NO. 9 THE VERY NOISY NIGHT
Prompt: Sleeping in Shifts Tossing and Turning Caught in a Storm.
Klaus has PTSD… but so does Five
"Power's out," Diego walked into the living room.
"Looks like it's the whole block," Luther commented, following after him.
"I would imagine so, since this place takes up the whole block," Five quipped, pouring himself a drink. Klaus was laying on the couch.
Allison and Viktor brought the candles they could find from the kitchen, adding them to the ones they already had in the room.
"Did anyone see how fast the system is moving through?"
"Before the power went out the weather channel said we should be clear by morning," Diego replied. "Last bit of the hurricane that was further south."
The wind picked up outside. There was a sound of shattering glass.
"That might be the third one," Luther looked up in the direction the sound came from. "We'll have to pull some wood from the shop to board them up until we can get someone to come fix it"
Then the thunder clapped.
Klaus let out a yelp and instinctively Five covered him, knocking him to the floor.
Everyone else studied this scene.
"You're ok," Five soothed him. "We are ok."
Allison approached them, "what's wrong?"
Five glanced up at her, his own eyes had a flash of fear, "he was in the war," he reminded her.
Right,
Where he met Dave.
"And you?" She questioned.
Five glanced away. "I'm fine."
"No you're not," Allison told him.
Five looked down at Klaus who was starting to lift himself back up. Five watched him, and Klaus gave him a nod.
"Five," Diego said. "I understand Klaus' reaction, but you tackled him incredibly fast."
"Don't read so much into it," Five was all flustered. "I just wanted to make sure he was alright."
Another crack of Thunder shook the house and they all glanced up, startled. Viktor didn't miss the anxious look that flashed over Five's face.
"We'll camp out here," Luther decided. "Less likely to deal with glass breaking in here."

They each found a spot to sleep. Klaus was on the couch, Luther laid back in a chair, the rest in spots on the floor.
There was another thunderclap. Viktor looked over at Klaus, who was already asleep, and then to Five, who turned over at the sound. Viktor could sense the sound of Five's heavy breathing.
The 'boy' turned again, which caused Allison to look over.
"You alright, Five?" She asked casually.
"I'm fine," he replied sharply. But the next clap occurred and he turned over again. "Just can't get comfortable."
He seemed to curl into himself.
Viktor moved next to him and wrapped an arm in comfort. He half expected his grumpy brother to shrug him away.
But he didn't.
"Five, what is it?"
Viktor thought Five may not answer him. At least not honestly. But Five pressed himself into Viktors touch for comfort.
"When I was stuck in the apocalypse…The night I buried everyone… it stormed. The lightning would light up their faces… hearing it just reminds me…"
It was so easy to forget what Five went through all the years he was away.
Viktor tightened his hold on him, to give him a little reassurance.
He was still breathing relatively hard and Viktor could hear his heart pounding.
It was Viktor blowing up the first time that caused Five to go through everything he did. It's a lot for him to work through still.
Viktor focused his energy to match Five's heartbeat.
Five gasped as he felt a sensation. But before he could say anything Viktor had tuned his heart to him at a slower pace.
Viktor felt Five's weight shift as he heard his breathing slow, knowing that he was asleep.
He had never used his power like this before.
But for Five's sake it was handy to know he could.
Definitely the weakest of the stories, but I had NO clue how to address this prompt
