Woodland Copper

This is a poem fic about Ann from Harvest Moon. This is the second in

the Harvest Moon girl poems.

The silence of the woods lingers frozen in the air

Your quiet breath penetrates the stillness

The harsh rays of the noon sun shimmer on your skin

Strands of hair stick to your sweaty cheek when you shift

Crakling leaves fly in the sudden breezes

The gold, red, and brown leaves dance in the sky

You creep closer to the rabbit that is your goal

His nose twitching nervously as you draw near

A potato from long ago in yuor outstreched hand

The rabbit hops closer and begins to nibble on the treat

Your face is more radient than the glowing leaves

As you smile gently at the hungry rabbit

I watch your act of kindness from the bushes

Captivated by your smile, a warm ray of sun

The hot light shines through the trees, scorching the air

Your hair burns like hot molten metal, woodland copper

And I watch as you sit there in echoing silence

Knowing you've captured my heart.
