I'll Say Goodbye to Love

Shinji woke up in his bedroom and looked at his clock.

"Only 7:30?!" he said surprised that he woke up that early. He looked out the window ad noticed it had snowed during the evening. Since it was so beautiful Shinji decided to go for a walk.

"I'll say goodbye to love no one ever cared if I should live or die. Time and time again the chance for love has passed me by and all I know of love is how to live without it. I just can't seem to find it."

Shinji walked down the street looking at a picture of him and Kowaru he carried in his wallet, while thinking of the time he spent with him. Shinji missed him so much he couldn't stand it.

"So I've made my mind up, I must live my life alone and though it's not the easy way I guess I've always known I'd say goodbye to love. There are no tomorrows for this heart of mine. Surely time will lose these bitter memories and I'll find that there is someone to believe in and to live for. Something I could live for."

Shinji had wanted to kill himself, but he knew Kowaru wouldn't want that, so he just held the memories of Kowaru close to his heart. He knew Kowaru was with him all the time watching him from heaven.

"All the years of useless search have finally reached an end. Loneliness and empty days will be my only friend. From this day love is forgotten. I'll go gone as best I can."

Shinji walked down the street tears in his eyes. All of a sudden he felt a presence behind him. He turned around and saw Kowaru. He was shocked!

"What lies in the future is a mystery to us all. No one can predict the wheel of fortune as it falls. There may come a time when I will see that I've been wrong, but for now this is my song. And it's goodbye to love.

"Shinji" Kowaru said smiling "I can't stay long, but I want you know I love you and I'll wait patiently for you're return to me he said placing a kiss on Shinji's lips. I must return, but I will wait till you come to heaven. I love you Shinji" and with that he was gone.

"I love you to Kowaru, I swear I'll say goodbye to love till I see you again."

"I'll say goodbye to love."
