Calamity: 100 Years Later Chapter 2: The Big Reveal

Link had just stepped out of the magnesis shrine and collected a Spirit Orb. All he had to do now was find the other shrines located on the Great Plateau. The sun was shining brightly upon Hyrule, with birds chirping and animals running about through the grassy plains of Hyrule and on the Great Plateau.

Link was walking along the Great Plateau, when he spotted something in the distance. It was a horde of Bokoblins gathered around a campfire with grilled meat, wooden clubs, wooden shields, arrows, etc.

Seeing this as an opportunity to use his axe to defeat some monsters, Link took his chance and ran straight to the Bokoblins, who all gathered their weapons and began attacking, missing with each swing. Link managed to defeat all the Bokoblins and collected the weapons and meat, storing them inside the Sheikah Slate.

"At least now I've got some good food and some new weapons. Now time to find the other shrines.", Link thought to himself. All of a sudden, Link spotted a shrine in the distance.

He walked up to the shrine, and put the Sheikah Slate on the pedestal. It opened the shrine and he walked into the shrine, and was lowered down into a room.

Link noticed another pedestal inside the shrine and put the Sheikah Slate in it. The machine dropped a liquid, adding two bomb runes to his Sheikah Slate.

Link then noticed two stone blocks blocking the way of the room he was in. Link used the bomb rune to spawn a bomb and detonated it, revealing two pathways that were also blocked by stone bricks.

Link destroyed the stone bricks using the bomb rune, and found a treasure chest with a traveler's claymore. He added it to the Sheikah Slate.

Link walked through the pathway finding more stone bricks to detonate. Link used the bomb rune and placed a bomb on a floating platform and let it float over to the stone bricks. Link detonated the bomb, destroying the bricks and leading to an area with launchers.

Link put a bomb near one of the launchers and detonated the bomb after it reached the other side. Link then opened the cage revealing the statue. The statue spoke, saying, "Your resourcefulness in overcoming this trial speaks to the promise of a hero. I award you with this Spirit Orb.".

The statue then said, "May the goddess smile upon you.", and vanished into thin air. Link then walked out of the shrine. Two down, two to go. Link then walked around the Great Plateau finding a giant stone. It looked odd and out of place. Suddenly, the ground started shaking. The stone lifted itself out of the ground revealing a body. It was none other than a Stone Talus.

Link noticed the weak point on the Talus was a rock. So he climbed onto the Talus and swung the woodcutter's axe to damage the Talus. In the end, Link defeated the Talus and won luminous stones.

Link then walked to the next shrine. After putting the Sheikah Slate up to the pedestal, Link walked in and was taken into a room with moving gears and a pedestal similar to the other two shrines.

Link put the Sheikah Slate up to the pedestal, and it dropped the same liquid as the tower and the other two shrines did. The rune added was that of Stasis.

Link used the Stasis rune to stop the gears and moved to the next part of the shrine. A machine was dropping boulders which fell down the pit of the shrine.

Link took the chance to use the Stasis rune to freeze the boulder, allowing him to get by the the boulder and up to an area with a chest, housing a traveler's shield. Link added the shield to his inventory and went to the last part of the shrine.

Link used the Stasis rune and hit the boulder blocking the path on the bridge with the traveler's claymore. The boulder went flying and Link was able to walk up to the statue's cage.

The statue said the same words that the other statues had said and gave Link a Spirit Orb.

Link exited the shrine. He was getting closer to getting the paraglider and getting off the Great Plateau.

Link then walked through some ruins and debris on the Great Plateau finding ancient machinery parts scattered across the debris. Then, Link found a strange machine which shot a laser at him. It was a decayed Guardian, an autonomous soldier built by the Sheikah tribe in order to defeat Calamity Ganon.

Link deflected the laser and ran to the next shrine. Once he found it, he put the Sheikah Slate up to the pedestal and it opened the shrine. Link went in, and found the final rune. It was the rune of Cryonsis, a power that allows people to make blocks of ice appear from the water.

Link put the Sheikah Slate up to the pedestal and got the Cryonis rune added to his Sheikah Slate.

Link used the Cryonis rune to make an ice block appear under a seesaw. The ice block lifted the seesaw, allowing Link to go up and to the cage holding the statue.

After collecting the Spirit Orb, Link walked out of the shrine and noticed the old man was standing outside. "So, I see you've gotten the four Spirit Orbs. Whaddya say you meet me at the Temple on this plateau. I'll give you my paraglider then and reveal who I am.

The old man glided over to the Temple and Link followed after him. Link climbed up the temple and found the old man. The old man took his robe off the reveal King Rhoam Bosphoramus, the long deceased and final king of Hyrule who died in the Calamity 100 years ago.

"Link, I am King Rhoam Bosphoramus. I was the last king of Hyrule 100 years ago before the rise of Calamity Ganon. Long ago, the Sheikah tribe used autonomous soldiers known as the Guardians and the Divine Beasts Ruta, Medoh, Rudania, and Naboris to seal away Calamity Ganon. 1,000 years later, Calamity Ganon's return was imminent, and my daughter Zelda and I grew concerned, so we sent our best knights to work with Sheikah tribe members to excavate the land of Hyrule for these machines. We assembled a league of Hyrule's greatest warriors, known as the Champions. These people were Revali, skilled archer of the Rito tribe and held the power of Revali's Gale, Lady Mipha of the Zora tribe, skilled swimmer and possessor of Mipha's Grace, Urbosa of the Gerudo tribe, a fierce warrior and holder of Urbosa's Fury, and Daruk of the Goron tribe, holder of Daruk's protection. Joining these two champions was my daughter, Princess Zelda, and a young knight who was the princess's appointed knight. That knight, was you Link. You were badly injured in battle and almost died, but were brought by Sheikah men to the Shrine of Resurrection to be revived, which took 100 years to go by. Now that you know the backstory to all of this, there's something I must tell you before I give you my paraglider. You are the hero of Hyrule, and you must head to Dueling Peaks where you can find the Sheikah village known as Kakariko Village. There you will find Impa, elder of the Sheikah tribe. She can tell you all you need to know. You must also journey to each part of Hyrule and scout out shrines to test your skills in combat and puzzle solving. Now that you know this, here is my paraglider in exchange for the Spirit Orbs.", said King Rhoam.

"Thank you, your majesty.", said Link. Link then took the paraglider and jumped off the Great Plateau, gliding down and landed on the ground of Hyrule. Link began to make his journey to Dueling Peaks, while finding some shrines and a couple towers along the way.
