CHAPTER 5:
The One Thing I'm Not is a Scaredy-Cat
By the time Gloria and Irona went out of Richie's mansion and into the streets of Richville, Gloria began singing a pirate song.
OVER THE RAGING SEA WE GO
by Gloria Glad
60 men all lost at sea
All of 'em drunk except for me
'Twas I who had to face the storm
With nothing in sight to keep me warm
Yo-ho-ho-ho!
Over the raging sea we go
Yo-ho-ho-ho!
Werever the fore winds blow, hey!
As they kept walking, a bunch of kids were in costumes going trick-or-treating for candy as well.
When Irona saw a scary looking character who walked past her and Gloria, she shook with fear and said, "G-G-G-G-G-G-G-Gloria!" She held onto Gloria's shoulders in horror.
"It's okay, Irona," Gloria consoled, "there's nothing to be frightened of. These are kids just like me who are out trick-or-treating for candy just like us."
"She's right, you know," said a little voice. What Gloria and Irona saw was a little boy who took off his mask and revealed his actual face. "See?" he said. "I'm a kid." He put his mask back on and went off.
"See, Irona?" laughed Gloria. "I'm no scaredy-cat."
And then, another song began.
SCAREDY-CAT
by Gloria Glad and Irona the Robot Maid
(Gloria)
I may be pretty
I may be sweet
I don't tell lies
And I do not cheat
I may be perfect
Yeah, and all of that
But the one thing I'm not is a scaredy-cat
(Gloria and Irona scream twice)
(Chorus)
The one thing she's not is a scaredy-cat
(Irona)
I may be tidy
I may be strong
I don't steal from others
'Cause that is wrong
I may be lovable
Yeah, and all of that
But the one thing I'm not is a scaredy-cat
(Gloria and Irona scream twice)
(Chorus)
The one thing she's not is a scaredy-cat
(Gloria)
We may have beauty
Or much pizzazz
(Irona)
We don't like mice
And all that jazz
(Gloria)
We may be besties
Yes, and all of that
But the one thing we're not
Yeah, the one thing we're not
I say the one thing we're not is a scaredy...
(Gloria and Irona scream twice)
(Chorus)
The one thing they're not is a scaredy-cat
