dreamily looks over to a couple of Cupid pictures she has hanging on her
wall)
Aaron: Of course, but Janet, hate to burst your bubble but (slowly, getting
his point across) he's not real.
Janet: (looking at him strangely) What do you mean? Of course he's real.
(laughs) Why wouldn't he be real?
Aaron: (sighs) She's as deluded as Trevor.
Emma: (laughs) So, you do watch the show, huh?
Aaron: Maybe, kinda. So what?
Emma: Time to come out of the closet Aaron!
Aaron: It's true, it is, I watch Cupid.
Peter: (laughs) Isn't that a romance mushy stuff type show?
Aaron: (defensively) Hey, what would you know anyway. I only watch it for the
humor. Plus I think the psychologist is a babe.
Emma: (looks at Aaron, who is her boyfriend) Really, Aaron? You think she's a
babe? Is she prettier than me?
Aaron: (looks at her and quickly says) No, no, (it's clear that he's lying)
Ok, so she's cute but I'm not the one who has pictures of Trevor Hale pasted
all over her locker.
Janet: (turns on Emma) You have pictures of MY Trevor pasted in your locker!
MY Trevor? MY Cupid is hanging in YOUR locker?
Emma: (looking at Janet innocently) Well, I, uh, well, I only have one picture
of him in it. Kinda..
Aaron: More like the whole locker is covered in pics.
Janet: (jumps at Emma and wraps her hands around her throat) No! I want those
pictures, and I want them now! You can't have them in YOUR locker! I want them
in MY locker!
(Aaron quickly turns on the tv, which miraculously is just being to show
Cupid, right on time. Janet gets off of Emma and sits right in front of the
tv)
Emma: Geez! Talk about obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Aaron: Emma, did you just say a psychologist word?
Emma: I think so, why.
Aaron: My girlfriend is being possessed by Claire.
Emma: (laughs and looks at the tv disappointedly) Oh, it's a rerun.
Peter: Really? So far it's pretty good.
Emma: (triumphantly) Another convert!
Aaron: So I was thinking.
Emma: Really? I thought I heard something.
Aaron: Yeah, well, since we're all Cupid fans now, how about a weekly Cupid
night?
Emma: Could be interesting.
Aaron: What episode is this anyway?
Emma: "First Loves", the one with Lisa Loeb guest starring.
Aaron: At least it's not "A Great Personality", that one was just depressing.
Peter: (Turning around and giving them a look to shut up) Shh! It's getting
good! (turns back to the tv and laughs at one of Trevor's joke)
