Quinn had lied about that night at 5 being the weekly meeting of Christ Crusaders, which was the school's celibacy club. The club never had meetings at Quinn's or ran that late but she didn't want to let on what her plans were to anyone. Her parents were out of town and she wanted to spend some 'quality time' with Finn, so had played it off as a celibacy club meeting. She had promised him the next time her parents were out of town, that maybe they would have their first time but the more Quinn thought about what Grace had said, that she might not be pregnant and something else could be seriously wrong, the more worried she got that she could give Finn something if things went any further between them.
She truly loved Finn, he was her first love, the first guy to ever truly make her feel special and worth it. Finn was also Quinn's first ever boyfriend, not that she would admit that to anyone. She wanted to keep up the facade that she had always been thoroughly seeked after, that every guy had wanted to date her but she only chose a select few to be with her but that was far from the truth. In what felt like another lifetime ago, somebody else's lifetime, Quinn was bullied and teased for having a face full of zits, being chubby, and having mousy brown hair which had faded from her natural blonde color she had been born with.
The taunting sing-songy chant of "Lucy Caboosey" rang in her head anytime she gained back weight.
It had become more frequent lately with the Cheerios weekly weigh-ins as Quinn had been slowly but surely gaining weight, something she was horrified by.
Part of her began to wonder if Finn would still love her if she got fat again. She knew it could be a possibility if she was in fact pregnant. She was terrified of telling him the truth, any version of the truth that was discovered by the tests she was about to take after homecoming week. If it turned out to be an STD, how would she explain that to him? She knew she could have to truly come clean about what happened that night, and would have to hope and pray he would believe her and not take the side of his best friend. She knew the pregnancy would be just as hard, but she could lie and say it was his baby which would make things a lot easier. She wouldn't have to tell the truth of the mistake she made that summer night because she would be putting the baby up for adoption.
She knew realistically, they couldn't raise a baby together. Her parents would most likely disown her or worse if they found out the truth and she knew he and his mom were barely getting by as it was, forget adding a baby into the mix. She also wanted a real chance of getting out of that small town and if she kept the baby she would really be stuck in Lima forever, and that was a fate worse than death for Quinn.
From the time she was young, Quinn knew she didn't want the same small town life her mom had. She didn't want to give up a high-powered career to stay home with her kids. Before her mom had gotten married, she was Fairbrook's top real estate agent, something Quinn admired and had wanted to follow down the same path of, but somewhere with higher end homes like California, Florida, or New York, but once her mom got married, she gave up her career to raise her children, something Quinn couldn't ever see herself doing. She liked kids and wanted a family but at the end of the day, Quinn was a feminist and wanted to be the one to provide for the family, with her future husband's career taking a backseat to take care of the family. Quinn wanted to be a strong, independent woman and didn't want to be tied down to anything, something Finn seemed to really respect about her which made Quinn feel as though he was truly the one for her. She knew it could all come crashing down in flames if the truth of what happened that summer got out and that was quite possibly the last thing she wanted, so, she decided to play the part of the dutiful and faithful girlfriend until she couldn't deny the truth any longer and would have to eventually deal with the consequences.
She heard her doorbell go off and rushed downstairs to meet Finn. "Hey there," Quinn smiled softly at her boyfriend.
"Hi…since when does the celibacy club have meetings at your house," Finn said, slightly confused as Quinn chuckled a bit.
"We don't…it was just a cover. My parents are out of town on a church retreat and I figured it could be the perfect time for us to be alone," Quinn kissed his lips softly.
Finn kissed her back, eagerly, looking forward to spending some time with his girlfriend, having a feeling he knew what her parents being out of town meant. Quinn guided him to the Fabray's study, continuing to kiss him and pull him onto the couch.
The two quickly got into a heated makeout session as they did frequently with Quinn flinching a bit from the sense memory as Finn's hand went down her skirt to her butt. It hadn't been like this in the car, she had felt a lot more open and liberated there. But being in her home with the many portraits of Jesus surrounding her, Quinn couldn't help but feel guilty about what she was even thinking of doing. She pulled away quickly as Finn exhaled, frustratedly.
"I'm sorry," Quinn whispered, upset with herself for stopping things.
"It's okay…I just thought you said you wanted to wait until you know we had your place to ourselves," Finn said trying to be understanding.
"I thought I did…I just can't go through with it Finn," Quinn admitted feeling awful about bringing him into this position.
"Can't or don't want to?" Finn said slightly frustratedly, slowly sitting up himself as Quinn glared at him.
"It's not like that," Quinn said simply.
"Then what is it like?" Finn asked annoyedly, "Honestly Quinn, you've been so hot and cold lately I don't even know what I'm going to get with you."
"I know…and I'm sorry about that," Quinn said seriously, knowing it probably had to do with her hormones being wacky "I just haven't been feeling right…but I'm going to the doctor and after homecoming, I promise, things will get better."
"Okay," Finn nodded, unsure if things would improve.
"Thank you for being so patient with me…I know it's not easy, dating the president of the celibacy club," Quinn said trying to understand his feelings too.
"No, it isn't," he admitted as Quinn sighed, noticing how withdrawn he was getting from her, something that was really starting to make her worry about the status of their relationship.
"I'm so sorry, again. Really…if you just want to go, you can," Quinn said seriously as Finn grabbed his things nodding, almost seeming to want to leave. Something that hurt Quinn's heart even more than ever before.
"See you tomorrow," Finn smiled weakly at her before leaving Fabray Manor, causing Quinn to question everything that she was doing and if she would lose Finn in the process. She certainly hoped she wouldn't but only time would tell.
