This chapter will start to bring in some characters that don't exactly exist in the Riordanverse, more like exist in my headverse, but I would like anyway since who is there left for Percy to defeat?
Last time on The Reborn...
The fates talked in their usual triplet voice;
"Perseus Jackson." He was about to say 'It's Percy,' but held himself back. "You have been resurrected by the Fates to continue your destiny.
The fates, both figuratively and probably literally, stared into his soul, waiting for an answer.
"I.." Percy began, but his voice trailed off, both shocked and disappointed. "What do I need to do now?" His voice was a tad bit annoyed, so anyone who could hear it heard his annoyance.
"You must seek out Pre-Chaos and receive their blessing. This-"
Poseidon interrupted; "Pre-Chaos?" His voice had a certain tint of rage. "There was a being before Chaos herself, and we were not told?"
The fates' synchronized heads turned to him. "We believed it was best you were not told, as some of you Olympians may seek them out to have their power, and instead destroy the world in trying."
It was Percy's turn. "But why do I have to do this?" He swore he could see the light in their eyes turn a shade darker, as if they were rolling their eyes.
"Because, Perseus Jackson, you are one of the many heroes before you who are chosen to help balance out fate. You are more powerful than most because you are needed to be. The car accident you died in was not an accident. It was an assassination, disguised as a common pure mortal incident. Forces stronger than Chaos, and yes, forces, are gathering. Your destiny is more glorious than any others, even the gods. You will receive a prophecy from the Oracle of Delphi, and be on your way in at most four weeks, allowing for time to tell your relatives and friends of your return to life." The fates then disappeared in a flash bigger than the gods' flashes.
"I think I'll go get a shirt on." And Percy left the stunned group to their own senses.
