Telling The Truth

Telling The Truth

By: Reffie Striheart

Yuffie strolled down the middle of Nibelheim. She pretended that she wasn't looking for anyone but she was. She had to find Vincent....she had to tell him the truth.

*

Vincent lay in his coffin. He was all alone now. All of his friends were gone. Now he could lay here in this musty coffin forever. And worst of all... no one would care.

*

She knew where to find him. Even though basements scared her, she forced herself down the stairs. This was something that she had to do. She'd been so mad at hi, whenever he rambled on about how he had failed her so badly. How? Yuffie wondered. From what she heard he hadn't down much more then let his girlfriend do what she wanted, not what Vincent thought was right, or wanted to do. But Vincent saw this as a failure.

Whatever.

She creeped in the door and took a deep breath before walking stealthily over to the coffin she knew was Vincent's. She tapped on it lightly. A grunt. Yuffie tapped on it a little louder. A growl.

" Vinnie, are you in there?"

" What do you think?"

" Vincent was that sarcastic?"

" Leave me alone Yuffie."

The ninja pulled the coffin lid off. In the dark gloom Yuffie saw two red orbs staring up at her. " Why?"

" Yuffie."

" I want to talk."

The ex-Turk snorted. " Then go find Cloud or Tifa or somebody and talk their ear off."

" Vincent!" Yuffie exclaimed. " Take that back!"

He stared evenly into her eyes.

" Fine. I don't care. But I need to tell you something."

" So this is the punishment that God has sent me for failing Lucrecia."

" Thats it exactly!" Yuffie yelled. Vincent looked slightly suprised. " Al you ever do is mourn about Lucrecia. Its always about her with you. Can't you ever forget? I mean you didn't really fail her. From what I hear she refused her help and that most certainly isn't your fault that she didn't want your help. It waasn't your part to play night in shining armor and come rescue the fair maiden from the evil bad guy! That was Lucrecia's decsion so she should take the fall for her actions, not you, you dummy!"

Vincent stared at her. " And what, Yuffie Kisaragi, would you rather keep my mind on? You?"

Yuffie shrugged. Her brown eyes twinkled. " Errare humanum est, in errare perservare stultum."

Vincent blinked in surprise as the ninja walked from the room.

It is human to make a mistake, it is stupid to persist on it.
