More than a nakama, but a treasure woman

(AU) In taking Captain Buggy's treasure. Nami finds a list of treasure locations. But by a conflict with the others. She has to turn to the last result to get her way. Bashing characters. More awareness Luffy. Strawberry love. And other couples. Set before Baratie Arc.

I don't own One Piece (just the story), so of course, don't sue me. The characters, with no surprise, are gonna be OOC. For if they weren't, this would be like regular One Piece, being that some of the fights and events won't be too different, though some will.

Ok, I only have a few words to say. And that is 'On With The Reading!

Chapter 1 – Last result (part 1)

Nami, a slim young woman of average height with short orange hair and whiskey dark color golden brown eyes, dressed in a white and blue stripe shirt, light tan mini-skirt with white rings on each side as a design and dark brown heeled boots. Stormed into the women's room on the caravel known as the Going Merry early that morning.

She was still pacing back and forth, silently ranting inward to herself about the event that happen hours ago up on the deck between her and the three guys occupying the small ship also.

A green short-length haired former pirate hunter, name Roronoa Zorro, a curly black-haired long-nose young man called Usopp and a lanky looking black-haired young man pirate going by Luffy. It's the first of the three guys that caused her troubles earlier that morning.

Back when she took not just all the pirate Captain Buggy's treasure but also the Grand-Line map during Luffy fighting him. There was something else Nami stolen from the clown pirate that she never told neither Luffy or Zorro about. It was a paper that list islands within the East Blue that occupied pirates and with showing the amount each island held of treasure. Not just proved the islands are strongholds for the pirates. But it indicated Buggy had plan on to ransack the pirates' strongholds and steal all their treasure as well probably add some of the pirates to his crew.

So of course, once Nami estimated how much all that treasure together would be she decided to seek out the islands. Especially with all that treasure she finally would had collect enough to buy her village's freedom as well her own from the fish-man pirate, Arlong and his crew who's been not only controlling her entire homeland, Conomi Islands for nearly more than 8 years. But basically force her, at the age of 11, to be 'part' of Arlong's crew because her natural mapping skills.

Though for a second she almost chose to let Luffy and Zorro in on her plan to head for the islands on the list instead toward the Grand-Line, back when they were escaping the citizens that thought they had help Buggy and his crew rampage the town. Nami quickly change her mind at Luffy simply and purposely left a sack of her treasure behind. And despite he did it because the town needed it after what the Buggy Pirates did to them. It didn't change her decision in keeping them out of her plans and knowing of the list. In fact that just reminded her of the two times she's been betrayed in the past and why she can't trust anyone but herself.

That's why when Kaya's butler, Merry begun informing her, Luffy and Zorro of how to run the Going Merry. She made sure he told only her about the ins and outs of the little ship. But she didn't really go that route because neither the two guys -and later Usopp- had a clue how to sail. No she did it so they would have no choice or reason to question her navigation skills despite she attended not to head for the Grand-Line until collecting all the treasures on the list.

Yet to make sure everything goes as plan without fail. Nami tested the island with the less amount of treasure first; the island rumored to be known as 'Legendary Treasure Island'. A place that most assumed was warded off by a god of some sorts. Yet the isolated land turned out to not only didn't have one drop of treasure. But a man stuck in a treasure chest for 20 years was the one scaring off outsiders as well as living there were odd looking animals there. And even though Nami actually would have let the man keep his treasure once retrieved from the top of the mountain -that discovered was empty all along. She consider it a pass to continue on with the plan.

Mostly with both Luffy and Zorro's monster strength would keep any of the pirates on the islands distracted while she freely collects all the treasure.

Thereby, couple days after departing from the said 'Legendary' treasure island Nami decided on the next one as well the most treasure amount on the list. An island occupied by the Don Krieg and his pirate crew, yet Nami was hoping the rumor of him and most of his gang left already for the Grand-Line was true. Leaving the treasure he got in East Blue on the island for her to take.

Unfortunately, early that morning and one island away from the Don-Krieg pirate's stronghold island that she was leading the ship with the others none the wiser. On a fish boat near by the Going Merry, showed a fisherman and his son named Harry. Yet it's the boy that spotted Zorro who called out to the former pirate hunter enough that they halt the ship for the kid to meet Zorro again and introduce his dad to him. However it was Harry that question why Zorro was in the area when he had stated, the last time Harry saw him, he was headed in the other direction to find more stronger bounty to earn.

Then, after Harry and his dad left the ship and return to their fisherman boat. Is when Zorro confronted her on why they were not heading in the direction of the Grand-Line. And though a voice was telling her to just tell them of her reasons. She didn't. Instead she started barking back at him claiming she knows what she's doing and without her, the other three would be lost. Yet still with her way of taking charge and basically order the others to listen to her and let her lead. At first it seem it worked. That was before she announced they were stopping at the next island for supplies. Just for Usopp to speak up that Kaya's butler, Merry made perfectly sure he stocked them a month's worth of supplies. That even though Luffy is a glutton when it comes to his stomach. They were still stock with food and other supplies to not need to stop. Yet again Nami had tried to convince everyone otherwise that she knows what she's doing.

But this time, Zorro and Usopp wasn't buying it. Enough that Usopp convince Zorro that if he could get the map from her. Then he might be able to read it for them. An act Nami was against of happening. However it was when Zorro reminded all them that when a pirate crew can't agree enough to move forward. It's the captain of that crew to give a final choice in the matter.

Even so, as they all were standing within the lounge (meeting room/kitchen/helm). Nami was unprepared as she felt uneasy when Luffy's, who stood across from her in the room, hat shield his eyes from her seeing his expression as he said, "Is supplies the reason you came this way or is it something else?"

For a moment she almost said the reason, but then reminded herself that she owe none of them an explanation to her actions. Leading to her remain claiming she went this way to stock on supplies. Resulting in Luffy finally giving a captain order.

An order that led to Zorro dropping anchor, halting the ship's movement. And by tomorrow morning the ship will be heading back toward the Grand-Line. For they or the ship didn't need any supplies. As well Nami will show Luffy the direction their going on the map tomorrow too. Which would leave her unable to accomplish the list.

Therefore that captain decision of Luffy's resulted to her beyond enrage to storm off from the others until she entered the women's room.

In fact just a couple of hours earlier, Usopp had asked her if she wanted any supper while speaking through the small emergency exit door that connect between the Men's room to the Women's room. Where Nami shouted out at him through the door, with saying something in the line of she wasn't hungry and going to bed early so leave her alone.

Yet currently as she takes a seat on the sofa couch in the room as her silent ranting has ended. She realizes. That there's no way she's missing this chance to collect all the treasure for her village from those islands. She just needs to use the last result she does when in a situation like this one. However even though she's become a pro at this skill overtime and she never felt uneasy or hesitated using this method. But then again none of her past targets had grown on her. Yet sadly Nami can't deny out of the three guys on the ship with her. Luffy, a simple, minded young man, but also compassion and strong person has caught her attention in ways she wish he haven't.

Realization that in a fit of irritation, while remain in her position on the sofa, Nami flings her boots across the room before buries her face into her hands.

With all the conflicting I'm having in myself. That I'm now questioning rather if I should used that last result on that idiot. Maybe it would have been better if I never met him. Then I wouldn't be having this trouble.

At their first encounter once he fell from the sky. She instantly used him as an easy bait for the pirates chasing her. Only to discovered the young man was no push over when came to strength. Though Nami admits if she had known he was a pirate right along instead of someone she might could team up a bit with until she got safely off the island with the Grand-Line map of course. She wouldn't of waste time breaking in that house as well as making him sandwiches to eat. Nonetheless of that and she still used him easily as bait again. Actions that ended him caged and looking down a Buggy Ball cannon while she's pressured into shooting said cannon at him to show loyalty to Buggy.

However its his calm but serious expression and voice answer to the comeback respond she gave when he question her resolve. An answer she didn't expected from a pirate. Unfortunately due to her halt in lighting the cannon. One of Buggy's underling interrupted her paused state by snatching the match from her and attempt to light the cannon instead. Where she without thinking attacked the man with her faithful Bo-staff. And even if she claimed soon after to Luffy that she wasn't helping him. She just didn't want to be like a pirate and kill people like its nothing. Still she didn't halt in using the cannon on Buggy and his crew with no hesitation in the act.

And that action along should have had her question herself on the statement she gave to Luffy that she only kept him from being hit by the cannon was because she didn't want to kill, though she clearly killed serval of Buggy's crew. Nevertheless of that and at the time she didn't let herself think too hard on that detail.

Thereby with that odd behavior and defending she did toward Luffy not even a thought in her mind. She turned around a couple moments later and attempted to kill him, by her becoming frustrated at two Buggy members, Beast Tamer, Mohji and Richie his big lion that destroyed and burned down a white doggy, Chouchou's late owner's pet store that the dog had been protecting since his owner passed. And although she target her anger on him only cause he was the closest pirate in her sight to kill -despite the town's mayor held her back from doing so, even though Luffy wasn't intimidated by her wanting to kill him, that he'd even told her so.

But while she assumed Luffy was like all pirates, ruthless monsters. The young man surprised her as she learned he fought the two buggy pirates for Chouchou's sake, even brought back a small nearly crushed box of pet food for the dog, telling Chouchou that was all that was left from the lion destroying everything.

Recalling that scene and seeing Chouchou take the box of food Luffy got back for him, Nami, unknowingly, smiles at the memory the same way she did back at that town.

Even so by then she was getting Luffy wasn't your stander pirate. It didn't stop her hate toward all pirates. Though she long agree that she had for a second was going to leave Luffy to Buggy and take off. Only having herself tying up Buggy's arms and legs, preventing from him resembling his body back together. Resulted Luffy thereafter to send the clown pirate into the sky by his rubber powers. Defeating him. Despite she soon, once Luffy left behind the treasure she trusted him with for the town, tried really hard to caused him to drown when she forced his head into the seawater.

Unfortunately, though disregard she was doing it, Nami blushes at reminded of the statement Zorro said back then between her and Luffy as her becoming their navigator (though temporary).

Where by those unexpected words from Zorro. It left her speechless enough to end her attempt to drown Luffy to instead wordlessly distracted herself with checking over the Grand-Line map. While Zorro continued laughing and Luffy seeming lost at the whole awkward situation the swordsman caused her.

Still, and part a day to composed herself before interacting with the two guys. Where she only spoke to them as well kept her promise in fixing Luffy's hat because they needed to get their hands on something bigger than the two small boats they had between them. Mostly since Nami would need a ship to hold all the treasure she was going to swipe from the pirate islands. Leading of course them arrived on the Syrup island, Usopp's homeland.

Without warning Luffy's voice fills her head. "Don't your crew mates mean anything to you?!"

Even now those words of his still has her questioning who Luffy really is. Cause once again she's never met a person like him, rather a pirate or not.

"I don't like them. There's something wrong with them. That isn't what being a pirate, what having nakama, means." As Nami recalls those words Luffy mummer under his breath while she had been supporting him from falling after he defeated Captain Kuro and his crew and basically threw them off the island.

"Nakama.." Like then. Nami can't help repeating that word. Yet as she's still feeling the same longing and sadness at speaking that word again. She falls into dark thoughts.

But just as her mind is bringing up why the innocent word Nakama makes her feel negative emotions, putting her back in a annoy mood. The conversation she had with Luffy back when it was her and him on the slope hill, reaches her. "Hate them. They're Wrong."

Following with hearing her cold, but true statement to him. "Pirates aren't the lovely things you made them out to be. I'd say Captain Kuro's more standard than you."

Words that made a long pause between them before Luffy simply said, "I want meat." Where then she slammed his precious hat on his face in irritation.

However now and for some reason she can't comprehend, Nami's in a fit of giggles at reminded of his simple respond to all it. That even with the compassion and strength he holds. Luffy is a idiot.

A idiot that despite her mind is holding on to denial. Nami's coming to somewhat terms that she might have formed some feelings for him. Indicating her hesitation in using the method that never fails. Because, though her time with Luffy and the others is temporary as they agreed to. Nami's being hopeful that hers and Luffy's departure will not be on bad terms especially after what she's already cause between her and the other guys.

Unfortunately only a couple weeks before her last month of the three she was given is up. Nami has to return to her home-island rather collected enough treasure or not. For she needs to report to Arlong before the deadline. A collateral that Arlong made along with their promise agreement of her collecting 100 million berries to buy her island. Yet as collateral and a sure fire way to make it that Nami can't runaway. Arlong gives her certain amount of time each year to leave the island to collect the money for the village. But if she don't report in before the deadline. Arlong will kill Nami's big sister, Nojko. A detail between her and Arlong that Nami never told her sister despite the two sisters tell each other everything. And knowing Arlong will kill her sister like he already did to both hers and Nojko's adopted late mother, Bellemere or anyone who's crossed him. Nami is never late reporting in.

And Nojko and Genzo -a father figure to both girls- being the last two she considers family. Nami rather die then let the two keep suffering.

Suddenly as if thinking about them had been the push. At once Nami gets to her feet, with no longer hesitation in her plans.

Although formed something for Luffy. Reminded she has no time to waste on things that don't matter more than her village's freedom. And remembers the first betrayal she experienced that got her the name, Cat Burglar. Immediately squashes any shame or remorse she felt in what she's about to do to Luffy, under her foot. And now with her priorities the main focus. Nami, before heading to the stairs, takes out the full proof outfit from her belongings that she's sure will aid her seductive skills.

Giving her short locks one last brush in the mirror attached to the inside of the armoire's door. Nami checks over herself and her sexy attire.

Keeping the tattoo that shows she's a member -not really- of Arlong's pirates conceal all the time when not on the Conomi islands. The white crop top has thin long sleeves to hide the mark she wish never was there. Nevertheless the top's deep v-neck still gives a nice view of her cleavage at every angle. While the shortest skirt she owns that's in a navy blue color. Expose more than her legs if she innocently bends over. Doing this Nami looks behind her at her ass reflecting in the mirror, to see certainly the white thong she's chose to wear doesn't look too bunched up between her ass cheeks. Pleased at the sight her ass shows. Nami twirls a little, watching the low-cut ruffle skirt move as if it were floating.

"Now for the last touches and I'll be ready." Saying this Nami shuffles through the beauty/bath supplies she's able to keep within the bottom of her traveling bag, regardless she normally place much of her collected money in the bag when mobile. However because the products are special to her. She never thinks of removing any one of them to make space for treasure despite she throws out some of her clothes to make room for said treasure. No, though its not worth any money. There priceless.

Mostly since each supply is made with the secret ingredients that Nami's late mother, Bellemere created. Beauty/bath products Bellemere created to replace the beauty/bath products she couldn't afford. But also things such as food products like sauces, drinks and of also fruit snacks for herself, Nami and Nojko. Formed into Bellemere creating homemade beauty, bathing, sauces and drinks products with mikan as the main ingredient. Well ones from her own mikan grove. Unfortunately its not until Nojko stumbled upon some documents revealed Bellemere been motion in starting a line of all her homemade mikan products. In fact it seem she already had things in place including many buyers on the island that was ready to try her products. Products Nami knows, unless your allergic to mikans, would sold like hot cakes. But sadly Arlong ruined all that.

Yet learned Bellemere's plan and discovered a list on all her recipes of each product. Nojko picked up where their late mother left off. And each time Nami is home. She stocks up on the beauty/bath products from Nojko's supply. But Nami doesn't prefer Nojko's products just because there great. It's because they make her think of home and reminds her why she's doing everything to collect treasure out here. Yet beyond that and though the island's residents don't have much income between them. It's thanks to those products selling local, that Nojko can afford the monthly 'living' fee that everybody has to give to remain alive on the island.

Done applying the homemade lipstick that makes her lips smell and taste like a mikan. And she didn't take her nightly bath that she set up for herself after once setting sail on the Going Merry. Nami, though she's clearly sure she smells better then any of the others on the ship. Gives her cleavage, and expose navel and behind each of her ears a little sprit from her family's homemade mikan perfume. Pleased she looks ready to kill with her get up and she smells delicious. Nami heads to the stairs, reaching the hatch door in the room's ceiling.

Yet she assumes confident enough to complete the task tonight. As Nami unlatches the lock on the hatch to keep others out. She's hoping, despite Luffy hasn't shown any sign of interest, that her seduction skills and looks is enough to have the rubber young man wrapped around her finger that he won't question her actions while temporary with him and the others. Like many past targets didn't once she seduce them to follow her like a pet til got everything she wants and then leave them without a care.

But due to her experience and past observations on the subject. She's notice that Usopp has knowledge of the concept of sex. But obviously has no experience in it. Whereas Zorro has had, if not more physically sexual experience with others for Nami to tell the swordsman's the kind she's glad he's not the one she needs to seduce. For Nami knows her skills isn't close to his rank in experience. She already saw herself not winning that kind of game with him.

In fact if her skills fails on Luffy or he's asexual as Usopp started calling him after Luffy remark he doesn't see what's so appealing about Kaya's female body once him and Zorro stumbled on Usopp's sketch book displaying a provocative nude drawing of Kaya.

And the only reason Nami knew about that event with the guys. Is cause she heard them through the emergency door between the sleeping rooms. And although Zorro remarked he would break Kaya at how small she is. It was still Luffy's statement that dud Usopp calling Luffy an asexual.

Yet again Nami is hoping Usopp is wrong. Because the other two weren't an option. Mostly since it's the leader or captain within the group she goes for in these situations. I mean that's the reason she's claiming to herself tonight.

Anyway, thanks to Luffy having a habit of staying up at night a bit after everyone is asleep. A habit Nami accidentally discovered back during her traveling with him and Zorro in their two shared boats.

Believed the two guys were asleep. Nami had decided to use that opportunity to count her treasure and check the list. But didn't get the chance when she found a silent Luffy still up looking out at the night ocean. However by the time he had called it a night. And because she didn't take her eyes off him the whole time. Nami was too sleepy to stay up after he went to sleep.

And even if she missed a chance to count her treasure and look over the list thoroughly. Learned Luffy is a night owl. Benefits her tonight, cause unlike this morning, it be just her and him. Nothing or anybody to interrupt her completing her task.

Exiting the women's quarters to enter up into the storage room. Nami pauses in her steps at reaching the storage room's exit door. Even now with her priorities still in tack. The young woman inhales and exhales a breath a bit and then with a clearer mind. She opens the door and steps out onto the deck.

Instantly, thanks to her thief skills, she notice the sleeping swordsman resting on the deck before his snoring reach her ears. But again being nearly a master thief and choosing to go barefoot, Nami made no sound as she bypass Zorro. Though it didn't stop her from wandering why she wasn't informed Zorro has watch tonight. Since it been her to station out who gets night watch. But since that problem can be handled later. Her mind was clear of all distraction and only had one goal to accomplish tonight. Get the Going Merry back in her commands without trouble.

…

However as the orange-haired kept heading toward where the captain would be on the ship. The green-haired swordsman opens his eyes, mutely observing Nami without sound to her walking, moving until she's reach the steps that leads to the ship's bow, where clearly Luffy was.

But Zorro already knew where his captain is, especially since said captain informed after Usopp left to ask Nami if she wanted anything to eat. Luffy stated, while they were alone, that because the young woman now feels she's trapped in a corner. She will seek him out and try to seduce him.

Immediately Zorro had his trusted Wado sword unshield and ready to remind Nami their not fools that she can use as she see's fit. But quickly Luffy had his rubbery arms holding him in place, preventing Zorro from moving. And it's there where Luffy told him to take night watch. But above all else let him handle Nami his way.

Naturally at how Luffy seems like a simple-minded idiot that's too stupid to even breathe. Zorro should been shock about his plans involving Nami. Like there's actually a working brain inside him. Which there is. Though Zorro figured out there's more to Luffy then meets the eyes nearly right away once meeting him.

I mean Zorro admits at first glance he consider the young man as dimwit. But a dimwit wouldn't slyly convince a pirate hunter to join his pirate crew. No of course not. Instead he simply negotiated that if he returns Zorro's swords to him. He'll join his crew and become his first mate. Still it's not until Luffy goats Cody in punching him in front of the officer there in the café they were in, showing him and Cody have no friendly bond with each other. So the kid could follow his dream and become a marine. Was another sign to Zorro that Luffy is no dimwit. Although he quickly picked up that his captain wasn't some genius, but wasn't also a idiot as many would expected at going the way he acts.

Thereby, during them both lost and trying to reach the beach back on Syrup village. It's here when Luffy actually tells him to hold back a bit more. Only cause if they arrived before Kuro. The bastard would of have try to escape if not blame Usopp for the whole thing. And though Usopp got hurt at them purposely delay reaching the battle. Luffy wanted to make sure Kuro was there since he was kicking his ass. But also he wanted Usopp to fight for his village, without expecting them to only do it.

"If I'm making him part of my crew. He's got to have a true pirate's heart. And ready to risk his life. And not be all talk."

And there Zorro learned his captain wasn't a joke when it mattered as well as know what kind of people he wants in his crew. Yet Zorro's unsure about his captain wanting a musician so badly, though. Nonetheless of that. And although him and Luffy had to enter the battle before Kuro even showed. Usopp growing a back bone a bit was important, especially since that act is what got Luffy, unknown to the long-nose, allowing him joining in the end. Even still, Zorro question later why Luffy poses as a simply-minded idiot. And taken back at the response.

"The woman during my early childhood that I consider her the closest thing to a mom. She told me that if the world takes me at face value only. Then let them. It's ones that I trust with all my heart who should be the ones to see the real me. Though it's much later when I caught on she was talking about the kids in my village and how they treated me without getting to know me. Yet since last year. I decided to drop my mask only when it needs to be. Besides, even with me more self aware then I usually show. I'm still a carefree idiot. An idiot that can't lie to save his ass, and let's my stomach leads me when hungry. And I'm find with it, as from your face you are too. But I'm not ready to let anyone else know, especially Usopp."

But when Zorro asked what about Nami. Luffy started laughing.

"Shishishi, she's hiding something, something that's to do with her collecting a lot of money. And she hates pirates. But that matters nothing to me. I trust her. So if she ever gets curious like you. I'll tell her. You're my first mate. But she's the first person I saw. Yet I won't make her stay with us, if she freely doesn't want too. Still she's my nakama even if she leaves the crew."

Heard that and could feel the seriousness he has toward Nami. Zorro was tempted to call his captain out on his obvious feelings for her. But he instead didn't. After all it was none of his business but more importantly. As long as it doesn't interrupt his dream in becoming the strongest swordsman in the world. He had no problem to it all.

Soundlessly yawning while stretching his arms making his muscles pop a bit once seeing Nami's form disappear from his view. Lowered himself more on the deck until he was laying fully flat on the deck though his hands were crossed behind his head. And his part mostly done. Zorro finally went to sleep. He just hopes whatever happens the rest of the night. He won't be bothered any time soon. Mainly since himself couldn't disregard the revealing attire he saw her wearing. Sure Zorro can't deny Nami is a looker. But his more then experience sex life made him realized despite her flirtation ways. Nami only has a ankle deep in the pool of sexuality even her sexy getup was only baby steps in skills of seduction. That's why he doesn't see Nami as appealing, though she has looks. No only highly experienced women get his blood going. However it's clear anyway his captain has his eye on the orange-haired. He just hopes Luffy knows what he's doing. The last thing he wants is a lovesick captain being at Nami's beck and call.
