Gotham City, 1979

Following the events of the last chapter, Carmine killed Rupert Thorne on the floor after strangling him to the death.

Then he called his bodyguard:

"Milos..."

"Yes, sir..."

"Please take the corpse of this deplorable man out of here and leave him as message in the city hall for these vigilants and all the ones who tries get along our ways, everyone here needs to know what happens with the ones who tries to mess with the Roman Empire..." ordered Carmine.

"Yes, my Roman..." said him.

Earlier in the morning, Bruce waken up with a bad feeling and all sweating.

Afterwards he took a bath and went downstairs and saw Alfred reading a newspaper.

"Good morning, Mr. Bruce, woken up earlier today, I haven't seen you arriving here yesterday night..."

"Good morning, Aflred. Yeah... Tuff day on work yesterday night..."

Then he made his breakfast and turned on the TV.

At the same instant he turned on the TV, he saw a news about Rupert Thorne's corpse found hanged on the city hall with his brain opened and his eyes covered in the face making a symbolism of the justice and with his chest cut forming the phrase: "Brute."

After that, Bruce remained shocked from it and Alfred asked:

"Are you ok, Mr. Bruce?"

Then Bruce turned back to him and said:

"Yes, Alfred, it's just..."

"Yes, I know. What a crazy thing to see. At least it's nothing envolved with us... But besides of that, it's really a shocking scene."

So, Bruce remained quiet for a little bit, had his breakfast and, after a while, he said:

"Look, Alfred I have to go..."

"Sure, Mr. Bruce, no problem."

"Ok, bye, see you later."

"See you. Try to get earlier today."

"Ok, sure." answered Bruce back.

"Bye." said Alfred.

So he started to see Bruce and saw him entering on his car and said to himself:

"Yeah, maybe Lucius is right, I don't know..."

Then, Bruce passes to the city of hall and pulled over the car there.

There was crowd of people watching the Rupert Thorne's corpse by the time he arrived. Also, the FBI agents were there alongside Jim Gordon.

So, he changed his clothes and went there to investigate.

After a while, when he appeared as Batman he started to get praised by a lot of people and the locals newspapers and broadcasters started to photograph him.

Some while later, he finally got where the FBI agents were with Jim Gordon.

"It seems you had a lot of fans here, Bat boy." said the FBI agent in a sarcastic way.

"Ok, what have I missed?" asked the Batman.

"Nothing for now. Go attend to your fans, they are absolutely worried about you. Let the police do its job..."

So, the FBI agent turned his back against Bruce and Jim Gordon said to him:

"I'm sorry, kid..."

Then, they turned their backs against The Batman leaving him there.

Maybe they were right, it's not the Batman's issue anymore dealing with the mafia, after so close to get it, now the police is doing it. Maybe this what it is, he doesn't know. The Batman already dealed a lot with this job, now it's time to let the police working so on.

Then, he left his scene, and decided to go back to work as Bruce Wayne again.

Arriving there, he was received by his secretary with a cup of coffee served and a small box of cigarettes. She complimented him politely:

"Good morning, Mr. Bruce."

"Good morning, Cady." said him back.

"So, here's the checkout process of The Wayne Corporation last month, it seems after so many years of increasing... We are finally suffering from a mass decreasing, the actions of the Enterprises inflated from a total of 2.8% in comparasion with the other months..."

After that, he analysed the checkout and was really worried about it. This is what happened when he was too worried saving the world, but couldn't save his father's Enterprises during the day. What a shame for him, he could be.

"Should I mark a meeting with the other members of The Enterprises?" asked her.

Then he looked to her and said:

"Yes, thank you, is there anything else?" asked him.

"Yes, someone gave you a note earlier this morning..."

So, she showed him the message.

He opened up it and read it.

It says: "Meet me up on my grave. Same spot. XO." and mark of a red lipstick on the message.

Then he said to her:

"Thanks..."

"You welcome, sir, is there anything else I can do for you?"

"No, it's fine."

"Ok, see you then Mr. Bruce."

So, the secretary left the office.

He started to think about what he could do to the Enterprises. He stayed so much time absent there for fighting against crime that totally forgot about his father's businesses. In the other hand, there was Selina calling him to meeting him. He was really confused with all of it.

So, he picked a cigar and smoked.

After some while, he started to search the possibilites of were it all went wrong, but also couldn't stop overthinking of Selina. "And what if it was important? What if she does something stupid?" he couldn't stop overthinking around that. Even in the meeting with the other members his attention was towards it.

Then, after the meeting he left his office and went on the cemitery where Selina was.

After arriving there, he found Selina and she said to him:

"Well, it seems somebody got earlier today, hum? Where were you, Bat Boy?"

"I'm sorry, but I had some things to revolve around The Enterprises..."

Then Selina deviated her eye to him and said sarcasticaly:

"Well, well, the Wayne Enterprises. It seems somebody is really busy, huh?!"

So, he looked towards her and asked:

"What do you want?"

"Oh, how rude, boy. I mean maybe you already know why I'm here, don't you?"

"I have my guess..."

Then she gave him a smirk.

"So, I know that it was him."

"You what?"

Then she got serious:

"I know who's the main responsible for murdering Rupert Thorne..."

So, Bruce got surprised and asked to her:

"So, who's it?"

Then she took a deep breath, looked at him and said:

"I mean, I don't know, Bruce, but I got a feeling that it's the same... Bastard who killed my family a long time ago. I don't know, but I've never been so much sure about something in my entire life than this..."

Then Bruce got surprised to her and asked:

"But how? How could you be so certain about it, Selina?"

So, she started to get angrier and said:

"I don't know, silly boy. I just know that it's him and it's time for him to pay for his crimes!"

Then, Bruce touch her and he said:

"Selina, please let me help you..."

"Don't touch me! You don't have any idea how long it took for me to plan this revenge against this bastard!" screamed her madly to Bruce.

Then he looked at her scaried and she started to cry and gave him a hug:

"I'm sorry, darling, I didn't mean to say that to you..."

So, Bruce said to her:

"That's ok, Selina. I just don't want you to do anything stupid..."

After saying that, she stopped hugging him and said:

"That's not stupid, Bruce! He must pay for his sins, for what he did with all the people he hurted here in Gotham just like my old parents!"

So, Bruce remained quietly and asked scaried from the answer:

"I know, but what do you plan to do with him?"

Then, she took a deep breath and said:

"I don't know it yet, Bruce. But if killing him is the necessary, then I'll have no choice..."

Meanwhile, a few hours earlier in the Police Department, the peridical doctor realized the authopsis of Rupert Thorne's corpse.

So, he left the local and reported what he found to the autorities.

When he arrived the FBI asked him:

"So, what did you found?"

"There was a note trapped in his stomach..."

Then Jim and the FBI entered there with gloves and touched on the note it was written:

"Meet me in the Deck 42 at 12am, only the bat and the cat!"

After that, Jim looked surprised and said:

"We should tell Batman what we found..."

"No, let it be..." denied the FBI agent.

"But he needs to know about it, it's his life that's in danger..."

"No, liutenant. Do you have any idea how risky it could be talking to him about it?! He's just a kid and this might be a trap!"

"I'm sorry, but he needs to know about it. I know how protective we have to be with him, because he seems to be just a kid, but not telling him will be a great mistake..."

After a while, the FBI agent started to thinking and asked the Comissioneer:

"So, what's your plan, James? How are you gonna tell him about it since we don't have even any walkie talkie to call him?"

Then, Jim Gordon started to thinking about it and said:

"I still don't know about it, but I think I have a plan..."

After a while, they decided to get up on the rooftop and made a signal for the Batman with a high spotlight on the sky with his logo. And that's how the bat signal was formed.

Later in the end of the afternoon, while Bruce and Selina were on Gotham's cemitery, the FBI agent and James Gordon were on the rooftop and decided to turn on the Bat Signal.

"So are you ready?" asked the FBI agent.

Then Gordon climbed his head and said "yes" very determined.

So, the FBI agent turned on the spotlight and there was figure of a Bat in the sky.

Everyone from Gotham have seen it, including Alfred from the Wayne Massion who was worried about Bruce that he didn't had arrived to the mansion yet.

After a while in the cemitery, Selina looked surprised and asked Bruce:

"What's this, Bat Boy?"

"I think they're calling me, Selina. I have to go to see what's this."

Then Bruce was leaving when Selina grabbed his arm and said:

"Hey, wait a minute, don't you think this is a trap?"

Then he looked at her and said:

"I don't know, but I have to go to see what's it..."

So, he stepped back and went on there.

Selina also followed him as Catwoman.

Arriving there, in the rooftop, the FBI agent and Jim Gordon were discussing if the plan had worked out, so the Batman appeared and Jim said surprised:

"Batman! The plan really worked!"

"So, what is it?" asked the Batman.

Then the FBI agent approached to the Batman and said:

"We found a piece of paper in Rupert Thorne's body. It seems that whoever it is want to meet you and that cat lady on the deck tonight at 12 am."

So, the Batman said:

"Sure, I see it. Thanks for saying it, sir!"

When he was leaving the FBI agent stopped him and said:

"Wait a minute, kid..."

Then he turned back and the FBI agent said to him:

"We found it's really dangerous for you to go there alone, that could be ovsiously an ambush, so we're thinking to spy you while you go there..."

Then the FBI agent gave him and walkie talkie.

At this time, the Catwoman was listening to all of it hiden in the wall.

The Batman has seen there was something really suspicious to be her leg and was surprised.

"Are you listening to me, boy?" asked the FBI agent.

Then Bruce looked at him and said:

"Oh yes, thanks for warning, sir!"

So, he left the scene and went to his mansion.

He couldn't stop thinking back and fourth about it in his room. What if Selina go there before him? It'll wreck all the plans...

Then Alfred knocked on his room and called him to go dinner.

Alfred at this time was really suspicious that it was something wrong with Bruce.

When he was having his dinner with Alfred, Bruce haven't said any word to Alfred, not even about the decrease of the Wayne Enterprises, for not get Alfred worried to it.

So, he had this dinner and when was leaving the dinner table when Alfred approached to him:

"Are you not gonna eat more, Mr. Bruce?"

Then Bruce looked at him and said:

"No, the food and the drink were perfectly fine. Thanks, Alfred."

So, he left the dinner table and locked himself in the room.

Hours passing by and he couldn't stop thinking about it, his life was in danger and it started get him more and more anxious about it.

Then after approaching the time to go on there, he left his mansion trying to be more careful about it.

Alfred has seen him leaving there and followed him until the Bat Cave.

After that, Alfred stayed some time out, watching Bruce entering there.

Some time later, he decided to enter and when he entered he was really surprised about what he seem.

Bruce already had left the scene when he was entering on there.

So, he said to himself surprised:

"Oh my god, little boy? What have you been doing?!"

Then he looked at the things and was amazed. He was without no doubt anymore: Bruce Wayne was The Batman.

Meanwhile, Selina was already entering on the Deck 42.

She found two guards there and surreptitiously attacked both of them without making any noise.

Then she said to herself laughing:

"It seems it's gonna be so much more emotional than I expected it. Meow!"

So, she listening to a noise of someone's clapping her and saw a shadow approaching around her.

Then there was a lot of men circling her around and the shadow was approaching more and more, then it said:

"Well, well, very impressive, litlle girl..."

So, the shadow approached more and it was easy to recognize, it was Milos.

Then she looked at him and recognized him very shocked: that man was the one who killed her parents, years ago. The same guy, but much more older.

"It seems the cat bite its own tongue, huh?" said him laughing in a sarcastic way.

So, every other henchmen started to laugh.

After started to get angrier and angrier and said:

"What do you want for me, your bastard?!"

"I don't know I ask you the same thing, what do you want from us, to the Roman Empire?!"

"I'm gonna kill all of you, I'm not gonna leave any single of you to live in this city! For the ones you had ruined their lives!"

Then he started to laugh and said:

"Well, I don't think so..."

Then Selina looked angrily to him and surprised and he continued:

"You're really in a bad situation now... For say so, and I think your friends will be there too, since our best snippers found them coming over here..." then he gave her a smirk

"What?! What do you mean with that?!"

"I mean, it's really over for you all vigilants..." said him and approaching to her. "Do you think the Roman is really idiot, huh?! Don't you think he already knew you guys would find it as an ambush and would plan it better and quickly?! Your friends are already coming here to save you, but I think our snippers are gonna kill them first!"

After that, he appointed to them and she looked at it.

The Batman was right there in the target of the snippers along with Jim Gordon and the FBI Agent and all the team.

"It's over for you! You all are gonna die! This is what happens to the ones who tries to get along the way of the Roman Empire. It only comes back stronger and stronger! Hail, to the Roman Empire! Hail, to the Roman!" said him giving a laugh.

On the other side, some killometrs away, there was Batman, The FBI Agent and his team and Jim Gordon getting ready to go right in the encounter of the Roman. then the FBI agent:

"So, here's the plan, you're going to see what they want to..."

In the same time some agents started to get in contact with the FBI agent:

"Sir..."

Then the FBI listened some screams on the other side of the walkie talkie, then he asked:

"What happened, agent?!"

In the same time he got scaried and then Batman looked right up: there was a snipper right in their direction.

At the same time he said to the FBI agent:

"Stay back!"

Then the FBI agent looked surprised and got a headshot.

Afterwards, the FBI agents retreaded and then it started a massive fireshot.

Meanwhile, Selena quickly hitted some of the henchmen on the arm and started to attack the others guards.

Then, Milos screamed:

"Kill her, your idiots!"

The guards, immediately started to attack, Selina and she started to laugh and defended herself against the henchmen.

"Meow!" said her to the guards.

Meanwhile, the FBI agents started to get in defensive against the attacks of the henchmen's riffles.

Immediately, the Batman looked to Jim Gordon and saw he got shoted on the shoulder and was loosing so much blood lying down on the floor.

Then, Jim Gordon said to him:

"Don't worry about me, kid, just fight for yourself!"

So, he had an idea to attack from behind the snipers.

Discretly, he started to run in the direction of the guards and then saw a pipe where he could put his narrow around it. So he made it quickly and then went where the snippers were hidden.

After that, he beaten the first sniper and then throw his batrang against the another one and then throw massive explosives on the floor hiden on his gloves against the others henchmen.

Afterwards, the snippers were defeated, so he looked around and saw there all the other FBI agents died, he was the only survivor there alongside with Jim Gordon who was injuried.

In the other hand, Selina was fighting off against the others henchmen, so in the end, the last one who survived was Milos Grandpa which was angry. So, she said in a sarcastic tone:

"Looks like the, cat has eaten your tongue. Hahahhahaha. Meow! Who gave the last laugh now, your bastard?! I'm gonna defeat you!"

"Go, ahead your bitch! Try to defeat me! No one can beats the Roman Empire!"

"Owwn, looks like he got mad... How pitty..."

Then she run into his direction to attack him with hers claws.

At the same time she was running right throught his direction, someone threw off a smoke granade from there.

Some minutes later, she got uncionsious and then he started to bleed a lot and tried to pick his knife injured.

So, she came closer around him and hurted his arm making it bleed and he said:

"Your bitch... Do you think you can defeat me?!"

"Now your gonna pay for your sins, your rapist!"

Then he started to scream a lot of hard and she said:

"You know, my mother and my dad were really amazing people, until you and your crime family disgracee it! I still remember it like it was yesterday, her screams and you and your men approaching to her, raping her and murdering her in cold blood..."

So, she started to cry remembering it and hurted him a lot.

Then she said to him:

"So, who's your boss?! Huh?! 'Cause I know it's not you... Tell me, now!"

Then throwing blood, he said:

"Never!"

So, she started to torturing him and approaching into his genitalia and said:

"Well, maybe we can do this in a better way, tell me now or it seems your little boy here is gonna be gone..."

"Never, your bitch! You'd never be capable to do this!"

"How dare you..." she said in a sarcastic way.

So, then she started to cut off his genitalia, made him scream a lot, then he said:

"Ok, ok, I'm gonna tell you, but please don't do this to me..." so, he started to cry and begged for mercy.

"So, tell me, now!" said her with an angry voice.

Then, he started to cry and said:

"Look, I'm sorry for your mother, but please, don't tell to the cops I've told you this..."

"What are you waiting for, your idiot?! Huh?! Wanna lose it?!"

"Ok, ok, I'm gonna tell you... It's Carmine Falcone..."

In the time he said that, he got shot on his head ended up dying.

When Selina turned around, she's seen all the other henchmen's corpses, who she had fighted against, lying down on the floor.

Afterwards, one figure started to walk around her.

Then she screamed:

"Who's it?!"

"Well, well, well. Really impressive, Selina Kyle..."

Then the figure appeared there.

It was someone masked with a lot of bullets in his chest and using an armour.

When Selina saw it, she got really surprised and recognized who it was: it was Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, the profissional assassin hired by the League of Shadows.

So, she said nervously:

"What are you doing here?!"

"You know, I'm sorry for ending up with your horror show, but he was already annoying me..." then he pointed on the floor and looked right on the Milos Grandpa's corpse. "What am I doing here? Well, master really missed you... You were his favorite daughter... How dare you betraying him?!"

Then she climbed in position of combat and said:

"I've never betrayed him..."

"Well, that's not what it seems... Escaping from the village without killing everyone, then leaving the League of Shadows without any explication? You should've had at least a little bit of compassion for him and for everything he's done to you..."

Then she looked to him and he continued:

"Now, it seems your debt is gonna get paid with blood, Carmine firstly hired me and put your head and Bruce's too with a debt of US$1.000.000, but I found it too poor, and then master hired me to kill you two with a debt of US$500.000.000, so I considered it..."

Afterwards he continued:

"So, it's time to die, Selina... I'm sorry, child..."

In the same instant Bruce appeard and screamed:

"Catwoman..."

Then both of them turned around and she screamed to him:

"Bruce..."

"Well, looks who appeared here..."

Then she screamed:

"Run! He's from the League of Shadows! He's chasing after us!"

Then, Deathstroke started to shot right in direction of Selina, but she deviates from it.

So, he picked two knifes and threw off right on her direction.

One of them hit her on the leg, but she started to run and he said:

"You can't run of me, Selina!"

Then the Batman tries to defend her with a batrang, but quickly he deviated from them and shot Bruce on the stomach.

"Bruce!" then she screamed scaried.

So, he looked at her and said:

"Selina..."

"It's impossible to defeat him! Run!"

So, she deviates from Deathstroke and he started to tries to her with his another gun.

Then she went off right in direction of Bruce and asked to him:

"Are you hurt?!"

And he said to her:

"Just a little bit..."

"Ok, let's get out of here, now!"

Then both started to move, when Deathstroke threw off a grande right on theirs directions.

So, Selina picked Bruce and quickly deviates from the granade, ending up hiden in an alley with him.

Then, Slade started to chasing around him and started saying:

"Well, well, little kids, it's time to stop the hide-and-seek. Show where you are right now or things will get really ugly..."

So, he took his grenade launcher off, and pointed to the alley where they were hiden.

After that, Bruce started to get nervous and she said:

"Shhhhh don't worry, darling..."

"So are you gonna appear or not?! I'm gonna shot you!"

Then, they started to get nervous and Slade said:

"Last warning! Not gonna warn again!"

Afterwards, some quiet time, he said:

"Well, say goodbye to your lives, vigilants! The Roman Empire sent his regards..."

So, at this point, Selina attacked him, making his granade launcher fell on the floor and he picked his sword and tried to attack Selina.

Then, after desviates from a lot of attacks with the knife, she blocked one of his attacks and received a punch by the Deathstroke on the face.

"Now, I'm gonna kill you, Cat lady!"

So, Bruce showed up injunred and then attacked Deathstroke, but he deviates and put Bruce on the floor.

Right in this point, Selina screamed:

"Bruce!"

So, Deathstroke started to choke him and said:

"Now, you're gonna to die, Bat boy!"

Then, Bruce almost dying said to Deathstroke:

"Not this time..."

So, he pushed a button and immediately his Batmobile appeared and pushed Deathstroke on the water.

Then, Selina injured woken up and saw Bruce and asked:

"Are you ok?"

"Yes, thanks, Selina..."

Then, both entered on the Batmobile and left the scene with Deathstroke defeated with all of Carmine Falcone's guards.
