NO. 11 "911, WHAT'S YOUR EMERGENCY?"

Prompt: Sloppy Bandages Self-Done First Aid Makeshift Splint

After getting inured, Five wraps himself up, trying to hide his wound, but he's bleeding worse than some dinky bandages would help

Five sat in the bathroom. Medical bandages and tape were balancing on the sink as he winced while sewing his side up.

His hands were shaky from the blood loss and this was not his best set of stitches.

He breathed out the nausea that invaded his stomach as he tiredly wrapped the bandages around him, taping them off. He couldn't even tell if they were light enough, but right now all he wanted to do was sleep.

He put the materials back and washed up as best as he could, not noticing the mess he left on the floor. To be fair, he wouldn't have been able to bend down if he wanted to.

He stumbled out of the bathroom. If he had the strength to blink, he would have.

"Woah Five," Diego grabbed his arm. "A little early to be drinking, isn't it?"

"It's never too early," Five played along with this storyline. Being sloppy drunk turns people away.

"You should go lay down," Diego told him.

"Sure…"

Five continued down the hall and past Lila, who was chewing on some jerky. "He looks terrible," she observed.

"No kidding," Diego chuckled.

Lila stopped suddenly and looked down. "He better not have pissed himself," She complained, feeling something warm and wet on her socks. But she stopped as the color staining the bottom of her foot was red.

She whipped her head around towards Five, who was just reaching his room at the end of the hallway.

"Oi!" She called out to him.

"What is it?" Diego questioned, but then looked down. His eyes followed the drips of blood that led to his "little" brother. "Five?"

His older brother didn't answer as he reached his door frame, but ended up leaning against the wall.

"You owe me some new socks," Lila commented as they went over to him. "What did you do?"

"Hm?" Five looked at her, tiredly. His eyes didn't seem to focus on anything.

Diego looked at the red seeping from his shirt. "Jesus Five." He then repeated Lila's question. "What did you do?"

Lila lifted Five's shirt and made a face. "He did a shitty job on this, that's for sure…"

His bandages were slipping off, and they were soaked in blood anyway. The stitches were in his body, but they were too loose, not actually holding anything together.

Five started to slide down the door frame, his face pale.

"Help me get him to the bed, we gotta patch him up," Lila said to Diego.

They moved him the handful of feet over on the bed.

"You gotta stop repeating this scene, bro," Diego said out loud, even though he was certain Five couldn't hear him.

"He's done this before?" Lila asked as she lifted his shirt up out of the way to get a better look at the injury.

"He had a shrapnel wound and hid it from us for hours until he couldn't stand anymore."

"Well this looked pretty fresh." Lila looked it over. "Though it looks like he tried to stitch it himself, but didn't have the mindset to really focus on what he was doing. Get me the kit from the bathroom? And a wet cloth."

Five opened his eyes, wincing as the light flooded his sight.

"You're awake."

He glanced over to see Lila sitting at his desk, her feet up and a magazine in hand.

"What…what are you doing here?" He wasn't angry, just confused. He winced again this time from the throbbing pain in his side.

"Well someone had to clean the blood you dropped in the hallway, and someone had to keep an eye on you." She answered simply. "Since I patched you up- you're welcome, by the way-, Diego is on cleaning duty."

Five looked down at his bare torso, seeing the nice new bandage that was covering him. He looked at Lila and gave an appreciative turn-up at the corners of his mouth.

"Thanks."

"You're not out of the woods yet. You almost needed blood, and you know that's not a good idea with Diego around." She gave an amused smirk. "But you should definitely get some more rest. We'll check in on you later."

"Thanks again Lila."

"You're welcome. I've grown a bit fond of you. Not ready for you to die on me yet."

Short short short- but I was in class today so I was limited on time.

Hope you liked it!
