Here is chapter 2. I'm so excited to be sharing this story with you all, and I hope you enjoy it.
Two Saiyans and A Miracle
"Hey you two. What are you two talking about?" Bulma questioned a few days later. Her hair was pulled back in a messy pony tail and her eyes were shining, yet she still looked tired. She had been working on the machine all night again and she was ready for a break, but she also wanted them to be able to get to the right time.
Both of the hybrids stopped talking as they glanced over at the scientist. Trunks finally broke the silence when he responded, "Gohan and I were trying to decide how to approach everyone." Trunks wasn't even sure how the others would react, but then he didn't even know them like Gohan did.
A small laugh escaped the woman's lips as she shook her head ruefully. "Oh, don't worry about it, guys. It will be fine. You'll see. You're just thinking too hard." Gohan didn't chime in, choosing instead to look out of the window again. Bulma walked over and gently placed a hand on her late best friend's son's shoulder. "We'll be fine, Gohan. It's better for both of you to go. What if this knuckle head forgets something important, hm? I mean, He does take off quickly like his father did."
Gohan had to laugh at that statement as Trunks seemed to make a face. He relaxed a little bit before he heard commotion outside. "The androids!" he barked out, ready to fight.
Chi-Chi came inside with some groceries, setting them down. "Oh no, you don't. I know that look." But he was already gone. Worry stretched on the woman's face as she stared at the door her son left open. "Oh you are just like Goku. You don't listen to me."
Trunks was determined to go with but a hand stopped him and his eyes were met with a stern look from Bulma. "Trunks, no. I know you want to go out and help, but let's try to get this ready for you two. Gohan will be fine. He's as hard headed as his own dad. Plus he's been around Piccolo so he's even more stubborn. He'll be fine."
Trunks felt the argument rising from his gut but he pushed it down. He knew his mother was right. The sooner they got the machine ready, the sooner they could fix this. He relaxed his fists and nodded, looking out the door. Please return home in one piece, Gohan. We need you.
Gohan was flying at top speed, eyes trained on the explosion. This had gone far enough and he was hoping to take care of them before they left to the past. He landed with a thud and glared at the two androids. "Haven't you done enough damage?" He asked through gritted teeth.
18 tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, a look of amusement on her face as she glanced at her brother. "I was wondering when he was going to shoe up. Looks like we might have more fun after all." 17 smirked at his sister, keeping his arms crossed.
"I think the fun is just beginning," 17 replied as they faced off with the half-saiyan. Gohan didn't budge, anger apparent on his features. After a moment, Gohan yelled out and kicked 17 in the side, before sending a punch in 18's face. They both landed on their feet with a growl before straightening. "That was a free pass," 17 said irritatingly.
"It won't happen again," 18 confirmed as they flew at him. Gohan blocked both of their attempts but let out air when 18 sent her knee into his abdomen. 17's elbow connected with his back and sent him flying into the ground. Without missing a beat, they both charged up ki blasts and sent it his direction.
Gohan moved at the last second to avoid the blasts, catching his breath before returning to the fight. Training with Piccolo was still fresh in his mind, and he was mentally swearing to both him and his father that they would fix this. Somehow.
Raising his hands above his head, Gohan kept his eyes locked on the androids. "Masenko-?!" 18 was instantly in front of him, smiling.
"Cute, you think that's going to work on us?" She sent him flying with a kick to the head, watching with satisfaction as he connected with another building. When he returned to the fight, his hair was blonde and his eyes were a light blue color.
"It's about time he did that," 18 commented dryly. 17 agreed as they returned to their positions. Gohan charged at them which both dodged, each landing a blow to his side. The smile never left their faces, knowing fully well they were toying with him. He skidded on the gravel and grit his teeth. His hope to defeat the androids wasn't going to happen and he knew that now. As they circled him, he thought of a plan. He stood and charged at them again, this time prepared for their counter attack and blocking them successfully. He grabbed his leg and her arm and threw them both towards a building. They were in sync with their spin and landing on their feet. He spread his hands in front of his eyes before yelling, "Solar Flare!"
Both were caught off guard which gave Gohan enough time to slip away from the area. He was trekking on foot further away so he wouldn't get noticed, but he heard them before he saw them. 18 sent a big energy ball at him, 17 copying right after. Both collided with him, and then all he saw was black.
DBZ
Gohan didn't know how much time had passed before he came to, but the pain took over before he had time to figure it out. They managed to hit him pretty good, but he still had everything in tact. And he was alive. Maybe it wasn't the smartest idea to go after them, but he had to do something.
Forcing his eyes to open, he saw the sun had gone down. Crap. He sat up with a wince, knowing everyone was probably going insane not knowing if he was okay. He didn't have enough energy to get back, not like this. He collapsed onto his back, breathing hard. They were getting stronger, and he needed to as well. First, that trip needed to happen.
"Gohan!"
"Hm?" Gohan questioned, before he saw Trunks landing beside him. "Trunks? What are you doing?"
"Looking for you, and it's a good thing I did. Let's go home. Mom will fix you up."
It didn't take long for Trunks to fly them back to the house and both women exclaimed their worry before getting Gohan on a cot.
"What were you thinking, you big oaf? You could have been killed!" Bulma chided, frustrated. Gohan winced as she set to work on him.
"Sorry. I couldn't not do anything-"
"Oh yes you could have, young man. We've been worried sick about you," his mother interfered. "I had to raise such a stubborn child."
Gohan shot her a sheepish grin before stifling a yawn. He was worn out and it was evident on his face. Soon, Bulma finished patching him up and they all went to bed.
Trunks was woken up by Gohan yelling for Piccolo. "I'm not leaving you behind, Piccolo!"
He shot up quickly and rushed to his friend's side. "Gohan," he started.
"I lost my dad. I can't lose you too! Come with me, Piccolo. We can train and we can beat them!"
"Gohan!" Trunks shook the other man awake and was surprised to see the tears brimming in the other one's eyes. Gohan quickly shook it off before sitting up.
Neither had noticed Bulma nor Chi-Chi had rushed in to see what the commotion was all about until Gohan looked around and saw them. He raised his hands sheepishly, his face turning red. "I'm fine, guys. Really."
Bulma was the first to relax. "Well good. Boys, get packing. You're leaving tomorrow."
What will the two half-saiyans find in the past? Is this the last of the nightmares? Will they save the future like they hope? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z: Redemption!
