Cassia attempted to calm here people while they were terrified and sick in the caged carriage they were trapped in. She was making sure to comfort anyone who got sick. Held one of her ladies as she sobbed in her fear.
She made sure they all got food and water before her, no matter how much they refused so she had food and water. She wanted to make sure they were ok and safe. Keeping them alive was her main priority.
The carriage stopped for the night. Cassia looked at a solider. "Please. I need to find some thing to help the sick." She told him. "Please let me out so I can search for the things I need if there's things out there." She begged him.
He glared at her and hit the cage to make her shut up.
She glared at him. "You are lucky enough to get blankets, food, and water." He told her before walking away.
All of them made sure they kept their ears hidden. They didn't want them to know they were Fae. Their pointed tipped ears would tell them of such. So, she helped to make sure that everyone's ears were covered somehow.
Cassia watched as two soldiers went to hunt for the meals. She was starving and weak. She went with out to make sure everyone else ate. She heard that Prince Daemon was back at Kings Landing, so that's where they were headed.
"Cassia. You need to eat tonight." Ariadne whispered to her, placing a hand on her princess's arm. Cassia looked at her best friend, who was frowning at her. Worried for her health. "We have no meaning if you aren't alive. We need to make sure you are healthy." Ariadne continued.
"I need to make sure you all are cared for first." Cassia told her as she softly shook her head. "But.." Cassia stopped her from arguing. "I'm your leader. I have to make sure you are all cared for. Put you all before myself." She continued, then gave a soft smile. "I will be alright." She promised a false promise.
Both knew that promise was hollow and false.
When everyone was brought food and water, again, Cassia made sure that everyone was eating. A soldier was watching them. He took some bread and went to the cage. "You there." He called. Cassia looked over, and went over when he waved her over.
He was darker skinned, but he had white hair. He was still a teen. He held the bread out to her. "Eat it in front of me." He ordered. Cassia's sea green eyes looked at him in his own brown eyes.
She took it, and started eating as well.
One of the bigger soldiers came and jerked the kind one away. "What are you doing?" He demanded angerly. "She hasn't eaten anything since we captured them two days ago. I just wanted to make sure everyone survived the travel. I don't think the Prince would like it if we brought one dead to him. And if I know my uncle well, as I do, He won't like it." The boy told his higher up.
The older one glared at him, but knew he had a point. Prince Daemon liked torturing the captives. So, them dying on them before he could, would disappoint him. And that could lead to punishment on the soldiers.
The older one said nothing else, but just walked away. The dark skinned man looked at her once more and gave her a kind smile. He was the one who gave her healing herbs when anyone got sick.
"My name is Laenor. If you need anything else, just call for me." He told her. Cassia's eyes remained on him. "Uncle?" She finally asked when he turned his back on her. He stopped and looked at her.
"Yes. Prince Daemon is one of my uncles. But I am not like him. He's a good man when it comes down to it. But he is feared for a reason. I will give him good words about you all and try to talk him into letting you guys go." He told her as he went back up to her.
Laenor saw she was more hesitant of him now. He frowned. "I am not like them. I was just brought along on my father and uncle's order. To get more knowledge of the army." He told her. "Capturing anyone wasn't on my thoughts when I agreed to do this. I am sorry you all are going through this." He told her. He then handed her his own waterskin.
She took it and drank from it. Her body craved to chug it all down, but she forced herself to stop drinking and hand the skin back. He took it back from her.
"I'll check in on you later again soon." He told her before leaving her there.
Soon, Cassia was awoken by Ariadne. "I think it's time." She whispered. Ariadne felt awful for waking Cassia up. She looked so worn out. So weak. The little food and water she has taken in, wasn't enough for her.
Cassia needed more. But was so stubborn to not do so.
Cassia nodded and sat up. Her body was getting weaker and weaker. But she refused to show it to the guards. Cassia walked the best she could around to check on and comfort the others.
They would be killed soon. If their identities were found out, they would be killed, or worse. She wanted to make sure that her people can be safe before that can happen. She would sacrifice herself before they were harmed.
She refused to let them be harmed.
She would kill anyone who tried.
Even that Rouge Prince.
