A few weeks later, Kim recovered with amazing speed. Her body had healed and she had built her strength back, and then some. She worked hard in school and at the dojo, in everything she did she put forth her best effort. Nearly everyone noticed the way she seemed to excel in everything she did. Her mood had brightened significantly and she hadn't had a single nightmare or bad dream.

It was after a tournament that the guys stopped her before she could accept her trophy for her excellent performance.

Kim shot Jack a confused look, wondering what they had planned in front of so many people.

"Whether you know Kim like us, or you've only seen her from afar, it isn't hard to spot her strength, determination, and skill," Jack started, speaking to the crowd.

"She has pushed this dojo to become the best it has ever been," Jerry added, giving Kim a wink and a smile.

"Her incredible improvement in not only karate, but every aspect of her life, has affected us all. She is an inspiration to everyone she encounters," Milton said, with no hint of malice or insincerity.

"And so," Jack continued, unable to wipe the smile off his face as he started at a shocked Kim. "We would like to present Kim Crawford with the first-ever, Odessa's Legacy award. Named after the very first girl to enroll in the Bobby Wasabi dojo, this award is given to those who embody everything a strong, independent woman should be. Recipients must prove their kindness, strength, and bravery to be awarded with the highest honor. Kim has more than earned this award, and we hope she becomes the first to inspire girls all around Seaford to follow in her footsteps. Ladies and Gentlemen, Kim Crawford!" Jack announced, presenting Kim with a beautiful plaque, displaying her title as the first recipient of the Odessa's Legacy award.

Kim couldn't help but smile wide as Jack handed her the award. As the audience clapped and cheered, Kim wrapped her arms around the boys.

"Thank you," she whispered to them.

"We love you," Jack whispered back, putting a small kiss on her head. "We're glad you're here, Kim."

"We need you," Milton added.

"We wouldn't be who we are without you," Jerry said.

"Thank you," Kim said, knowing this award was for more than just her.
