Gotham City, 1979

One day after the event on the museum, Bruce Wayne woke up earlier at 7 am, it was his second day at work in the Wayne Enterprises, he took a bath, put a suit and was preparing to meet Harvey Dent on the Enterprises to make it the deal,

When he came down the stairs, there was Alfred sitting on the coffee table, waiting him for breakfast, reading the local newspaper, drinking a copple of tea.

He then cumplimented Bruce Wayne:

"Good morning, Mr. Bruce, sit, please."

"Good morning, Alfred."

Then he sat and started to put the butter on the toast when Alfred immediately said:

"Well, so do you have any idea what Harvey Dent want to discuss with you about the partnership?"

"No, idea, Alfred."

"Well, I'm not liking it, maybe you were right yesterday night when you said that. Gotham is full of problems, the cartels are still a powerful force here, and seeing that he's in favor of these two vigilantes, two vandals which are commiting crimes against the population, just a way to justify the atrocities commited by the mafia... It really frightens me..."

Then Bruce started to think, he couldn't say Alfred that he's one of the vigilantes, Alfred would never accept it, it's against his principles to make justice with the own hands, mainly in Gotham, so he couldn't trust about it.

So he asked to Alfred:

"But what the newspaper says about these vigilants?"

"Well nothing so much, only that are two terrorists and are the effect of the frustated population in Gotham City which had to live together with the mafia and the cartels by so many years... According to Harvey Dent, of course."

Then Bruce remained silent and Alfred gave his point of view:

"You know, Bruce, it's so complicated this history, because for so many years we had to live together with the mafia and the cartels here in Gotham, we know the atrocities they've had commited or how corrupted is our police and governement, because of them, but without them, I'm affraid of what Gotham City would become..."

And Bruce still remained silented while Alfred was saying:

"Look, I'm not defending the mafia, but it's a very complicated history... I don't have doubt that maybe Harvey Dent is this so called Batman that every newspaper is putting on..."

Then Bruce finished his coffee and said:

"Ok, Alfred, time to work, we talk later."

"Sure, Mr. Bruce, take care of yourself, remember of your father and don't do anything he wouldn't do..."

"Sure, thanks, Alfred."

"Good luck."

On the Enterprises, Bruce started his day receiving a pile of papers of actions of the company by the secretary, after studying the profits and injuries that the Wayne Enterprise spent on the last few days, the secretary appeared again in her office:

"Mr. Bruce..."

"Yes..." he answered.

"Harvey Dent is here, want to talk with you."

"Ok, call him."

"Sure, sir."

When Harvey appeared Bruce was impressed. Harvey was taller, older, in his 30s, wearing a white suit, tan skinned, with a short haircut.

He was very stylishful and elegant, then he come to compliment, Bruce.

"Good morning, Mr. Bruce, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Then he shake his hands with Bruce and Bruce answered back:

"The pleasure is mine."

"Oh you're so young, how old are you?"

"I'm 18."

"Oh, 18, so great seeing someone so young taking charge of such a powerful Enterprises, such as The Wayne's, your father would be so proud of you, son."

Bruce got awnkward after what Harvey said to him and agreed with a slight smile:

"Yes, he would, sir, thanks so much for the compliment."

"You welcome, kid. So I'm here to discuss the partnership of The Wayne Enterprises with my campaign and I want to know if you're interested to participate."

Then the secretary appeared and asked to Harvey:

"Excuse me, sir, do you want to drink something, coffee?"

"Yes, sure, a cup of coffee, please."

Then the secretary going out while they were discussing about the business.

"So I'm here to discuss about a deal..."

Then the secretary re appeared with the coffee and served to him:

"Oh, thank you so much." He said

"You welcome, sir. Excuse me." said her smiling so happy for his kindness.

Then the secretary go out and let them to discuss about business.

"So, like I was saying, I'm here to discuss about a deal of The Wayne Enterprises with my Election Campaingn, you know it's been a while since the mafia controls everything of Gotham, from politics, to the mayor, to the news of people, it's nothing new from the population here... Even now, with the appearence of these two vigilantes, they're the symbol of how our population is frustated to get domminated by the cartels... So, since I know The Wayne Enterprises were always so powerful here in Gotham, I'm proposing with you, Mr. Wayne, some negociations, if you're open to..."

"Sure, Harvey, could you explain it better?"

"Of course, I'm organizing a comitive, the estimative is that my profits of my election campaign are gonna be like USD 50.000, so I'm giving you a profit of like 25% of this. This money, 25% of my profits are gonna be from the Wayne Enterprises, in exchange of a sponsorship over my campaign, what do you think?"

Then Bruce started to think about the deal.

"Humm, that's great, Harvey, I appreciate a lot of your deal, but I need to think better about it..."

"Sure, that's ok, Mr. Wayne. Come to my party, tonight, so maybe you can see it better..."

Then Bruce said without hesisated a minute:

"Sure, absolutely."

"Ok, see you there. Thank you so much, Mr. Wayne."

Then he shake Bruce's hands and Bruce said to him smiling:

"It was my pleasure."

So, Harvey left the office and Bruce started to think. He was really a nice guy, gentleman, which wanted to change the politics of Gotham, the mafia and the cartels. It was such a great idea he would had to contact The Wayne Enterprises for it, if it wasn't too risk enough to put Bruce's life in danger. He couldn't take risks anymore, as much as he was taking for being considered a vigilante of Gotham.

Afterwards, he smoke some cigarrettes to think better, and the secretary:

"Anything you need, Mr. Bruce?"

"No, thanks, Cady."

After that, he spent all the day on the office until 7 pm thinking about it and lunching around.

Then he went at home and saw Alfred there reading a newspaper with his glasses and smoking a pipe. So, he saw Bruce and asked him:

"Oh, good evening, Mr. Bruce, so how was working today?"

"Good evening, Alfred. It was great, Harvey went there in the office today at the morning."

"Humm... So what do you discuss?" asked Alfred worried.

"Nothing so important, just a partnership he wants to do with The Enterprises over his election campaign..."

So Alfred started to think worried:

"Humm... Be careful, Mr. Bruce."

"Sure, Alfred. So, he invited me, to his election party, now 8 pm, so I'm going to prepare myself to go there, ok?"

Then Alfred started to thinking and then said to him:

"Ok... Sure... But be careful."

"Sure, I'll be, Alfred. Thanks."

So then, Bruce risen up the stairs, took a bath and prepared to Harvey's party. He put a brown suit, with a yellow button up shirt and black tied and went there.

Arriving there, he saw that the party was full of guests and was really sophisticated.

The waiters were wearing white suits with a bow tie and there was various canapés.

When he arrived, he saw Harvey greeting cordially the people. There was a really beautiful blonde woman on his side with a purple suit, a green sweeter, a purple long skirt and sticked hair.

After Harvey saw him he greeting:

"Hi, Bruce, so nice to see you there."

"Thank you, Harvey. Your party is amazing, so nice to see you there."

"Oh that's my plesure. So let me introduce my fiancée Grace Lamont, Grace Lamont this is Bruce Wayne."

"So nice to meet you, Mr. Bruce, Harvey said so much good things about you."

"Thanks, so nice to meet you too." Bruce accomplished Grace.

"So, do you drink?" asked Harvey.

"Well, I think I've never..."

"Don't worry kid, if the police knocks here, you said that's only a cocktail without alcoolhool." joked Harvey. "Just kidding, hey mister..."

Then a waiter appeared:

"Yes, sir."

"A glass of martini for Bruce Wayne, please."

"Oh, that's so kind of you, Harvey..." Bruce tried to contest him.

Then the waiter brought him a glass cup with martini and a olive.

When he started drinking he saw another blonde girl, wearing a long black dress with no sleeves, a red lipstick and with a short bob haircut greeting him with a glass of martini. Firstly he didn't recognize, but after he realized: it was Selina.

He didn't know how she went there, so he asked to Harvey:

"So what about that girl with black dress over there?"

"Humm, are you interested, Mr. Bruce? Well, she's Rose Bleur, like she said, she's new here in the city. His father was an owner of one of the best trademarks in Western India, like she said, but I don't think she's for you. She said she's 24 years old and she has a boyfriend that lives in Caprio." joked Harvey.

"Hahahah, thanks, Harvey. Let me see her." Bruce smiled back to him.

"Hey, be careful kid, good luck." said Harvey to him.

Then Bruce approached to her, and she couldn't stop starring at him.

"So, Mrs. Rose... Nice to meet you."

"Thanks... Nice to meet you too, you are?"

"Bruce Wayne." said him ironically.

Then she smiled back.

"Well, well, so old are you? What you are doing with a glass of martini in your hand?"

"Actually, Harvey Dent gave it too me. And you, aren't you younger too?"

"Well, I'm 24 years old, kid. Do you wanna see my ID?" said Selina in a sarcastic way.

Then a vienesse waltz started to play and everybody started to dance to and Selina asked him:

"Well, I love this song. Do you wanna dance, kid?"

"Absolutely." said Bruce in an ironic way.

So, they left the glasses with martini with the waitress and started to dance, then Selina whispered:

"My boyfriend would be very furious if he saw me dancing with a young boy..."

"What are you doing here, Selina?" whispered Bruce back.

"Well, just enjoying the party. Eating some canapés, drinking so much alcoolhool and talking bullshit with these fancy people..."

"No, but why are you here?"

"Why, Bruce Wayne? Are you curious what's my next move? Hahahah" asked her smiling to him. "No, but it's nothing interesting, I have some news that maybe some mafia leaders would be here tonight, so I'm trying to find one of them."

"Which mafia leaders? Harvey doesn't like them..."

"Well, it seems your friend have more secrets that you don't know... The mafia leaders hate him exactly, but they're trying to blackmail him to keep his mounth shut, you know..."

"So Harvey is up to negotiate with them?"

"It seems so..." whispered Selina.

That time, he stopped keep an eye of Harvey and doesn't found him, then he realised, he went out of the party.

"Wait a minute here, Selina."

"Why? Now things are getting interesting." she said to him.

Then he started to search for Harvey, but he didn't found him any place, he asked to his fiancée, Grace and she didn't know also where he have been, so then someone turn off the lights and the presentator said:

"Welcome, everyone to this amazing party, Harvey is so glad to have all of you here. So, let me introduce... Harvey Dent!"

After he said that everyone started to applause, after some while, Harvey didn't show up, so everyone started to suspect what was happening, then his wife asking:

"What's going on, Bruce? Have you seen Harvey?

"No, I haven't Grace."

So, Selina looked at him and he looked back to her.

After that, he left the party alone and started to search for some clues on the outside of the party.

He saw some oil trails on the floors which could leads to another place, a shed on the city.

Meanwhile on the shed there was Harvey with a mafia leader called Sal Maroni with more than USD 20.000 on the pocket.

"I swear to you... This is everything I got, please don't do anything bad to Grace, I beg you..."

"Liar!" shouted Sal Maroni to him. "Guys, you know what to do."

Then they started to punch him so much on the face and left him full of bruises on the face and in the eye.

After that, Harvey started to cry so bad and tried to resist, then they picked Harvey on the arms and Harvey said:

"Please, don't do anything bad to her, sir. I yield." said Harvey full of wounds on his face.

Then Sal Maroni approached to him with the remanufactured shirt, showing his fist and started to thread Harvey:

"Do you know what happens when somebody threads the Maroni family, Mr. Dent? And all the other families over here that control, Gotham and gives stability for the rest of people?!"

"Yes, I know sir, I'm sorry."

"Sorry isn't enough, I know who you are and what you've been doing to my family! You're that vigilante, that people are saying, The Batman, with your fiancée prostitute that's that Cat lady! So, now, I'm gonna kill both of you for messing up with my family!"

So then he started to punch Harvey so bad and then picked a bottle of sulfuric acid on his hand:

"Now, I'm gonna show you the consequences to mess up with my family..."

So he started to trickle the acid down on his face, and Harvey started to scream full of pain.

That time the henchmen and Sal Maroni heard a voice:

"Stop!"

When they turned around there was Batman.

"It's me that you are looking forward, not him."

"How's that even possible?!" asked Sal Maroni surprised. "Guys, kill him!"

Then the Sal Maroni henchmen approached to Batman and started to shot him down, but he deviates from the bullets. So he take down the first one, and after the rest started to fight him with a knife.

In this time, Sal Maroni left there, leaving Harvey alone and the rest of his henchmen dealing with Batman.

Then the Sal Maroni's henchmen, started to try to kill him, with the knives, but Batman deviates from all of them, picking the Sal Maroni henchmen with a batrang and tied them up with a rope.

Bruce had a little cut on his belly, but he succeed in face all the Sal Maroni henchmens.

So he approached to Harvey to see how he was.

Harvey was fainted at the floor and then he screamed:

"Harvey! Harvey!"

When he turned arround he saw Harvey with his face very disfigurated from a side and then he started to scream:

"Harvey, nooooo!"
