Chapter 6- Operation Big Bird (2)

"HICCUP! HICCUP!" Yelled Davis. "Hawk-Eye do you see something?" Asked Delta-1 over his radio. "Negative Delta-1 nothing's on my thermal, over" came the voice from the Drone Pilot. They searched for him half an hour till 2 Ospreys arrived. A couple of medics dismounted out of the Ospreys and tried to save the fallen. Another group helped the Soldiers to find Hiccup.

10 min later

"HEY! I found him!" Shouted Droze. "Oh my god. He has a Nadder Spine in his lung. MEDIC!" He continued. 2 medics ran up to him and did everything they could to prevent that blood flowed in to the lung. "Eagle-1 here's lieutenant Kashima we need a Medical transport for a critical patient, over" Kashima said. He was one of the Medics wich came with the Ospreys. "Roger that kash we're Starting our Engines. Make it quick" said the pilot of Eagle-1.

About 15 min later Hiccup was stable enough for an transport to Berk. They got him into the starting Osprey and took off. 5 min later the rest got into Eagle-2.

1h later after they landed

"Wachout! We need a surgery for him!" Kashima shouted as they walked through the Medical Center wich no was build after the Soldiers came. The Spine was still in his Body and was stabilized by some bandages. Astrid wich was on Base for a possible reconnaissance mission waited outside for Cooper. She saw Bodybags where transported out of the Osprey (Eagle-1) and a couple of Docs came out after them pushing a bed in front of them. She saw that there was a Nadder Spine in this guy's body and then she recognized the auburn hair. HICCUP! She ran up to them and she saw him unconscious with a oxygen mask on him. Half a dozen cables where hanging from his body. The bloody Spine in his Torso. The Burns on his Hands and everything else. She couldn't help but to cry. Soon Ruff, Tuff and Fishlegs joined her and tried to calm her but with no effect. 1h later they went into the great hall together to get something to eat but Astrid was still crying her heart out. "Come on Astrid. He isn't going to die" Ruff said with a reassuring smile. "Oh my Thor. He said that he loved me and now he's is laying there probably dying slowly and the last thing i did was smack and curse him" Astrid said while sobbing and crying. "I'm the worst human ever born and i don't deserve to live anymore. If i could i would change with him anytime" she continued.

Stoick barged in and saw Astrid sobbing. This was kinda off because she didn't really cry often to never and then it hit him. Hiccup wasn't there to calm her and cheer her up. "Where is my son!" He demanded with wide eyes. "Stoick..." Davis began who came in after him. "He was badly injured during a operation. Stoick eyes widened and his jaw dropped to the floor. "D.. Do you mean h.. he's..." Stoick said stuttering. "Nooo no no. No where near that. Our surgeons are the best of the best. I can't promise anything but it's serious about him. You may want to see him" Droze said. "I'm coming with you!" Astrid ordered from the back. "Sorry Astrid but relatives only" Davis replied to her with a sorry look. "Hey i need to apologize because he is the one who always stood to me and the last thing i said was go fuck your self. Please i need to see him one more time" she said while trying not to cry again. He sighed "okey i may can do a exception". Astrid stood up and walked towards them with teary eyes "Please. I can't lose him this way. I want to see him while he's still alive" she begged and Davis released another sigh "Good then come but do not do stupid shit okey?" She nodded and they started walking towards the base.

2 weeks later

"He's condition is pretty good he should wake up in the next couple of days" the doctor said to Stoick. Stoick nodded "I can't thank you enough for saving him" Stoick said to the Doctor and shook his hand.

Hiccup woke up. To his left Toothless. To his right Astrid who was grinning at him and holding his hand. She looked beautiful as always but he immediately pulled his Hand back. Her face changed from a happy Smile to a confused look. "What's wrong Hicc?" She asked him trying to get his hand back. But he didn't let her take it. "What's wrong you asking me? I don't know maybe the fact that you said to me to go fuck my self and then smacked my across the face. Yeah it maybe that" he said sarcastically. But not his normal happy-ish sarcasm but in a more disgusted way. "Oh you remember that one.." she said and sighed. "Ofcorse i fucking remember that!" He said. "Astrid i don't know what in Helim got into you, but i'm hurt, badly hurt.. now please leave" he said in a hurt voice. Astrid's eyes teared up. "But Hiccup... i'm really really sorry but i heard something and.."she started. "You heard what? Astrid WHAT?" Hiccup responded sharp. "I... I heard it from S... Snotlout" she said and looked to the ground not to meet his disappointed gaze. "Okey Astrid and can you tell me at least what he said about me that you believed?" He asked. "He said that you where hanging out with that berserk girl Heather". "So you saying to me that you where jealous?" He said. "I.. i love you Hiccup and i want to be with you that's why i got jealous and i'm a girl through and through so it means it's ja normal to get jealous so don't be mad at this" she said in a demanding voice. "I'm not mad or hurt because of you being jealous. Actually it's a miracle how me Fishbone got Astrid Hofferson Jealous. No Astrid it's not that, it's because of that, that you didn't trust me.. I trusted you blind Astrid... with my life. But it seems like that you don't do it like i am" He said and looked at her with his hurt face. Astrid broke out in tears. She didn't ran out or anything like that. She stayed in there. With him.

At night she wanted to to sleep in his room but there was only one bed so she decided to sleep on the chair. "What ya doing?" Hiccup asked a sleepy Astrid. "Trying to sleep if it doesn't bother you" she replied. "Yeah no. I mean why on the chair?" He asked again. "Where should i sleep? On the ground?" She asked back sarcastically. "No but here. With me there's more than enough space" her eyes widened. "What you mean? Me, you same bed?" She asked. "Yeah only if you want to. I mean if the chair is comfortable then you can stay there" he said and blushed cause he just realized what he had said. "Okey why not" she said finally and stood up and walked around the bed. She pulled the blanked up and slid under it. "Why Hiccup? Why are you doing this?" Astrid asked. He turned around to look at her "Astrid, it's because i love you with every single beat of my heart. And i trust you with my life. And even if you hurt me like 2 weeks ago, i still love and trust you no matter what" he replied to her and Astrid fellt how her eyes started to gear up again. She sobbed slightly in realization what she actually did. He wrapped and arm around her and pulled her near him. She turned around to face him. He smiled in a goofy but cute way. She couldn't help but laugh at this and then he gave her a kiss. After he pulled away she smiled. "Thank you Hiccup and by the way, i love you to" she said.
