Once upon a time there was a handsome prince who lived in a fine castle. This prince grew up with all of the things necessary to a prince – fine clothes, rich jewels, magnificent art, fine horses and boats and many servants to do his bidding. The prince's kingdom was wealthy and prosperous and the envy of other kingdoms all around. The prince was so handsome and rich that all of the princesses and maidens in the kingdom hoped he would someday marry them.
In one day the kingdom lost all of its treasures and the subjects turned overnight into poor peasants scrabbling for an existence. The prince was lucky, for his family was able to keep their personal treasures and in fact they came to an agreement with the evil wizard to help him in return for continuing to have their great wealth.
Our prince however was spoiled and somewhat selfish but he was not evil at heart. Disagreeing with his family he left the castle and went to live alone in a tower in the midst of his poor subjects. There he used his share of treasure to try to help his people make their sad lives better. His family cast him off and our prince was lonely and buried his heart in his good works.
One night the prince was awakened by a noise in his lonely tower. Creeping out he found a beautiful young peasant girl stealing one of his many treasures. Frightened the girl fled but the prince was enchanted by her. He vowed to find her again and next day sent out his minions to seek her out.
Seeking far and wide the prince discovered that she was a magical princess who had been held captive by an evil king in a kingdom far away. One day she escaped but she was always hiding afraid the evil king would find her and bring her back for she had magical powers that he wished to use for evil.
The girl was lonely too so she joined with the prince and used her magical powers to help him in his quest. But, the prince was afraid to open his heart to the maiden. He kept it locked away. This might have gone on for many years, our prince and princess both afraid to open their hearts to true love but one day a spell cast by the evil king found the princess and she was lured away by the smiles of a handsome young page. She cried and cried afterwards because she had betrayed her true love the prince
Meanwhile the prince had discovered that he was not happy keeping his heart locked away from his princess and he decided he would tell her of his love. Inviting the princess to a magnificent banquet he began to open his heart to her but she was ashamed and turned away from him. But our prince had learned wisdom and he forgave his princess.
Together the prince and princess shared a magical kiss and their hearts reached out to each other.
Alas happy ever after was not yet to be. The evil king found the princess and stole her away from the prince. He kept her captive in his dark fortress far away from the prince and the prince feared she was dead. But, our prince was not one to give up. His heart had been opened to true love and he knew his princess was somewhere. He sent out many spies to search for her and until he found her he cast a spell (for he had learned some from the princess) to send his love to the princess and to keep her strong until he could reach her and rescue her.
