After getting some useful information from Rouge the Bat, who had a history of thievery of her own. They were at Central City's largest bank the place was known to have. Team Chaotix were on the lookout as they looked around the area. The bank has multiple large money vaults containing money mostly from the folks that live in Central City.
Security was on high alert once Team Chaotix gave the info to the bank owner that the infamous Bonanza Bros were planning to hit their bank next. Security was everywhere by the entrances, exits, and bathrooms. The same could be said in the second floor of the bank.
Team Chaotix stood inside the bank as the place went on its usual business for people still to deposit or withdraw to their bank accounts. Admittedly it got boring seeing to wait around, but luckily the bank soon started to close as the sky was turning into a night sky. Team Chaotix we're inching to get some action and hope they can catch the two brother criminals before the security could get them.
As soon as the last person went to deposit their check and the last of the employees that helped the bank keep at float. The place soon went into a deep silence until Vector spoke to his friends.
"Looks like it's a good time we all split up." The crocodile said.
"Why do we gotta split up?" Asked Charmy, confused by Vector's sudden decision.
"I gotta agree with Charmy here, just why?" Espio asked.
"If we managed to catch the Bonanza Bros ourselves. Think of all the money we can get for ourselves." Vector said, excitedly.
"I suppose splitting up could give us more of an advantage against the security team." Espio said to himself.
Mighty nodded, "Well, if we're splitting up. Honey and I will go to the second floor to see if they come through there." The armadillo said, suggesting.
"Yeah! We're gonna catch those fiends ourselves!" Honey said, determined.
Mighty and Honey looked at each other and nodded, determined to catch the Bonanza Bros on their own. Before the two could take a step away from the gang. Vector places his hands on both the armadillo and cat, stopping them from leaving.
"Oh no you two don't." Vector said to them.
"What's the problem Vector?" Honey asked.
"I need everyone to be on their own. That means you two as well. Look I support you two's relationship as much as the next guy, but I can't have you two lovebirds getting distracted while on the case." Vector explained.
The armadillo took the crocodile's hand off his shoulder and frowned. "Oh come on Vector, both me and Honey are determined to catch these guys. Right Honey?" He said.
Mighty and Vector looked over to see Honey holding up a makeup pocket mirror. The feline was carefully putting on red lipstick on her lips. Honey stopped when she saw Mighty and Vector looking at her. The armadillo was stunned and was madly blushing seeing how Honey looked pretty with lipstick on while Vector was just tapping his foot in annoyance at the cat.
"Oh of course! I wasn't planning to take Mighty with me to the nearest broom closet to make out with him or anything. Hahaha!" She laughed nervously hiding her pocket mirror behind her back.
Mighty nervously looked back at Vector who then pointed the direction of where he wanted him to look around in the second floor and commanded Honey to look around the first floor.
Both the armadillo and cat were saddened as they went their separate ways not before leaving with the walkie-talkies that Vector provided for everyone.
Time went on as the outside world went dark as the moon was the only thing bright in the sky. On the bottom floor were Honey, Charmy, Ray, and Vector while patrolling the upper floor were Epsio and Mighty.
Vector was looking outside of a window to see anything suspicious. "Anyone caught anything out of the norm?" He spoke into his walkie-talkie.
Epsio was walking around the second floor and responded, not keeping his eyes off the scene as he lifted up his walkie-talkie. "Everything looks fine at my end, what about you guys?"
"Same here."
"No problems."
"All good."
"It's not good!" Charmy responded with an opposite answer than the rest.
"What's wrong, Charmy?" Espio asked.
"This stupid vending machine ate my dollar and now my Chaos Cola stuck!" The young bee complained.
"Charmy focus! We need everyone's cooperation! That means you too!" Vector said, angrily yelling at his device.
"I know but I can't focus with a dry throat. That Chaos Cola was calling my name and this vending machine is keeping it away from me."
Some members of Team Chaotix chuckled at Charmy's boyish behavior while some just frowned and rolled their eyes.
Charmy just frowned as he kept looking at his stuck soda. He tried his best to shake the machine so his drink could fall off. The young bee let out a small gasp of air for the shaking wore him out.
"Darn it, still no progress." Charmy said.
"Mind if I give it a try?" Said an unknown voice behind Charmy.
Charmy didn't even bother to look at the person behind him for he was both angry and frustrated to look away from his stuck beverage. "Sure dude go ahead." He said.
Charmy kept looking at the vending machine until the mysterious person hit the machine with his elbow. The soda can suddenly fall off much to Charmy's happiness. The young bee gasped in joy and quickly grabbed his soda from the small door. He drank his soda after immediately grabbing it and let out a loud happy sigh now that his throat was no longer dry.
The bee looked over to the man who helped, who appeared to be a small man bald with sunglasses and a blue shirt. The man was holding what seems to be a large white bag and his other hand was holding a popgun weapon.
"Woah thanks mister! If I didn't get my drink any longer I would've died of thirst!" Charmy yelled happily.
The short man smiled and finger pointed at the young bee. "Heheh no problem kiddo. I hate when that sorta things with vending machines. I usually just break the glass but I don't want to make any loud noises at the moment." He said.
"If only I had the strength to do that hahaha." Charmy joked.
"Anyways enjoy your drink kid, by the way do you know where the nearest money vault is? I gotta get back to work and I have less than three minutes to do so." The short man in blue asked while looking at his watch.
"Yeah I believe there's one right behind the corner." Charmy pointed the way.
"Just wonderful! Thanks a lot my bee friend." He said, salute Charmy and walked away.
Charmy watched the short guy walk away in a funny manner. "What a weird guy. If I didn't know any better I say it sounded like he was robbing the ba-"
The young bee's widened for he just remembered what the description of the Bonanza Bros that Rouge told him and the rest Team Chaotix. Charmy stopped drinking his soda as he then looked around his area carefully. He saw multiple security guards knocked out on the floor.
Never in Charmy's life has he ever seen so many people on the floor around him. The can of soda in Charmy's hand fell off making a loud thud noise on the ground as the leftover spilled all over the floor. Charmy got back his senses and quickly floor over to where Mobo, younger sibling of the Bonanza Bros was at.
Once he arrived, Charmy was taken by surprise that the money vault was open and the cash inside were all taken away, swiped clean from the scene.
"Mayday mayday! Do you guys copy!" Charmy yelled on walkie-talkie.
The first one to respond was Vector. "Yes? Was it Charmy?" He asked.
"It's them! One of them is here and he already took the money from the vault!" He answered.
"What?!" Everyone yelled.
"How did they even get in?!" Honey asked.
Ray, who was walking around the entrance of the bank on the first floor, saw a door wide open with a security guard on the floor, knocked out cold. "Guys, I think they managed to trick one of the security guards to open the door for them." He answered.
"Wow they literally enter through the front door." Charmy said, in disbelief.
Ray was about to answer until he saw Mobo, the young brother that Charmy accidentally encountered before, take out two of the security guards with a pop gun as they fell flat on the floor.
"Guys I saw one of them, I'm gonna catch him." Ray said, with a cocky look.
Meanwhile up the second floor, Mighty was high alert looking around carefully now knowing the Bonanza Brothers were now in the building. He had his fist up and his walkie talkie ready to pinpoint the location.
Unaware, the older brother, Robo, was hiding behind the wall that Mighty passed him. The tall guy in the red shirt smirked as he then took out his popgun and aim at the armadillo.
With a steady aim he shot his popgun and managed to hit Mighty on his back. Due to the power of the popgun, Mighty fell but wasn't badly injured at all since the bullet from the popgun only hit his hard armadillo shell.
Robo once again aimed for the armadillo and shot his popgun, hoping it would knock the armadillo out cold. As the cylinder ball was heading towards the armadillo, it was deflected by a ninja shooting star thrown by Espio, saving the armadillo in time.
Not wanting to stick around any longer, Robo fled the scene with his stack of cash in the bag. Espio went to his armadillo and helped him back up to his feet.
"You okay?" Espio asked.
"Yeah I'm fine, I was caught off guard." Mighty said, rubbing the spot on his shell he was hit.
"Let's go before they get away." Epsio said, as Mighty nodded.
Back on the first floor, Ray was running towards where Mobo ran off to. Ray picked up the pace when he saw a shadow up head coming his way around the corner.
Ray smiled, "Looks like he's coming this way. This is my chance." He said.
The flying squirrel ran even harder as he turned around the corner. He bumped into someone which made him fall to the ground. He looked to see that it was Honey that he bumped into who looked a bit annoyed.
"Honey?!"
"Ray?!"
"What are you doing?" Ray asked.
"What am I doing? I was just following Mobo coming this way." She answered.
"Me too, I saw him coming this way as well." Ray said.
"Eh! Heh! Heh! Looking for me?" Said a voice.
Ray and Honey looked over to see Mobo standing on a podium with a proud smirk. Around him were more security guards knocked down. He was swinging around his popgun a in playful manner as he held his bag of cash in the other.
"You guys are making this too easy for us. We expected more from the famous Team Chaotix." He taunted.
"You and your brother aren't getting away with that cash." Honey yelled.
"Says who? The law? The law is just some rules that are meant to be broken." Mobo said, smirking.
As Mobo was taunting the cat and flying squirrel. Vector was behind the short man with his arms stretched out to grab a hold of Mobo. Without looking, Mobo did a funny looking side flip of the podium he was on, making Vector miss his target.
"Arg! I almost had him." Vector cursed.
Mobo snicker at the three, "Well it was nice meeting with ya! As much as I love to stick around and taunt you guys even more. I gotta meet up with my big bro Robo with the cash I stole." He laughed.
The short man in blue laughed and ran away from the scenery. Charmy soon appeared with the rest wondering what happened before he arrived.
"Guys! Did we get him!?" Charmy asked.
"Not yet! We gotta catch them before it's too late." Vector said.
"For a short guy he moves pretty quick." Honey said, a bit impressed.
The gang wasted no time as they headed in the direction of where Mobo went off too. Hoping they can catch him at a dead end.
Back with Mighty and Espio managed to reach the area where Robo was at. It was too late as Robo put the last of the cash in his bag. The tall brother gave a taunting greeting at the armadillo and chamaeleon.
"Eh! Heh! Heh! Too late boys! I cleared this vault empty." He laughed and mocked. "Well I'm off! Gotta meet my young bro!"
Before leaving, Robo shoots more cylinder balls from his popgun at a rapid rate of the two. Mighty and Espio stood their ground as Mighty used his raw strength of his fist to deflect the cylinder balls while Espio dodged and used more his shooting stars deflect them.
While they were distracted, Robo left a parting gift as he rolled a specific ball over to Mighty and Espio as they were too busy to notice it. By the time the ball roll over to them. It was too late to react as the ball exploded, revealing to be a smoke bomb.
Using the opportunity, Robo ran off leaving Mighty and Epsio coughing for air. The boys didn't stick around too long as they soon persuaded over the tall man in red.
Robo was looking back with a smirk seeing where he left Mighty and Espio as he was running in the hallway. He looked ahead to see his younger brother Mobo with his stash of cash with him. The brothers smirked at each other, seeing they finally got the cash they needed as they meet face to face.
"Nice work little brother." Robo said, looking down at his sibling.
"Thanks brother. It was a cakewalk." He responded.
"Now then, let's get outta here and make plans to hit that millionaire mansion next." He suggested.
"You got it big bro!" Mobo said, happily.
Robo looked over his young brother's shoulder as saw Vector, Honey, Ray and Charmy heading their way. Mobo did the same and saw Mighty and Espio heading their way as well.
"But first we gotta lose these guys bro." Mobo said.
"No duh! Come let's take this door to the roof." Robo said.
Mobo nodded, following his older brother to the door. Team Chaotix finally re grouped together, everyone was breathing air as they were tired out from chasing the Bonanza Brothers.
"Looks like we ain't the only chasing them." Mighty joked.
"I wonder why they're going to the roof? It's just a dead end for them isn't it?" Honey said.
Espio widened realizing the reason, "Their blimp! They are gonna escape with their blimp." He said.
"Oh no! They get aboard their blimp and they'll get away completely." Charmy said, worried.
"They ain't leaving us behind that easy! Come one, let's go!" Vector said, opening the door to the stairs.
The group rushed in one by one, went the door. The gang where met with large hallway of stairs. Where they looked up to see the Bonanza Brothers were already at the top level of the stairs and exited the building.
Everyone quickly ran up the stairs, though thankfully Charmy was able to fly up the stairs reaching the door before any else. Charmy tried to open the door, but was locked inside. The bee tried shoulder-bashing the door but it didn't work as his body was too small to burst the door open.
Charmy had no choice but to wait until the rest of his team show up. Which thankfully wasn't too long of a wait as they managed to meet up with the bee.
"Guys, they locked the door!" Charmy informed his friends.
Mighty nodded and stepped up as he burst the door open with his fist. Everyone was always impressed to see Mighty use his strength. Honey on the other hand couldn't help but blush a bit seeing how strong the armadillo could be sometimes.
Once the door was gone, they rushed outside of the building's rooftops. They were expecting to blimp in the sky but yet there was none to be seen. Team Chaotix looked around all over the sky to see the Bonanza Brothers and their blimp, the only thing there was the night sky and the stars.
"Did they leave?" Honey said, looking around.
"I don't see their blimp!" Said Ray, feeling anxious.
"Darn it they escape!" Vector said.
"No they didn't." Epsio said.
"How so?" Mighty asked his friend.
"If they did manage to escape we would still be able to see their blimp, even from the distance since blimps don't move too fast." He explained.
Espio rubbed his chin, "Something tells me that they are still here, I think they have a-"
Before Espio could finish his sentence. - loud noise could be heard from the bottom of the outside building. The group walked towards the edge of the roof and saw Robo and Mobo together with their Get-a-Way Wagon. Mobo put the bags of money in the trunk as Robo was getting the car all fired up. Once the money was put away, Mobo hopped on to his seat. The two brothers looked up at Team Chaotix with smirks.
"You guys thought we would use our old blimp to get away huh?" Robo mocked.
"We got rid of that old thing back in the 90's for this sweet ride right here." Mobo said, tapping the side of the car.
"Sayonara chums!" Robo yelled before hitting the gas pedal, leaving a smoke trail behind as he and his brother high five.
"Ah crud!" Ray facepalm, seeing the two criminals get away.
"They are getting away from us. We still have the Vectormobile!" The crocodile said, proudly.
"Looks like we're going for a high speed car chase. Oh! That sounds exciting!" Honey said, containing her excitement.
Seeing there was no time to take the stairs back. Each member jumped off the building their way, Vector, Espio and Mighty slid down the nearest drain pipe to reach the ground while Ray and Charmy flew down with Honey gliding down with them thanks to her angel wings on her back. They ran towards the Vectormobile and soon drove as they headed the same way as the Bonanza Brothers.
The chase was on, the gang were able to catch up to them on the streets. They avoided the countless cars blocking their way making sure they don't get hit to slow down. The loud sounds of their Vehicles' wheels squealing could be heard with the turning they make, leaving behind tire tracks on the roads.
Mobo caught a glimpse of the Team's vehicle in the rear view. "Quite the persisting ones aren't they bro?" He said.
"Don't worry little brother, we'll lose them on the freeway. You still got those "special items" that we have?" Robo said, with a raised eyebrow.
"Sure do." Mobo said, with a cheeky grin.
"Come on Vector go faster! We're almost gaining them!" Charmy yelled.
"Don't you think I know that!" Vector yelled back.
Before Vector can get any closer to the vehicle. The Bonanza Brothers made sharp drift with their car making them take the lane on the freeway.
"The freeway huh? We might have a good opportunity." Ray said.
"Something doesn't feel right." Espio said, with concern.
"Well it should be easy to catch them. There's hardly any other cars this late in the day." Vector said.
The chase continued on the freeway. It was a much open place as the two vehicles to keep going straight. Vector was focus his eyes the criminal's car not wanting to lose site of them.
The crocodile shifted into high gear making everyone hold tight to their seat belts. As the gang were getting close, Mobo carefully stood from his seat. The gang were confused by the young brother's sudden movement.
Mobo then pulled a bag and took what seems to be a bomb. Without hesitation he threw the bomb straight at the Vectormobile. Everyone's eyes widen seeing the incoming bomb heading their way.
"Oh snap!" Vector yelled.
With his sweet driving skills, Vector drifted the car the left as the bomb exploded on impact on ground, making a huge black spot on the ground of the freeway.
Ray looked back at the spot where the bomb exploded through back windows of the van. He swallowed his saliva having feared that could have been him and his friends just now if it wasn't for Vector's driving skills.
"That was close!" Honey said, holding a hand on her beating heart.
"It's not over yet." Epsio frowned.
The gang looked and saw multiple bombs heading their ways all ready to blow them off the streets. Vector kept his confidence and tried not to lose his cool for the sake of his team's life.
"Everyone hang on! It's gonna get bumpy!" Vector warns his friends.
With his skillful driving, Vector did his best as he avoid each of the incoming bomb. He drifted left to right and speeded up and slowed down. There was a close call when there was a bomb that exploded in front of the road of ahead of them that Vector drove by leading them to safety, though they were near the radius of where the bomb exploded causing their van to jump a bit in the air.
Mobo didn't stop there however, he still kept throwing bombs at a rapid pace trying to either lose Team Chaotix completely or destroy their vehicle. Vector couldn't help but growl for he was getting really annoyed by the bombs. The more he dodge them the more it slowed him and kept him away from the Bonanza Brothers.
"At this rate if they keep throwing bombs at us we'll never catch them." Mighty said, frustrated.
Espio then thought of a idea, making his head turn to look his green boss. "Vector keep the van steady and don't lose sight of them." He said.
"What's the plan?" Vector said, curious.
"Just watch. Keep driving." The Chamaeleon said, scooting over to the window on his passenger seat.
Espio stuck out his body from the window as he looked to see the incoming bombs in the air. He looked at them carefully to measure their size and distance. From his hammer space, he out took some shooting stars and threw them at the bomb making them explode in the air before hitting the ground making a white clouds in the sky.
"Woah! Way to go! That was so awesome!" Charmy praised his friends
"It's not over yet!" Vector informed his friend.
More bombs were present even more than before, but Epsio was prepare as his ninja mind told him to be. With his precise aim he once again manage to hit every bomb in the air making more smoke.
Mobo kept at it with the bomb throwing and Espio kept destroy them with his shooting stars. From a distance the civilians of Central City thought that someone was putting up a firework show on the freeway. Little did they know it was coming from a heart racing car chase between Team Chaotix and The Bonanza Brothers.
The Vectormobile was once again getting near the Bonanza's car. Robo couldn't help but grit his teeth for he didn't think Team Chaotix would get this annoying for them. Espio watched carefully as Mobo took out another bomb.
The moment the bomb was visible in Epsio's eyes, with faith and hope, he threw his shooting star with great force and knocked the bomb off of Mobo's hand, making yell out in pain.
"Oh no." Robo said, seeing his brother drop the bomb near their car.
The bomb exploded and since their vehicle was close the exploding radius. Their car jumped into the high air doing uncontrollable flips. The Bonanza Brothers couldn't help but scream and hold each other as they were flipping in the air with their car. Their seatbelts soon came off making them fall in the air as their car made impact when it hit the floor.
The two brothers were holding each tight as they brace for impact themselves.
"It was nice working with you bro!"
"Me too bro!"
"I love you bro!"
"Same bro!"
"We should have become plumbers!"
The two close brothers let out a frightful scream. The two stopped screaming when they saw Ray and Honey flying towards them. Ray and Honey smiled and nodded as they pulled out a rope. Together they flew around the falling brothers and tied them up with the rope.
Once the brothers were tied up, Ray and Honey gently tied the end of the rope to a streetlight near a road as they hung the brothers. Ray and Honey smiled and handshake in a job well done tying up the infamous brother. Soon came Vector and the others as they saw Ray and Honey with the Bonanza Bros behind them tied to the streetlight.
"Awesome job you two!" Mighty praised both the work of his girlfriend and his little brother as he exited the Vectormobile.
"We did an awesome job huh Ray?" Honey said, looking at the squirrel.
"Yeah we did! Those Bonanza Brothers would be Flatnanza Brothers if we didn't save them." Ray joked.
Both Robo and Mobo both moan at how horrible the pun was. Ray just shrugged his shoulders. Vector looked at his team with a happy look.
"Nice job everyone! Because of all of you. We managed to capture the infamous Bonanza Brothers!" Vector praised his team.
Espio looked at the Vectormobile, "I guess getting this large vehicle wasn't a a waste after all." He said, rubbing the van.
"It's thanks to your driving skills, Vector! How did you learn how to drive like that?" Charmy asked.
"I just played a lot of Virtua Racing back in the arcade days." He admitted, blushing and rubbing the back of his head.
"Well then, let's take these guys to the authorities and get our reward." Charmy said, excitedly.
Espio nodded and cut the strings that were holding up the Bonanza Brothers from the streetlight, making them fall while still tied up with the rope around their bodies. Mighty picked up Robo up to his feet while Ray picked up Mobo.
Mobo looked at his older brother. "Hey Robo?" He said, in a defeated tone.
"Yeah?" Responded Robo.
"I read about prison."
"And?"
"It ain't fun." He said, frightened.
As Mighty and Ray were getting ready to put away the two brothers in the vehicle. Vector stopped them before they could do so.
"Why are you stopping us Vector?" Mighty asked.
"Before we hand them over to the authorities. I wanna make a quick stop somewhere first." Vector said, giving a devious smile at the two brothers.
Everyone was confused as they looked at each other, even the brothers themselves, wondering what the crocodile had in store for them. Yet somehow they knew it wasn't something they would like to begin with.
At Club Rouge
"OH MY GOSH!"
A yell coming from the jewel thief herself as in front of her was Bonanza Brothers, stilled tied up the rope from Ray and Honey used on them. Rogue was flying around the brothers in joy, finally being able to meet the criminals that inspired her to become a thief in the first place.
"I can't believe the Bonanza Brothers are here at my Club! This is too good to be true!" Rouge screamed.
From the distance, Vector and the rest of Team Chaotix were watching from their table seeing Rouge be the fangirl she is over Robo and Mobo.
"You sure it was a good idea to bring them here?" Espio asked.
"Well it's the least we could do for Rouge. If she didn't give us the info we wouldn't be able to catch them in the first place. Besides, she's giving free food and drinks for bringing her heroes here." Vector said, kicking back and relaxing on his seat.
Espio rolled his eyes as he looked at everyone else devouring their meals and drinks after working hard to catch the brothers. "I suppose you're right." He said, before taking a bite of his meal.
As Team Chaotix were enjoying their food and drinks. Rouge kept on asking the Bonanza Brothers questions about how to improve her thieving skills. The brothers couldn't help but feel annoyed by all the questions Rouge was asking them and just wished that they were taken to the authorities so they don't have to hear Rouge's questions.
Rouge looked over to see that Team Chaotix was too busy with their meals and drinks as she leaned in to whisper to them.
"Don't worry guys, I'll help you guys break out of prison. Just promise me that I can join you guys with the next big heist. I can be a big help." The bat said, giving a wink to the brothers.
Robo and Mobo were shocked by the offer but smiled evilly seeing that their thieving career is yet to be over thanks to the help of Rouge. Team Chaotix may have one this round, there were more cases for them to face off in the future.
